Saffron Olive had a tweet about them. It was something along the lines of, "Teferi, when he went back in time to observe the Brother's War, stopped in the 1980s and watched some Saturday Morning Cartoons."
Equipment and auras stay on creatures while they convert or transform as long as the other side is still a legal target. So you won’t have to equip each time Starscream flips
I like this deck you've made! If I were building it, I'd run Teferi's Puzzle Box to draw a lot of cards per turn. Additionally, I'd add artifacts like Sculpting Steel, so that I could double up on important artifacts like the Puzzle Box and Howling Mine. I might also consider artifacts that double up triggered effects, so that I could get multiple Box triggers. If Starscream were in Esper, I'd focus on a clone sub-theme using non-legendary token generators as well as Mirror Gallery.
Dang that's spicy, fitting both Cabal Coffers and Phyrexian Arena in the $100 budget I was thinking Curtains Call, Snuff Out, Soul Shatter could be some removal to consider too, I was brewing this deck and saw this for some ideas, more or less the same train of thought.
it does if you convert starscream back to his vehicle side on another player's turn. since starscream converts when you lose monarch, it can happen quite easily
I love my Starscream deck and while I agree that feast of succession is on theme, I am compelled to take it out. It's a sorcery, so it can only be played on your turn, which means Starscream is a creature on his jet side (because I am assuming we don't have the monarch). But he only has 3 toughness, so he'll die as soon as you become monarch, so you're missing out on the whole point of getting monarch in the first place. Is it more so for the sake of having a minor board wipe?
@@commanderbydaenen right. Ive been using this budget list and i love it so far so i was thinking of upgrading. Just pulled esquiste blood from a 2020 jumpstart and was thinking of putting it in to offset all the life im paying to draw. I also added the one ring, and witch king of angmar. The witch king im not so sure about, but i added it as a way to deter people from swinging at me as monarch.
I like using effects like Blitzwing, Archfiend of Despair and Wound Reflection= become monarch draw cards, endstep deals more loss of life and they stack if you got 2 of them out, ex: draw 5 cards with Starscream as monarch, deals 10 damage, endstep deal another 10 damage from Blitzwing, deal another 20 damage from Archfiend of Despair/Wound Reflection. 5 card draw at this point is basically lethal for a whopping 40 damage... Or Blitzwing and Archfiend of Despair deal 9 damage in combat go to endstep, do another 9 and than 18 totaling 36 damage LOL PS: Thematically adding Hatred (get the gold bordered version for cheap) and a little Lifelink to Starscream can be really silly ;p
Blitzwing is hands down my favorite commander I've got. I love running him with things like Quietus Spike, Scourge of the Skyclaves, Blood Tribute, Shard of the Nightbringer, and now the new Rush of Dread from Thunder Junction. Just insta kill players going into the end step. So many of the Transformers are underrated.
Starscream is my favorite Transformer but his design is kinda wonky. He seems kinda tough to get back onto the robot side. Also he really needed to say each opponent loses 2 when you draw. A strong Psychosis Crawler with restrictions.
He flips to bot side whem you become monarch. Seems easy w/ a hasty, flying menacer. "Each opponent" would be too strong & unflavorful. He only wants to kill the leader.
