Let’s Talk Trays 

Thanks so much for this video, I LOVED seeing your tray collection and getting ideas for my next tray order 🌺.

Ooooh, I saw loads of trays there that I LOVE! I am truly a noob who has only done three paintings so far. I did my first piece, which was 60 x 40 cms with the green tray, pink wax, and pink pen it came with. Cue sobbing and darned near a mental break! Then I ordered from Yellow Dog Designs and it was like the angels sang! I bought the full cover and tray in Glorious Gold Silk and yes, it really is glorious! I bought my second tray with a partial lid in silk white, and I have since realized that I need to order a darker coloured one as well. I put the colour that has the most drills into my gold tray and don’t kit it up at all, except for the tray. At the end of painting, I put the cover on it and put it away for the night - super easy! I got that one in gold because I figured there would be practically NO pictures that would have that colour a lot, so it has been easy to see both black and white, which have so far been my background colours. As I live in the Canadian Arctic in a VERY remote town, I have so far been staying with Canadian small shops mostly as the shipping to here is ridiculous in the first place. Adding on cross-border fees and sometimes the shipping eclipses the product. For example, I looked at buying some release papers from a US shop. The papers were about $12.00 CAD for the pack I wanted, but the shipping was close to $37 CAD! I think that’s too much for basically a large envelope. Luckily, I have found AHHHMAZING small Canadian shops, as well as one US shop that provides something I cannot find in Canada, and does amazing work! I have now bought all of my funnels for my various storage sets (looooong story) from ZODIAC SHADOWS in FL. Her work is top notch, her prices are fair and so are her shipping rates. I have placed two orders with her now, and if I ever get a different storage system, I will order from her again. There is something to be said with knowing that the quality is always going to be excellent that makes a shop stand out so much, and while I have only purchased funnels (four so far), I have zero doubts that the same attention to detail and quality excellence would be there.
