Sadly with the donations, a number of the groups really short changed the survivors, and there are still many people living in emergency accomodation waiting on the payout. Red Cross and Salvation Army are the worst. The money was meant to be for the survivors but they have kept about half of the donations for apparently the future, but yet there are people still waiting for there payout

I just wanted to thank you and your subscribers for your kindness,concern and generousity with donations..the international response has been astounding . Way more than we ever imagined. As a wildlife carer, your help has meant that we have enough medical resources, food and housing for thousands of furry survivors. On their behalf, my heartfelt thanks and love! Keep well. All the best to you all.

The firefighters deserve the most respect that you can give, most of the guys fighting these fires were volunteers, they weren't paid. They risked their lives and some lost them, but they are so so amazing. Mad love to all the Firies, they have some of the highest respect to Australia. Thanks for reacting guys.

it is still so hard watching this, it was the most traumatic time for us in NSW and Victoria, i almost lost family, we lost family farms. the whole East Coast was in mourning, it was like being in a War. the fires just got put out that then COVID hit....we've had 5 years of constant trauma here (crippling drought, horrific bushfire and now COVID and lockdowns). lucky Aussies are tough. thankyou so much for covering our songs xx

It wasn't only NSW & VIC. SA & WA had some bad fires at the same time. A lot of Kangaroo Island, (KI) was burnt. I also had family in ViC and NSW. 😢😢 It was a tragic time for all of Australia, not just VIC & NSW!!

Huge nod to the firefighters, absolute heroes- a huge proportion of which, specially in these smaller, rural communities, are volunteer firefighting services (there's something like 200 000 volunteer "fireys" across the country). The number of people, homes, businesses, communities and wildlife lost to these last few months of fires is heartbreaking.

Thanks so much for the love. Aussies just had struggled through a very very long dry season with droughts. Farmers wrre pushed to the limits and had alot of problems trying to get feed. Then the fires came and we weren't prepared at all for just how far it would quickly spread. Thankfully the skies opened and we finally saw some rain. Massive thanks to all of our volunteer fire fighters. Yeah, most were volunteers who put everything they had to fight those fires and try to save lives. ❤🍺

Just remembering the constant waking up each day to the smell and presence of smoke in the air, we had many family members who were in the RFS (rural fire service) and had concerns for them every time they went out ,and prayed for their safe return. And a world of thanks for all those fireys from around the globe that took their time to come and return the favour that we often do for them. and help their brother firey''s especially those that lost their lives.

The singer is Delta Goodrem, she used to be a member of the Neighbors cast. In the past 8 years I have lost two homes to fires. Australia is known for its fires, sadly. I live in a rural area and we are scared for the summer this year because due to covid we haven't been able to be completely fire ready. I'm a DJ and was in the music industry for years and so many charity events have been held but it's still not enough. We have a Care-re-oke night and raised $19,000. It was just a night of karaoke singers paying to sing instead of doing it for free. It's going to be a hard Xmas for us this year. We lost so many animals and also several humans too. Most of these people, much like me. have had their homes burned down more than once but I would never walk away from my country xxx thank you guys for caring about us, we do appreciate it.

I donated to organisations to help the poor animals, yes I have a big animal heart and they suffer the most , they have a big part of their habitat totally destroyed and they unlike humans can not build it up by themselves. Hugs to all animals in Australia and hope you will recover and sorry as a human for made you so confused and scared and injured, We need to start respect and care about wild animals instead of destroying their homes little by little , And humans at least have a fighting chance to save themselves , the animals do not , for example the koalas did not have a chance to run or hide. They simply was stuck in hellfire and did not know how to get out of it. And the koala that was in the pichture surrounded by fire, his name was Lewis, named after the woman (one of her loved once is called Lewis) who rescued him, but sadly his burns was so bad that they had to let him fall to sleep for forever, Sorry Lewis but at least sweet little koala you do not have any pain now and sleep in peace . And you was surrouned by loving human arms and help in the end and did not have to die in the flames. Rest in peace all animals that did not make it.

The thing with Koalas is when they are scared their instinct tells them to climb to the top of trees…where many of them burn to Death,..Kangaroos and wallabies also have a natural instinct in which they know they have to run fast to get away and as awful as it seems to humans many of the females will expel the pouch Joey to make themselves lighter and able to travel faster. Some of these joeys are found and saved but many die. The reason they do this is because female kangaroo and Wallabies carry two babies at a time. One in the pouch and one the size of a jellybean attached to a nipples on stomach. When the older Joey leaves the embryonic Joey crawls into the pouch attaches itself to the nipples and starts to grow. Natures plan. Although seemingly cruel it has allowed this species to carry on for thousands of years.

The main problem with Australian bush is it gets that dry there is no moisture left therefore no humidity in very crispy dry and vulnerable bush which can burn very fast with thunderstorms with lightning and no rain in the summer can start fires almost anywhere on the countryWe can have fires burning for months without coming into contact with civilisation but unfortunately due sometimes it gets into civilisation

@@cobyehunt6536 I actually live near Armidale in the New England in NSW. We were surrounded by fires for 4 mths and the first people who died in the fires were from Glen Innes in the New England. I also teach at a small rural school and had to mark my students absent because they were at home protecting their families farms from the bushfires. The pink helicopter that crashed in the dam was from Armidale and the pilot is a family friend. So not only am I from Australia, but I lived through the fires long before they impacted the central coast and Sydney. This was also after 3 years of drought. So I will say again, no this is not the worst thing to impact Australia.
@shovelguggelheim8454
@shovelguggelheim8454 3 года назад
@cobye hunt You have obviously forgotten about Black Saturday, Ash Wednesday and Black Friday. This is a common thing in Australia. Some of the fires are seeming to be worse for two main reasons. 1 - There are a lot more houses where there shouldn't be as the population increases. In years gone by a big fire could go through an area but there were no buildings there so it was barely reported. No the fires go through those areas and hundreds of houses are destroyed. 2 - We are getting too good at putting them out when they are small. This prevents the natural fuel reduction burns that would happen by either lightning or lit by the indigenous people who knew how to look after the land. Even Captain Cook's diary states that when they were travelling up the east coast all that they could see by day was smoke and at night the glow from the fires. Not many houses to burn back then.
