I run Wilhelt as my commander and if phyrexian altar is on the field and gravecrawler is in the grave it goes infinite. I have carrion feeder and champion of the parished which go infinitely tall. Meathook, bastion of remembrance, to infinitely drain the table. PURE JANK with tutors included. If I have Scarab God out but no drain, the next turn i drain for whatever arbitrary number i wish and i have gray merchant if i need health. A fun one is to toss "Gary" gray merchant out, sac him and use Scarab God to bring him back for double triggers and I also use diregraf captain for targeted drain. My deck is kill on sight in my pod. Fastest win was turn 5. I love my Wilhelt deck ❤
Consider paradox haze as another way of doubling Scarab God's upkeep triggers - paired with throne or bloodletter things can get pretty spicy, and with that much scrying youre nearly tutoring each turn from the top 10+ cards of your library.
I run paradox haze for an additional upkeep. I also run Sidisi, undead visier to combo with rooftop and lili untouched by death. This combo lets you play all the zombies in the deck and kill your opponents with Gary
What is the thought behind Acererak? Are you completing the dungeon in hopes you can get it on the field and attacking? Are you cheating it to the graveyard and recurring with Scarab God ability or something else to get around it being sent back to your hand? I'm confused by that pick
He can make an infinite combo with Rooftop Storm but besides that, this pick confuses me too. Trying to complete Tomb of Annihilation just with his ETB is quite inefficient to say the least.
With Rooftop Storm and Acererak, if no one has a response to Acererak’s ETB, it’s a sudden I win combo. Completing the dungeon that drains each opponent for 1 life and you gaining 1 life leads to an infinite combo win. Assuming that you have enough cards in your library compared to the highest life total between your opponents. In order to complete the dungeon over and over again one of the rooms has you draw a card. Besides that it’s most likely that you’ll infinite combo and win the game on the spot.
I really like Dimir Machinations as a cheap tutor for the altars. Muddle the Mixture also works but only as a tutor FOR Demonic Tutor, while being a counterspell.
