Here's the requested transcription of the Bachman- Turner Overdrive song "Let it Ride". This track comes from their 1973 album "Bachman-Turner Overdrive II". The bass player on this track was Fred Turner.

This was the first BTO song I've ever transcribed or learned, which surprises me considering how many bar bands I've played in that I'm Canadian!
I hear BTO's hits on classic rock stations here in Norway at least once a week, and it always makes me proud to know they're Canadian! 😊 I love the story of how Randy Bachman took lessons from the legendary Lenny Breau for a couple of years. It's no surprise that Randy became a lifelong successful musician-imagine the energy and inspiration in those lessons!
I recently watched a live performance of BTO from 2010, and Fred sounded amazing, still belting it out just like the record!
This bass line is both functional and melodic. I focused on the strong downbeats and didn't worry too much about the 16th note ghost notes. I found this made me feel more relaxed and the ghost notes became easier to play.
Use your open strings in spots and get a big sound. It's fun to play along with. I hope you enjoy it too 😊
