I had been a carer for elderly partner who is waiting on placement, so I've had compassion fatigue and unfortunately his family are very self centred people and I rather see the back of them but I still want to be able to talk to him and be there but not in the way I was before. I had to pull right back and it's so nice to have time back again, so I'm wondering if this is the decision I'm needing to make and be selfish about as his daughter is always checking to see if I've rang or visited him!!
