I enjoy the emotional side of thrifting. I like finding items that remind me of my mom and grandma. I collect kitchen items that remind me of my great-aunt because I spent a lot of time in her kitchen, and she did everything in delightfully old-fashioned but practical ways.
Me too... was caregiver to mom for 8 years plus while she was able we went thrifting and visited antique stores... she enjoyed it so much... we took her walker and she was thrilled finding items that she had collected over many years.
Me too. Holding onto the memories and having something to look at and remember the precious moments is so very important, especially when the world seems crazy. Having a cozy place to surround yourself in becomes ever more important as we journey through life.
I love the idea of sewing lace on pillowcases and cutting dollies up to make your pillowcases pretty Princess. I will look for lace curtains at thrift stores and give it a try thanks for the idea
Just attended a relatives funeral. Her sister spoke up and she said my sister could find treasures and unique items at the thrift store. Beautiful cashmere gloves , rhinestone jewelry from the 60s vintage clothes that were timeless. What a gift ❤ rest in peace cousin 🙏
I just love how you iron your bed linens. It puts a smile on my face, because it’s old school and I love it. That metal shelf was kind of ugly, but then turned to pretty awesome when I thought about it hanging in your garden on the fence or somewhere, with plants on the shelf winding around the open metal work. Boy, that pie looked great! Here in Virginia, we love a good pecan pie. 😊🥧

Thrifting is fun. Sometimes you find something great and sometimes you don’t. I think that will be a cute curtain for your door since you like frogies 🐸. Your steak looked good❤️. When John and I were first married we were given a lot of beautiful hand embroidered pillow cases. I ironed every one of them too. We used them until they were thread bare and then used them for cleaning rags. I cut the lace off of them and saved it for years. Love and blessings ❤️❤️❤️

How did you know that swan was meant for a towel? I would never have guessed it! And that pink plate with the fish is something I would imagine the vintage bombshell would like for her cabin. Really nice. I took several weeks of pottery classes and really enjoyed it. I'm sure you will as well. How creative and adorable is that cafe curtain and the pillow cases are oh so pretty!

I just can not get over your thrift stores seems so clean and put together so nice . the cafe curtain item will look charming on your door!. I did shop at a store yesterday that was like that and I did find a few items, a creamer and sugar , salt & pepper that goes with the dishes my mom brought her mom that I have , I get them out for the fall season . Love that beautiful Czech Republic vase! Glass & handmade/sewn linen is a huge weakness for me. Haven't found any lately, so I'm embroidering my own pillowcases & then I'll add a pretty crochet trim. Your flowers are looking even more beautiful! 💖
@mamabrooke I love beautiful linens too. I remember as a child my mama ironing our sheets in the summer. They were the best! I always wanted to iron, so she would let me iron my daddy's handkerchiefs. lol😉 Ironically, I just received some new embroidery patterns today. They're really quite beautiful. Can't wait to get started.
In the freezer, I haven’t even eaten it yet. I’m trying to lose a few more pounds three more to go. I could probably lose 20 more but 3 good with for now.
The steak was great. I got two meals out of it and the pie. I haven’t had any yet, but I just pulled out of banana bread and cut it up and I’m taking it down to the thrift store when I go today to give to the cashiers.

Maybe the ones on the ground, but the ones in the tree definitely no bugs. They’ve been amazing eating so sweet. Everybody’s been getting them in the neighborhood.

I’m really happy it’s raining here today. It’s pouring. I move some things down last night because I heard we were going to get this. It’s a tail in from Texas, but we really needed it. We haven’t had a downpour in about three weeks.The peonies you should’ve put an umbrella over them.🌸🌸🍃🦢

I love thrifty especially when I'm doing over a room. I look for accents and conversational pieces. I don't like clutter or over decorations 😮 I think it takes away from the beauty of the room. I mean, how can you thrift daily 😢that's hoardering 😮
I love your channel so enjoyable. Have you tried acupuncture for your issues I go to an acupuncture college it’s about$26 a visit had helped me tremendously and the herbs are healing.
Acupuncture wouldn’t even come close to helping this but thank you. Yeah I’ve been to probably nine surgeons in different parts of the world. There’s nothing they can do. I just have to live at the pain. It’s called suicide disease and I function better than 90% of the people who have it most people are bedridden I just won’t let it win. I’m trying to win. It’s extremely painful if I have to describe it it would be so gruesome he wouldn’t want to hear it lol and I’m not joking. They say it’s the worst pain to men. Therefore it gets its name suicide disease most people can’t tolerate the pain, but I use my mind over the matter. I joined a group that people that had it and that was more depressing than having it so I walked away from that group. Trust me if there was something I could do I would’ve already done it there is people had surgery, but they say it comes right back so why get your brain open for nothing And then there’s people that they don’t even bother having surgery that kind of sums it up for you not trying to be negative, but I do acupuncture for another part of my body. That feels really good.
