I absolutely love the album version. Guitar screams and sings, my heart is beating faster, this is the moment when you know why rock music is so beautiful. One of the best songs in the history of modern music and this solo makes it even better. A masterpiece!
George is the one who wrote the solo. And George Martin chose the single version solo. I’d say them doing the album version solo shows that’s what they liked.
@@howie9751 and that's why the album version is by far the best. it is dirty, gritty and in high contrast to he rest of the song. Brings more raw emotion and yet fits the song perfectly. The single version was to neuter it and make it more radio friendly. Lamest thing the Beatles ever did.
@@howie9751 I certainly wouldn't go that far and we will have to agree to disagree. The single version sounds rather bland to me, but the album version rocks it a bit, and after all they were a rock band. I do appreciate your perspective and I certainly don't hate the other versions, but that album version has excited me since i was a little 9 year old in 1970 listening to it. It soars and is as melodic as anything they ever did!
@@howie9751 it is also interesting to note that there are not very many Beatle songs with multiple official versions like this, so apparently they couldn't decide either - hence they made everyone happy by putting it all out there! Way to go John, Paul, George and Ringo!
I fell in love with "Let it be" when I was 12, as I grew up, I gradually understood why I love this song so much, not because Paul's vocal and rhythm, but because of George's profound and unique guitar solo, he is the reason I started to love the Beatles and learn to play guitar.
While most people here are saying that the album version is the best solo, I wanna give a shoutout to the single version, for being more nuanced and low-key.
Why on earth have some people voted this down, all 3 versions played excellently, authentic tone, nice close up for anyone who wants to see what's being played! Great job.
Since I grew up listening to the single version of let it be on my CD, for me I love the first one. That solo feels more natural to me. But despite this, I also love the Album version just as equally. It has a nice bite to it.
Clapton has said that if George had wanted to he could be just as fast as he was but that wasn't George's style. All i had to do is here George play "Roll over Beethoven" as a kid and he won me over.
The album version has to be my favorite of all of them. Even though it makes me cry. I think it's because of the fact that it makes me think how The Beatles could have stayed together, and could still be touring today. I know they broke up because of tension between the members, but had they either kept going and gotten through the tension, they could still be together today, and the album version of the Let it Be guitar solo makes me think of that, so then I cry.
The album solo version was recorded in January 70, because George wanted something better and Paul was also there because George Linda and Paul did the final backup voices on let it be.
Amazing to watch those well know notes come to life! Always a pleasure to watch your work Jun! Also, reminds me, ( not that I need reminding ), of the skills and mastery of John, Paul, George, and Ringo!
I really like the way you did the album version with the solo near the end. Great sound. I have been fooling with a Boss distorsion, tube screamer (for sustain) and a Fender tube amp and can not come anywhere near the sound you have. Great job!
I bought 45 vinyl disc of Let it Be when it was first released. Then the Let it Be 33 vinyl album came out & listened to Let it Be & to my surprise the solo blew me away. I didn't expect it even the drum beats were different.
Thanks Jun, I have been playing this video for probably more than 100 times, I even boosted up my volume to near max, sorry dear neighbours, but this cover is just awesome.
Great video, thanks and congratulations ! By the way Harrison was a genious, what a sensibility to create this kind of solos!! For me the best it´s from the album version, it´s very emocional. Although the single version solo it´s magic too with the rotary effects...and at the end it was the most famous.
The ironic thing is - and if you have headphones, it'll bear this out - if you listen to either the single or album versions, you can hear bits of the other solo coming thru..although it's more obvious on the album version (the single's solo is almost but not quite buried in the mix...and vice versa, although they did manage to bury the album version more.)
That's nuts! I went back to listen to both recordings (originally thought it might just have been this video) and could definitely make out the other solos.
I heard it was overdubbed when the single was released. You are right. You can still hear George's lead part on the single at the end, but much quieter. The echo is removed from the drums in the single too.
I've been confused about this solo for years. Pretty sure the version I heard growing up in the 70s was the third (album) version here. But I saw a clip from the film in the late 70s, and I noticed the live studio solo was different (I think it may have been the never-released take 27a, now available to see/hear on RU-vid). Then, when it came out, I got Let it Be Naked, and the solo is different again from the Naked version, and different from all three you play here (most similar to, but clearly different from the Single Version).
There is a RU-vid video with 7 versions. All are fabulous. Although the leslie Guitar version is quite unique, I'm beginning to like the album version more and more. Check out all 7 versions
+Adrián Fuentes Jiménez In my opinion the album and the anthology versions are the best! Still playing them since september! Can't get tired of it! I played them for about 2 months that I can play them with closed eyes lol.
I can only imagine those who click dislike are profoundly jealous. ... I mean, I am profoundly jealous of talent like this too, but I love it. Kinda wish I had those guitars as well. Also, I dig the shirt.
Great Job!!! I watched a guitar player in the studio once do 50 takes because of course, he hears everything others don't......they wound up using take 1. It was the only one that had the right feeling. The others had mistakes or were so perfect, they sounded fake and without feeling.......thats why you need someone to say "ENOUGH!!" or musicians will be there for a week trying to get it right in their own mind.
beautiful job....the tones were perfect, but I guess we all kind of expect perfection from you and you never ever disappoint your fans. Rock on buddy !
