TLDR : it has the fastest possible switch available in a 60% board currently, which makes people attracted to it. No other 60% board has it. the thing which differentiates it from other keyboards, love it or hate it, is the SWITCHES. They are specifically aimed at GAMERS and ESPORT PLAYERS who want possibly the fastest switch available, and it is those consumers who wont are too much about the feel as want they are after is RAW PERFORMANCE.

Faster does not always mean better. Especially when referencing use for online and competitive games that have to travel through many layers of latency, that .1 or .2ms of actuation on a kb is going to get gobbled right up by Either latency from isp, net code from the game, slow servers, anything really.. There are so many anomalies that can happen when playing *Esports* and competitve style games. The real world difference in Gaming with a Linear switch Vs an optical Linear will never be felt by a human. Now just because you see bugha or some of his fans and followers using apex boards, doesn't mean they are better than traditional MX style switches. In theory Optical could be the play one day. Right now they are not as refined as some would like.

David Glass it’s still a good keyboard rather you like it or hate it because of the faster reaction time then any other keyboard and it’ll give an advantage for you to shoot before your opponent does and secure the kill plus it’s mainly meant for gaming esports so you can be faster than your opponent especially if you have 0 ping and every good keyboard is gonna cost around 60 to 100$

yeah but idk but the main selling points is that the razer is that the switches are faster and gives you a comp edge and you can also set macros, which I think it is good for gaming, and thats what the purpose is. So ill let you think abt it

The only other thing I can add to this is that the switches have a faster activation time due to the nature of the optical switches. However, that only really applies to the top 1 percent of people that require that millisecond of response time. However for your average consumer, you're pretty much on point. 120 ish bucks puts this board into the realm of the Mecha Mini. I could only see this being an option if you need a 60 percent board RIGHT NOW from your local best Buy. Not sure who that dude is. Probably the same person Google made Stadia for.

The linear switches on the 60% razer keyboard are significantly quieter than the linear switches on the TKL variant. I just wanted to point that out.

Well after my huntsman TE stopped working I decided I’m done with razers optical switches. 7 random keys stopped working, the RGB Only would glow one color, and the key would go black if it went to a color it wouldn’t display. And the 7 keys also didn’t work, then I’d wake up the next day and the RGB and key would work fine. Then would randomly stop working. Luckily they weren’t super important keys but in the end I got screwed over. It never got wet or dirty either. I cleaned it regularly and never drink at my desk.

everyone can have their own preference.review is just as a reference to get some better understanding with the product that you may not have the chance to hands on. eg. personally despite the noise of the huntsman TE, that is my personal fav keyboard and my main driver. you dont have to listen to any recommend from any reviewer not this channel and not any other channel either. go with your heart.

I bought this keyboard (im typing on it right now) and it actually sounds really good. I plan on getting linears for it later but right now I have the clicky switches and for clicky switches, these sound amazing. Not hating on the review just pointing out for people scrolling through the comments.

Attention: The Blackwidow Mini V3 will not connect with the Razer Viper Ultimate mouse on the same dongle. Even though it says it connects to other Hyperspeed devices, both devices do not connect.

I was reviewing the purple switch board, haven’t tested the reds, yes they sound better but still not good. Ps the apex pro is faster but with more travel. Slap an o ring on it and bam

@@TheTechne I have the Apex Pro. Saying that they are "faster switches" is a loose statement. The Hall Effect and laser interruption are both non-contact switch technologies. The only way that you can claim one is faster than the other is by actuation distance and this is true on the Apex Pro only if you set the switches to setting 1, which very few people will be able to realistically tolerate.

No debouncing, it’s the only reason I still use a huntsman over my custom board for some things. It’s made a noticeable difference in games for me, especially like osu.

I personally hate Razer products based on my own experience of buying more than 10 razer products. However, I still ordered the huntsman mini in purple switch bc I have a huntsman elite and I actually like it. It is my only razer that does not have aby issue. What I am saying is, based on different people have different preference, there is no way to defined the switch is bad or not. And also, if the youtuber himself gives a thumb up to an unfair comment that actually says"sponsor=bad", I don't know if I can trust this person

@NYC2LA because I am stupid and the razer design always gets me. Many times they announced a new product and I say "damn it looks good" and I just buy it. Most of them won't last over 3 monthes without any issue specially their mice. But I gotta say their keyboards are actually ok. I have bought 4 keyboards from razer so far and none of them had issues which is surprising.

Dude here take my sub. I also made a review of this and it is currently loading. I had to post it asap as the "reviews" on RU-vid are way too positive about this. It sounded bad on the videos but they kept saying it has improved and hyping up stuff that was already on the market way way before. Well it has improved since the previous one was bad, but the competition is better and cheaper. After using this, I now think of those content creators not as reviewers but advertisers. You. Just wanted to add that Razer offers Spanish distribution keyboards as well. Which, not many do. Probably won't matter to most, but for me it's definitely something I look for in a keyboard.

FINALLY someone who speaks the legit truth about (most) razer products. I Love razer more than most people (all my peripherals for my PC are razer) But that doesn't mean i'm blind to their faults. Most of their keyboards, mice, and headsets feel so plastic-y and especially their keyboards sound so cheap. I love their looks, their synapse software, and their RGB effects....but for the prices they ask for, the build quality just isn't there.

I normally go for older keyboards as they have decreased in value, such as the Huntsman TE which is now very cheap on amazon. Didn't have issues with the quality though and with the lowered price I think it's a pretty good deal.

This is an awesome review but just want to say I just got this keyboard (along with the viper mini) and love it! It feels great to type on and I'm not used to using such a high quality looking and feeling keyboard compared to my logtech g810 and keychron k2 which you loved. I understand that this keyboard may not be a great value for the money ducky keyboards you can only get on one site that's always sold out and I really don't want to go through the hassle of buying and returning keyboards online because it's so hard to choose from what else I want to get. Best buy made it easy for me to get this and I could've easily returned this if I hated it. One of the best features on this keyboard is that it works with the mouse to hypershift and convert the keys to do another command and no other keyboard seems to do this. This is well worth the 120 dollars so far for me!

Best argument for getting this over the Mecha Mini would probably be switch lifespan, since contactless switches are obviously gonna last infinitely longer. Another would be getting a light clicky switch as opposed to the much heavier mx style clickys. Basically yeah, only get it if you really like Optical Libras

For this price get a Ducky Mecha Mini. It's so much better in build quality (molded aluminum). My keys do not shake around like that at all. Nice and heavy too, almost 900g. Oh also per key lighting built into the board along with multiple profiles. There are some dip switches on the back that modify a few things like making caps lock the function key instead and another one switches the function and windows key to bring in closer to your pinky. You can even control your mouse with WASD and function.

My Huntsman TKL was unusable after a few months as the stabilizer completely broke when I took the cap off to clean. I’ve never had that happen with any of my keyboards, so I’m sorta staying away for now.

I've used alot of switches, from cherry & gateron blues, Kaihl Pro Light Greens, NK Blueberry's and more. And I honestly purchased the mini because the clicky keys just hit different, AND it's part of the razer environment. I agree it's a bit too expensive but you pay for a couple things: the relatively unique switches, the razer "environment", the pbt keycaps with the secondary functions labeled and a more accessible warranty versus a chinese manufacturer or vendor. Fact of the matter is, many other boards out there don't deliver the same things compared to the huntsman mini. I personally have never found a switch I like more than the clicky opticals. If razer offered them as individual hotswap switches, I would grab those. Good review either way, but other reviewers (badseed tech for example) brought up the pricepoint versus it's competition in a fair fashion.

Bad seed did have a solid review, I agree. And like I said in the video, this board is for people that really enjoy the a4tech/razer Switch, or just brand loyalty. Other than that there are many many others out there with 10x better value

People get fooled by Razer saying this is an aluminum case. The rim is aluminum but not the case. I would definitely go with the mecha mini. The only problem is the waiting for the mecha mini lol.

I bought the Huntsman Elite 4 months ago with the Purple Switches because we only have theses in France lol that's frustrating) Was obviously hyper hyped for these new opto switches. But, knowing that i couldn't try it in any store, i didn't noticed the BIG PINGING NOISE that almost any switch have when pressing with low-mid force. And that's very annoying, like very very annoying. 4 months after, i'm a bit dissappointed by these switches.. Well, at the same time i love these (light and the click is awesome) but rly the pinging noise... argh This is due to these (useless ?) stabilizers, this is sad :/

for esport pros, huntsman mini imo can be a great choice, uses optical switches which gives lowest latency and especially the linear reds are quite good. The typists can go for mecha mini

What was that white keyboard that you were using for a sound comparison

I am confused. When you reviewed the Huntsman Elite TE you raved about the optical linear switches and sound. Am I missing something?

No I hated the sound, and in multiple videos about the TE I stated the sound is horrible and unusable for me. I stated it was a good board and still stand by that if you like the loud sound. PS the TE is cheaper than this one currently. This mini is worth 75$ man, 100$ of your a big razer fan. I also covered your question in this video

The Techne Thanks for the feedback ..I must have missed that. Love your content. I am slowly trying to ween myself from Razer, not because there is anything awful but because I know there has to be better stuff out there (as you point out often). Thanks man!

Just bought the huntsman mini but i would havge bought the gk61 or anee pro 2 or ducky mecha mini if just they were available without shipping fees in my country bcs with the fees they come at around 150 dollars and the mini is around 140 dollars and the time it takes to get to my house is literally 2 days

This is the best mechanical switch I've ever felt on a keyboard (red version) . Wish it was 65%. Are there any other switches with rubber dampeners on the inside?

kinda late to the party but I wkeant to ask this. i have been wanting to buy a 60% keyboard for a while. I was think about buying this one since I'm big on razer but then I learned all the bad stuff it has. Even tho the ducky one 2 mini is like 50 dollars costier is it worth it buying? if not which should i buy?
