I’ve started with just one drawer. It looked so nice when I was done that I soon did another. I’m inspired by looking at my cleaned out & organized drawers.
I agree, I ignore that rule about decluttering things that I haven't used for 6 mos. I kept my dress from 1997 when I was in college, I used it on my ring hop and graduation ceremonies. My eldest niece used it on her JS prom back in 2005, and my youngest niece niece just used it on her college graduation last July 30. Yep, I am keeping quality clothes for future generations. These same nieces are now wearing my 20 years old Levi's jeans that are still in pristine condition. Thank you, love your video.❤
For me it’s to much stress and trouble to sell things and when I want things gone I want them gone so I just donate. I will offer to friends and family first and then it’s gone. So yes I am with you cut your loses
I feel this way too! Unless it’s something I believe I’ll be able to sell quickly and get a decent amount for, I’m not holding onto it longer than I need to!
@@kimgordon3695 What a great idea!! I have brought unwanted items to the gym or work lounge and put a sticky note “ Free to a good home!” Within an hour, the items are gone
I have to strongly agree that what you consume in media is suuuuper important. It's insane how much it reflects our lifestyle and it can quickly become a reality if you want it!
This me. I barely have clothes and nothing on my walls. I love it. It’s so refreshing and relaxing to not have so many things. I’m just fine with everything that I own.
Thank you for presenting this from an energetic perspective. I'm a closet decluttering stylist and throughout all my training and reading no one has suggested "Visualize what your perfect collection would look like." I've worked from "how do you want to feel" but so many people are visual that thinking about how do you want things to look? is a great prompt.
Feeling good is more important. I feel good in clean, wide spaces with comfy pillows, high quality fabrics, good scents (orange or jasmine), not too much clutter.
Amazing video! The best tip for me was the “maybe pile” we can so easily just tuck things away in the garage or an empty room & feel like we decluttered but if it’s still in your home you really have not decluttered anything.
Working in health care, I did not wear a fragrance as a consideration and courtesy to my patience, Same with nail colors that were not natural or clear. When decluttering I ask myself if i was moving would I take this item with me?
This video is so simple yet so rich and beautiful! I learned SO much! I’m having a hard time in my decluttering journey and this gave me so much more insight! Thank you!
I feel so lucky that I put no make up at all, I have no make up products and I don't watch make up videos (not saying that others should do the same) but I just feel grateful I never learnt to like it or to spend money on it
Love it!!! And with your mom saying she would put an entertainment/console table under the tv, maybe a cord cover could fix that look and make it look more visually pleasing. It wouldn’t be a clutter magnet and would still feel open. But if it doesn’t bother you, then that’s what matters.
Your videos are so aesthetic. Yes, minimalism is goal. I don't mind if you review fragrances by samples in the future. I'm in the country that we can't buy fragrances and can return them if we don't like them 😢 I got inspired and buy new bottles every month and I feel like I haven't touch the olds.
I will say I have a bed with under storage drawers and I only use it for winter clothes/summer to switch out, blankets, and socks. I don’t have other places so for me that works but I only put storage items that I WILL use !!
Love this video! I loved the advice to declutter in stages. I tried the Kon Mari method years ago and it was too overwhelming. Going in stages is much more effective.
i agree with everything exCEPT that area under the TV, it's giving me anxiety omg I would put a pretty table there and just make sure not to let anything pile up
Good suggestions, thanks for the video. I have the same problem with my maybe pile: the choice doesn’t get easier with time. But nowadays I do have one maybe box that I go through regularly for when I want to give myself a bit more time and hope that I find the answers as time goes on. xxx
Very helpful video, Ilythia! Love this videos where I could just play your video and listen to you in the background! You should start doing podcast in the near future 💕
Actually, I'm not a minimalist at all, but if I'm overwhelmed, I think the smarter choice would be having a NO PURCHASE PERIOD, CONSUME WHAT I HAVE. Decluttering would be stage 3 for me
I'm new to your videos, you are my new favorite!! I love motivational videos!! You are SOOO INSPIRING!!! You have so many great ideas, i really enjoy your ideas to have a better, less stressful life!!!
I have to say that I agree with your mom about something under the TV. That cord hanging down the wall all the way to the plug would drive me crazy. Cords showing really bug me and that cord really stands out.. Other than that, some good ideas.
I don't have any plans for a fancy/formal event yet, but I have decided that if that comes up, I'm going to buy an infinity dress and call it good. That way I can use the same dress, but reinvent it, so I don't feel like I'm always wearing the same thing.
I used to have a giant perfume collection too and frankly it was more perfume than any one woman could wear for a lifetime - however I can’t seem to sell it even though they’ve mostly only been sprayed a few times at best but i did choose only the ones I’d really wear and that I like the best to keep
Should see under my bed 😂😂😂 I still have things in boxes from when I moved in October I've been waiting for my husband to put up shelves so I can put stuff up
:) Thanks so much for sharing. Indeed, I've been able to sell some things which is great - though perfume I've not found a space to try and sell. I've donated the rest which I'm hopeful some folks will also be able to use. Have a great day.
Only little kids will be the generation to grow up with TikTok since it hasn’t been around long. I def don’t let my kids use it, no way! Lol. I love these calming videos ❤❤
Empty spaces have energy too- you have to fill empty spaces with at least a few items. In Asian culture, we believe emptiness equals to nothingness and loneliness. So, for empty vases that don't have flowers or stems in them, we place coins in them so that they will not stay empty
