“I’ll play, you know, whatever you want me to play, or I won’t play at all if you don’t want to me to play. Whatever it is that will please you… I’ll do it.” - pretty much sums it up.
Well gee, steevie, since Paul wrote the song, he has a right to ask the others to play it the way he envisioned it. What is wrong with that? The others, on songs they wrote, had that same right. Unlike the bs narrative that people like you have been peddling for decades, Paul was always polite about it. He wasn’t overbearing, he simply came into the studio generally with fully formed songs. George and John normally would come into the studio with only part of a song and expect Paul to flesh out their songs for them. The band functioned best when Paul and John wrote songs together, but it’s not Paul’s fault that John refused to write with Paul later on. You can see in the Peter Jackson documentary that Paul was walking on eggshells around John and George. But John and George were pissed at Paul mainly because they were jealous of his talent. This nonsense about Paul being overbearing is just a cover story to blame Paul.
And this is what, for 50 years, has served as THE BEATLES FIGHTING! Good Lord - The Who used to put each other in the ER. Ridiculous. MLH in search of a narrative 16 months afterward. Watch Get Back.
I can’t wait to watch this. My dad is gonna watch it to . He’s gonna feel like a kid again . I hope this wins an Oscar . Thank you Disney and Peter Jackson .
Yes! I personally can't wait for the remastered performances of Two of Us, Take 19 of The Long and Winding Road, and Take 27B/28 of Let It Be recorded on January 31st, 1969! The most disappointing thing about Get Back was the fact that these performances were either shortened or omitted altogether.
Totally agree that the Peter Jackson documentary gave short shrift to long and winding road, let it be and two of us, which are all favorites of mine. I believe let it be only appears in the closing credits of a 9 hour documentary, which is unfathomable to me. Instead, we get a million versions of I’ve got a feeling, which I like, but come on, that was hardly the best song. I would have also liked to see Billy Preston juicing up one after 909 on the electric piano, that would have been fun to watch.
I’ll never forget my heartbreak watching LET IT BE in the theater. It was so depressing to see these four that I loved so much falling apart with such outbursts of anger. I thank God for Peter Jackson, he showed us what the entire time was like. The live was there. Despite arguments and tempers it was still there. I’m not sure I want to see this again.
@@jimbo9208Yesterday... anyone who's not 15 yrs old or younger grew up watching and collecting dvds and blu rays. Kids these days just can't imagine a world w/o the internet.
But still, Get Back contains so much more content than Let It Be, offering a more comprehensive view of the whole story. The restoration is much needed tho.
I have been a fan since 1964, yet I did not know until today that the original Let It Be film was not shot in theatrical widescreen. The quality of the Peter Jackson documentary was so incredible, I had not noticed that it too was actually in 4/3 television ratio. I'm also surprised that the long standing and well reported objections from Paul were surmounted for this re-release of the L-Hogg film.
....show them how is done, guys!.......NO tattoos/piercings, NO ridiculous designer "swag"......Billy Preston dressed normal like the young keyboard master he was. This is what the gods looked like in MT Olympus, giving the gift of eternal brilliance to us mere mortals!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Let it be always makes me so sad It feels so uplifting but also reminds me thay everything good has to come to an end, and the distant sounding brass section always gets to me for some reason I can't wait for this new film. The final beatles film
Agree, it’s sad and so very bittersweet. My first memories of them is the band breaking up. It didn’t have to be that way, they could have, should have had, many more years together.
Narrator: WOW!!!😍😍😍😍 SO, THAT SONGS WAS LEGENDARY!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR HEAR THIS LEGENDARY SONGS BY THE BEATLES!!! AND THE MAGIC OF DISNEY AND MUSIC WILL NEVER GIVE UP ✨️!!!!
So many worthwhile documentaries coming to Disney Plus in the next month. You've got Let It Be, then there's The Beach Boys doco, and after that you've got the Jim Henson one. So many top notch documentaries.
Be interesting to see how different it is from Get Back. Get Back was really good for song writers and Beatles fans. Everybody else, I can only wonder.
That the other band members let Yoko Nono into their jam sessions is a testament to their love for John and their generosity. It doesn't say much for John, though.
Originally released by United Artists (MGM's current sister company). Fun facts: United Artists (same distributor behind several Beatles films) was also the original distributor behind Disney cartoons in 1930s especially Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphony shorts, as well as 20th Century Pictures films from 1933 to 1935 (before it merged with William J. Fox Pictures to form 20th Century Fox, now officially renamed after purchased by Disney as 20th Century Studios). Now currently owned by Apple Corps Ltd. & Disney.
With the release of Let It Be, this film and Get Back are perfect companion pieces. I think Peter Jackson’s team also succeeded in restoring this film yet, per Michael Lindsey-Hogg’s request, making it look more “film-like” than Get Back was. I also like how this trailer added in part of the voiceover from the original trailer: a nice touch. Really looking forward to this.
For the most part it is a much shorter version of 'Get Back' that centers heavily on the negative vibes. What both films got wrong is not showing enough of the music. I mean we only get tidbits of 'Accross the Universe' , and 'Two of us' for example and don't get me started on the rooftop concert. Five cameras filming the event , and look at what they give us. I'm a big Beatle fan and I own both their stereo and mono cd box sets apart from unofficial releases and their films including Anthology. Having said that , I really don't care about this release one bit.
And next year Peter Jackson comes with Star Club 1962 performance fully remixed and enhanced by AI, bringing Carnival of Lights in the extended box, just to make our lives even happier ❤
I think"Magical mystery tour"was their best movie, with "Help"second, but "A hard day night"was also good. Unfortunatelly most young nowadays show little or none interest,so in fifthy years they will be forgotten ?
Definitely. Peter Jackson went out of his way not to use footage that was in this movie. Plus you'll get more of the rooftop concert than was in Get Back (and less of people/cops on the street and in the apple office). Plus you'll get the songs they filmed (not just recorded but FILMED--like a music video) in the studio the day after the concert (which weren't in Get Back). This movie is definitely necessary.
I am confused? I thought Get Back was supposed to right the wrongs of the Let It Be edits which in my opinion on the whole is a very glum picture show?
