The patterns are in the blog 💕 my patterns are not perfect, you have been warned In the album “patterns and stuff” myfroggystuff.blogspot.com/p/printables.html?m=1
I keep reading in the comments that the featureless faces are creepy. However, as a native Chicago girl these dolls remind me of the artwork of famed Chicago artist Annie Lee. I would love to see a scene from her work re-created. please check her out and hopefully you are inspired!!! great work as usual Toya!!
@@recoveringsoul755 There are several. If you care to look for my thumbnail pic you'll find them for I have commented on most of them advising them to check out artist whose signature is faceless subjects. ❤&✌🏾.
@@tanesharichardson8437 it only shows three comments from you, this one, another video, and a reply to my other comment in another thread. Perhaps they were removed if there were a lot of negative comments
i was making dolls similar to this one - i would wrap the wire skeletons with quilt batting and stitch it down every now and then to keep it in place, then dress it with the skin and add fluff to the calves and hips as needed - they were smaller, though, about six inches, for a doll house - i think it would work on a larger scale your project makes me want to start sewing again!
@@MyFroggyStuff I was wondering if you could make one with needle felting, but it's an advanced level extreme craft with the skeleton . Michael's used to sell fabric dolls, eyes, lips as patches you could sew in. I bought them and was too lazy to even do that much, ugh. I think they were about 18 inches though
I know this video is a couple years old but it was one of the first things to come up when I was looking for poseable plush toy inspiration, and it's pretty much exactly the starting point I needed for a project I had in mind. Thank you so much for posting!
You should add a afro to one of the ken dolls. Also you should do Chelsey and Stacey and baby sized fabric dolls. I would love a serious of these dolls. Love the content
I'm a recent subscriber. Found you guys when searching due to my granddaughter who is obsessed with her dolls. She's 4. Now she watches you all too! I've loved everything we've watched. These dolls are wonderful. They have an artistic flare about them. I love to create. I will give it a try soon. Brava on the content. 💞
My sister is a new teacher, her school's mascot is a knight and she was sad she couldn't find any stuffies of knights anywhere lol. But thanks to your video I know the perfect gift to give her! Thank you!!
Fray Check is your friend anytime you have narrow seam allowances and fabrics that fray easily. It dries clear. Not 100% foolproof but It will help when stuffing. I love these little dolls. They remind me if the ones I made as a kid.
You're SO creative & talented! I wonder if you've ever considered doing a video about yourself~ How you got started, your education, if you were ALWAYS interested in crafts/ sewing/ dolls, etc. I just turned 60 & my Nana taught me to sew on her old treadle sewing machine when I was about four. We moved cross-country when I was 6, so she gave it to my Mom to bring with us. My four kids had never worn store-bought PJ's, so one Christmas they asked for them. They were so disappointed! They complained that they didn't fit right, they were "itchy" & they kept getting twisted around, LOL. By high school, all their friends were asking for "designer" clothes, AND to learn how to sew (both of my sons' friends, too). Recycling Thrift Store purchases was usually a lot cheaper than buying fabric, so we spent a lot of time at them & knew which ones had the best deals. I've made my daughters baby doll layettes, complete with mini-diaper bags, play pens, etc., but I was always too scared to try Barbie things. You've inspired me to brush off all my tools & get busy for my granddaughter. Thank You SO Much for ALL these AWESOME videos! You have an infectious positive attitude & great ideas and amazing skills! Many Blessings to You & Yours
Wow you make all your families clothing? Both my sister's really took to sewing, one made her own wedding dress even, the other made my daughters Halloween costumes . Had a bride dress that the dry cleaners commented on how well made it was all the seams were covered. Wish I had liked it more because I'm 5'10" and it's hard to find clothes that fit me. The men's dept is often easier for jeans and long sleeved shirts. My mom got patterns for Barbie clothes and made dresses for our dolls when I was little and I'm about your age. They were still selling Barbie patterns in the late 90's and early 2000s.
I had a childhood friend that used to make dolls like these without the articulation, sadly she lost her memory but this video brought me many good memories thank you ❤️
They turned out to be so adorable! You can always print one of Bella's paper doll patterns for the face to do an iron-on face. I think you could even resize the pattern to 1/4 scale, so that it fits infant clothes and shoes or 1/3 scale for Smart Doll vs!!!
These dolls that you made are so cool Toya! With the furniture, doll clothing, and accessories, and now the dolls that you make, you would make a killing at craft shows!
This is so brilliant! It's exactly what I was looking for, I even gasped when I found it because I was so surprised and pleased! So so brilliant!! Thank you for this awesome tutorial!
I loved the first doll stencil you did I made alot during lock down and I can not wait to try making the new dolls and I love everything else on your channel ❤🐸❤🐸❤🐸❤🐸
I've just recently started making cloth dolls again (made some rag dolls with my Grandmother as a kid) and I'm so glad I came across this tutorial. These dolls are awesome and I love that they are poseable. Thank you so much for sharing these patterns.👍🏾❤
I was actually thinking of experimenting with making fabric dolls! I even want to dye fabrics with natural dyes, like avocado peels and red onion peels.
Girl, same here except I dont have children...lol. I've always loved miniatures since my mom took my to an exhibition at a museum when i was 3. I've been obsessed since
I like the way you always challenge yourself and you do it over and over to get it right and you show it and you tell that I've done it over at practice because sometimes it seems the people on RU-vid it comes out perfect the first time and and then when and then when you do your own and it doesn't come out perfect you said well how do they do it they don't say they do it more than once they practice on it but you say you practice on yours thanks I enjoyed this video good challenge I may try it I don't know
Oh yes! What a cool idea. I actually was shopping online today in hopes of finding a dog for a doll room scene I'm planning. One of my issues were that they didn't look realistic or they'd forever be stuck in one position. Your idea remedies all of that. Thx!
Gone girl You are so your ancestors will be proud of you so proud of you this was so quintessential black history we're known for making these back in the day and the Gullah geechee people are all just smiling 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 _ONNA DID GUT GAL_ I WILL SAY MAKING THESE FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO MAKE THEM THEY MAKE GOOD FILLER OR BACKGROUND OR EXTRAS IN MANY OF THE DIFFERENT SCENES LIKE GROCERY STORES AND CAFES AND BEING THAT THEY CAN MOSTLY STAND ON THEMSELVES AND THEY'RE PROBABLY LIGHTER THAN A NORMAL BARBIE YOU CAN TAKE REALLY GOOD PICTURES WITH THEM
I did not think i was gonna find exactly what i was looking for!? really want to try this. this video is amazing, you're really talented and creative!!
I love this idea, they turned out so cute~! Here’s another one for a possible future project, take one of the stiff Barbie bodies with the all straight limbs and utilize it into a bendable one: cut the hands, feet and neck part(under the collarbone, so it won’t show through the clothes), poke holes in them and connect them to the end of a wired skeleton, glue on top, and dress the skeleton with a stuffed pattern copied from the proportions of the average Barbie body, dress in a cute pajama set(cutie reveal clothes!), and create your very own 1993 Bedtime or Slumber Party modern version of the doll!
