The congregation sang this song at my baptizing in 1951, I was 11 years old in the Madison Heights Baptist church, in Madison, Tenn. Glory to the great three in one.
Endue me with the wisdom to praise Thee as I ought.O that I had a thousand tongues to praise Him, my Prophet, Priest, and King. Live forevermore and reign supreme in my heart, is my prayer with thanksgiving.
Love the melody. It's a wonderful old Welsh folk song, best known as "ash grove". But the lyrics here are new to me. I like them. Thanks for putting them online.
I love these Accapella songs. They proclaim such hope. Jesus is hope for the hurting and healing for the broken. Jesus is a comfort to the hurting. Wonderful Savior who loves us. Thank you for posting such beautiful videos.
This melody is reminiscent of childhood days when my mom taught this tune to school groups but with different lyrics. She would have been pleased to hear and sing this as a hymn. I do appreciate the S.E Samonte songs and accompanying visuals. From Trinidad.

I have heard this beautiful hymn before but was researching who wrote The Little Drummer Boy and discovered it was Katherine K Davis, the same composer. Amazing!
It's me, again. Today (September 22), we held a Stewardship of Creation worship service at Dreher Island State Park on Lake Murray. We sang this as the Closing Hymn.
