I have had the opportunity twice too see Brother Ray perform.Once in Akron he and his assistant walked right past where i was seated and i said"good show brother ray" and he responded too me with "i appreciate it"!!My 5 minutes of fame!!That was 35 yrs past!!
@@androtech3270 Yeah ok ok lets not see the bible and seee The one and only JESUS CHRIST what did.A whore came to him and asked for forgiveness she knew that she did wrong and wanted forgiveness what Jesus did?? HE FORGIVED HER CAUSE SHE REALIZED THAT SHE WAS A SINNER. First example,Second. When Jesus was on the cross and dying on the left of him and on the right of him they were 2 sinners as well (thiefs murders what ever) the one asked the Jesus to help them and the other one told him that they didnt deserve it cause they made sins what Jesus did???? HE TOOK BOTH OF THEM IN HEAVEN!!!! My point is that god for me dosent exist in books churches and everything. God exists in the souls of those who want him in their life and soul there is where you can find him. And about Mr Ray Charles yeah he is in heaven cause God forgives everyone when he sees that people really seek the forgiveness in life at any point of their lifes!!!! (Cause after all started from us Adam and Eve and those two where the ones for screwing it all up so yeah we are all sinners)
I could watch blind people jam all day. Just something about feeling the music without giving a damn about how the movements look is so genuine. Love it.
many musicians disregard how they look when performing, regardless of whether they can see or not. the greatest musicians are the ones that don't see themselves as authors, but as servants to what music calls them to do. Ray Charles does this; his blindness only helps to make this more comprehensible to us
He is one of the few men that can do a Beatles song true justice. He never disrespects a cover of any artist which is why people love when he covers their songs
Please realize that Ray Charles was a master at bringing the best out of a song! That's why it's so intriguing and surprisingly wonderful when a song is preformed the way Ray sees it! I wish he had done one of mine!
Back when my mom passed away when I was 9, my dad gave me a Beatles CD and let it be was a touching song for me.. Ray Charles is my favorite singer, I just found this and I am crying.
I don't know why people are saying "Oh, Ray's version is better than the original" or "The Beatles were the best" well you people are wrong... They are just different versions. Ray just recreated it to fit his singing style. So as other versions of this song. So please respect my opinion. Though I still prefer the original version, Ray made his version very good!! :)
Brilliant version by Mr. Ray Charles. Nothing can make you feel like you did the first time you heard it. Every time I hear Sir Paul sing this it brings back that feeling
+Gaming with FireFox and T145TNTftw "I don't know why people are saying "Oh, Ray's version is better than the original" because Ray's version is better. "well you people are wrong..." How can an opinion be wrong? "So please respect my opinion" Why? You don't respect anybody elses opinion
Ray Charles was a friend of mine.... He inspried me, and changed my life. His soul and voice will forever be in mine and hearts all over this big blue earth. Rest In Peace, Ray.
I love this whole song. Ray did such an incredible job adapting it to his more soulful style. My favorite moment/ 2:37. That little "ha ha" he gives. I don't know why, it just really hit me for some reason.
One of the greatest singers of ALL time! The great Ray Charles. WOW, he injects so much soul into this song with the simple magic of his voice and playing.
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be And when the broken-hearted people living in the world agree There will be an answer, let it be For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be Yeah, there will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me Shine until tomorrow, let it be I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
So fitting for Ray to perform this. When Paul wrote this song, he was inspired by Southern Baptist church music. Ray brings a jazz feel, but it still feels like Soul. What a great performer!
I've been going through a lot recently. I was in a bad place and I was trying to put my mind off things by watching random videos in my recommended. This appeared, and I can't really explain but its made me feel far better about myself.
If you have ever heard the phrase "that just can not be taught" this here is the very definition of that term. This is as real of a display of raw, real, natural talent that you will ever find in the vast world of music.
This song is a gospel, or, at least, the lyrics sounds like that. Who better than Ray Charles to capture the spirit? The best version of this song I´ve ever heard.
God bless Ray Charles and rest his soul. He was an amazing person, talented and humble. Despite being blind, he was one of the happiest people I'd ever seen perform. Funny how some of us are born "perfect" and still let everyday problems prompt us to declare that our "lives are over" yet people with defects like blindness, autism, downs syndrome, cerebral palsy, and more, are some of the most joyful, and grateful people there are.
This is not a version of "Let it be" made by Ray Charles, this is Ray Charles's way of rediscovering "Let it be". I have heard this song many times and Ray Charles has given me the feeling this is the first time I hear "Let it be".
What a wonderful song, I’ve always listened to this during my darkest days. And the words have cured me better than anything else, and reminded me to find peace in myself when it’s easy to be cynical, pessimistic and self critical. Let it be a message of peace and hope for all of us during these dark and difficult times.
The Beatles are my favorite group of all time and this is one of my favorite songs. Great cover by the Great Ray Charles. Paul Mccartney said in an interview that he is honored every time someone covers one of His songs. I can only imagine how honored he was that Ray Charles would cover this song. Great job thank you for sharing this.
I think the quality of a singer at should be defined by how well they can take a song and tailor it in order to conjure emotions in the listener. By this definition, to me, Ray is the greatest singer I have ever heard.
Let It Be When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be Let it be, let it be Let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be And when the broken hearted people Living in this world agree, There will be an answer, let it be For though they may be parted there is Still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be Let it be, let it be There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be Let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be And when the night is cloudy There's still a light that shines on me Shine until tomorrow, let it be I wake up to the sound of music Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, I want you to let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be There will be an answer, let it be Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
Ray Charles was an an undisputed enigma musically. listen to his message from the people to the people by the people, it is very philosophical if one can digest it really deep deep
le meilleur chanteur pour moi! pensées pour mon père qui me l'a fait connaitre il y a quarante ans et qui malheureusement est parti comme lui aujourd'hui. dédicasse papa!je t'aime
One of those men that, just made you believe it. He could take a song, make it his own, and express his soul through the song. Very few possess his gift. You know it's Ray Charles as soon as he opens his mouth, but even more so, when the piano starts to play. Extremely gifted, he made so many people's lives just through his music. He could change outlooks of men through his music. Long live Ray Charles! He is definitely one in a billion!
I just realized this was posted 12 years ago on my birthday lmao This is really soulful and beautiful, would’ve been a great bday present if I saw this when it was posted 💯
