What is the exact Apex trigger you put in the gun? Is it the M&P 2.0 metal trigger? The reason why I ask is cause I have the metal carry compact and I want to put an Apex trigger in it.
Any chance you’re able to put out a full list and links to all the upgrades? Ordering the M&P now and want to start shopping so I can get it done like yours within 2 hours!
I’m actually not allowed to do links on yt but I say every thing I did in the video we also run a modification shop if you want to send it in we do everything from videos. Www.skipsGuns.com
People forget Floyds customs was one of the very few working on M&P's and the new M&P slide design looks very similar to Jeff's Kraken one and his port commander.
Lol, it's not very similar to the kraken design honestly. I have the kraken design, it's quite a bit different. And the commander porting has side ports, which are arguably a waste on a pistol. Smith killed it on this one
@jonah8133 I have the Kraken as well and you can tell where Smith got the inspiration. With Floyd you can customize the slide design and ports if you only want the top port
Being a 2011 snob, (I've never been a big S&W fan) I purchased the Performance Center M&P 10mm 2.0 a few months ago and I actually like it, so yesterday, after seeing your video I bought the M&P 2.0 Metal Carry Comp I've actually been looking at it for a few days now, your video just helped me to make up my mind. (I will be copying your build) So while I'm at my local gun shop my salesman who knows me well says have you seen the newest edition of the Springfield Prodigy ? they are comped now 😑 after spending my money I was saving to get my 5 inch Prodigy comped and ported on this M&P. Now I need to sell my 5 inch Prodigy and get the new ported Prodigy. I do love my 2011's and 1911 DS 🥲😢
Upgrading does it make it less reliable or worse in a way just wondering I’m new to the gun world and every time I say “upgrade” they say it technically makes the gun worse wondering if that was true just got the polymer frame one and love to try these upgrades but don’t wanna mess up my firearm
That’s a great point and something to always consider when you’re talking about reliability - especially if it’s EDC. Take everything as a grain of salt including my words, but any modification outside of stock will have an effect on reliability including triggers, lights, red dots, porting, comps, slide cuts etc. These things change slide weight and how your recoil spring cycles to light weight triggers that can cause you to ND your rounds or just causing malfunctions in general. Let’s be honest. the less you do, the more reliable your gun will stay. Although the percentage is small to cause major issues, most people “upgrading” will not have any issues, but it’s important to test fire your gun anytime you modify something or add something onto it, and that’s kind of the fine line of knowing if you can trust what changes you’ve made.
Galloways precision offers recio spring as well. They have a simple chart breaking down the different weights. Some of the reviews state they run the 9mm with 20lbs springs. Kinda heavy especially if trying to run target rounds, would make sense for +P or quality HP. Any insight? Or just stick with 15lbs factory standard?
i would like someome to confirm if this slide and barrel fits the 2.0 metal (1st one released). i wanna swap the top end on my metal to this comp barrel and slide
i think hand tattoos are really where I'm missing in my shooting.. probably the extra weight from the ink and the color variance that collects more sunlight and also weighs it down more, would help me shoot better.. but then the Q is, how many do I need to get better?!
Ive spent a couple years wanting to try the M&P 2.0 worked over by Monsoon Tactical .They had a Lucky Seven ported ,Cerakoted , and Apex"d full size package at Aim Surplus and I snagged that a week before this dropped . I don't think Im missing out due to lack of metal frame but that new slide work is fire .I also had to address the blow hole problem with a Dog tag baseplate and this has the gasses directed away from the red dot built in .Cool pistol .
@@SkipsGunz I think they only made a few to see how much hype they would generate and if they saw how they must be doing it!! that there was acceptance they would make more!!! pure business!!
Finally got to shoot one this weekend at GOALS range day. It was not modded at all. Shot nice but didn't feel a big difference from my 9c which has a Faxon comp (a lot cheaper)
You would think getting a “performance center” model would give you a sweet trigger. How much of a difference is the Apex? I picked up the pistol over the weekend and love it but would definitely upgrade the trigger if worth it.
If you are thinking about using Skips Guns don’t hesitate. He is top notch. He is honest and hardworking. Best decision I ever made and will continue to do so with my other firearms.
And all the assholes who think I don't like Scott Gzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz... He is still the 2A Communities Einstein!!! By the way my comment was deleted on your last video SHAME! All I tried to do is create positive fun comments. 😎
i put a hole in one side of a gun, made that up btw. it didn't work without one.. a lot of guys didn't figure that out.. i'm also the guy who started oatmeal.
Excited bro my damn gun store still doesn’t have them. I owned a M&P 2.0 Metal Competitor I loved it, but I could t afford the money for the training ammo much less the competition ammo. So I had to sell it I want that gun big time. Do you think it is capable of being one of my EDC carry rotations?
@@SkipsGunz skip, where are you located brother? I’m in the Tampa Bay area. You’re also gonna have to put that Apex trigger in for me and the Magwell and the extension.
@SkipsGunz i know i im just messing around love the video and the gun will be my next purchase just wish i could afford all the upgrade keep up the good work👍
