Mattel needs to coordinate with Toya on designing some Barbie house makeover playsets. These ideas for temporary/changeable wallpaper and flooring are genius! Older kids and adult collectors would have a blast doing guided renovations in different architectural styles. Each playset could be for a specific room, like bathroom, and contain one or two elements (bathtub and sink) in that style, accessories like vases, hair dryer, slippers and templates for wall and floor makeovers. Also included would be an idea/instruction booklet that tells a bit about style elements, where to source materials and how to do a craft like make a bathrobe or paper plant. In the 70s they put out something similar for the Sunshine and Happy family lines. They were all about reusing things around the house, very Earth Day/Flower Child style and I had the best time with them. I did a lot of the crafts and they held up to daily play for many years. My mom used the milk carton sofa idea to make a couch for my Barbie house which is still absolutely fine 50 years later! I think a lot of people would really enjoy doing these kinds of makeovers, but need more guidance to be confident than Toya's excellent videos. To be able to buy templates, for the floor extensions especially, would be awesome. And get the price point on the playsets down by leaving out an unnecessary, barely articulated, doll.
I agree and I made my 1st doll house out of shoe boxes and made a couch using a tea carton and shower hose from a spray nozzle that was glued to my porcelain tub that squatted water. It's fun to customize at any age.
What an exciting renovation for both Barbie playsets! I understand that these dollhouses & playsets are geared towards kids, but even the bright colors can make it appear loud and somewhat cold in terms of the feels and colors. Seeing the overall final look for the house has a nice sense of comfort and color that is fitting for the eyes & aesthetics!
Loved the changes and how you incorporated all barbie things. Especially bringing in the black and white striped rug. It felt like you were incorporating her classic bathing suit by adding that in
I have something like that. Not sure if it's Mod Podge brand, but it does NOT dry totally clear when it's too thick (I tried to make a gem on a blue background but it ended up very milky at only 1/8 inch thick or so. I guess my advice would be to test before you put it on your tiles. Or use UV resin if you have a way to cure it.
Wow these two houses came together so well. I love this makeover❤. My daughter had decided on the townhouse as her first larger house but now I want them both lol. Just wish we owned some of these other pieces but a lot of those sets are no longer in stores. Can't wait to collect some things and put together an amazing house for my daughter's and their brother to enjoy.
@@fenleevolquooper4260 I love eBay so much. I've been browsing looking for Barbie deals. Got my eye on a few things. We just bought my kiddos the Barbie dream house. Putting it together while they are at school tomorrow so when they come home it's like BAM! Barbie house in the room. Going to be an awesome moment.
I commented I wanted to see you do a renovation video of these doll houses and here it is! Wow it looks amazing. Barbie company needs to hire you to up their game. 💖👍🏾
This is just awesome!! It’s amazing what you can do! It shows my daughter just how creative you can get!!!- this got Her sooo excited about playing and changing up her Barbie’s all over again!! Thank you for everything you do!!!
it's amazing how with just a bit (okay, a LOT) of creativity, you completely transformed these sets into a more mature and refined dollhouse, and none of it is permanent? it's crazy!! amazing work once again toya, the hot glue tiles were such a nice touch, so simple yet effective :D
Love what you've done to the townhouse and Malibu house to make one. So much realistic with colors and pieces from other collections. And touch of fabric was a must have. Great job as always!
Your redesign is genius 🤩 the Barbie house is so much more cohesive (despite being two different play sets) and appealing. Thanks for all the great ideas and inspiration 💡😀👍🏼
I'm convinced, you've been reading my mind 🤩 I was thinking of doing this with a set I purchased a while back. This was all the motivation I needed 😁 Thanks Toya! You're awesome as always!
You should try to make a faux stained glass piece to go in that awkward pink framed area by fireplace. Alcohol markers like Sharpies on acetate then coated with swirly gloss Mod Podge could be cool!
It’s this sort of redecorating in barbie that makes me wish the high school me had kept all my barbie stuff, even though my younger sister broke a lot of it.
Who could ever put the houses back the old way!! You totally created a BEE-utiful house!!! Bravo 👏 Positive Blessings, vibes peace, health and happiness! Namesta ✌️🐞🕉️
Wow!! This is so clever!! I would have never thought to pop out the inserts or place a bed over another bed! Also I am for sure going to try the tile thing!! Really adds some realism!!
I think this is a fantastic way to utilise your existing playsets without having to make new things! I love the idea of turning the skeleton of the house more neutral and making tiny changes so it feels more personal! It can also avoid the need to build a house from scratch if someone doesn't have the time for that. You never fail to surprise me, your creativity is beyond this world! I would love to see more videos like these!
I agree with Bethene below Mattel needs great designer like yourself I hope they bring you on board and then all rooms can be interchanged by adding new walls and decorations I am now a doll collector thanks to you my family thinks I have lost my mind but I am still going to carry on collecting tfs have a great day Nicole UK
Can you please make a video with all the made to move Barbies there are!? ☺️ I'd really love it if they were chronologically shown too! Noone has a video like this! 😳 Love your videos btw 😍☺️😍
I love that piano desk, It is probably my favorite barbie furniture I own. Also I have that same vase from one of the barbie portable fold up houses. The house looks amazing btw.
usually she likes to use supplies that are more available for people and also safer for kids, resin is suuuper toxic and bad for skin. it would look nice tho !!
I wonder, have you ever done a video on how you store all this stuff? I mean, you seem to be able to pull stuff out and decorate on a regular basis, so I'm assuming you have some kind of organizational system. I'd be interested because it seems like you have a LOT of stuff with irregular shapes and sizes. I image you have to have at least one room dedicated to storage.
Dang funny you turned a doll house into a really nice and calm looking house and I really like the way it came out if it were me I would’ve never been able to do that myself but I think it’s so cool that you could do that and I’m so shocked of the come out but it looks rlly good
i’ve watched your channel since i was around 7/8 and i’m 16 now. i haven’t watched one of your videos in probably 2 or 3 years and that’s maybe because i was growing up. but this came up and i had to watch it bc sometimes i miss my childhood and now i want to pull my barbie’s out of my closet along with my froggy doll❤️
I absolutely love this, and the way you present your videos. So cute! Great ideas for me to use as I redecorate my granddaughters Barbie dollhouse. Thank you!
