This is an interesting idea. I've had some wave-shaping ideas that could have benefited from modulatable shape points in Scrawl. I ended up using MERGE to blend between several Scrawls, but one scrawl with modulatable shape points would have accomplished this better.
This is cool stuff, thank you. This will definitely help me make voices more interesting. I tend to reach for the same tiny bag of familiar modules every time, but I'm seeing now that there's a lot more stuff there.
I migrated over from FL Studio. Maybe I just never used FL's piano roll to the highest capacity but I am impressed with the amount of ground that Bitwig covers for piano-roll functionality -- it's more than fine. We've got the 1-5 hotkeys for common tools and [ . ] and [ , ] with alt modifiers for changing the grid spacing. We even have *micro pitch expression editing* that is a sweet way to add note slide (note slide being an FL feature that I was happy to see Bitwig do in the MPE way). I'm new at this, but I think its pretty good. Sure, I miss some modifiers like flam. Just curious, what features did you want for the piano roll?
When I was young you could get these Airmail envelopes that were just a sheet of paper that you wrote your letter on and then folded up into an envelope with the stamps already on and postage paid those were unusual envelopes
Let’s build… basic DAW functionality like a nice piano roll, midi capture. Ahhhh, nevermind, let’s build our own super meta adsr mseg super distortion inside of the Grid.
@@badabangofficial It is so bizarre. How can you believe ignoring this request for years is not gonna hurt the customer relationship. Through their absolute ignorance I have no other option than to believe that hey must be absolutley out of their minds.. A DAW where you cant see the gridlines through the clips. Say that out loud. Like a car without wheels. No gridlines, no money dear Bitwig devs. Just listen. It just cant be too much to ask for!
@@wrxnglove I’ll stick with Bitwig. I love it, but proper basics need to be adressed. It is already by far the most versatile and deep DAW. Many people probably think it’s their dream daw, if some of the aforementioned things become adressed. Shouldn’t be too difficult either - we’re not asking for flashy stuff, but basics, basics basics
I like Bitwig because it has a very simple workflow. But I'm often annoyed by the look of the interface. I don't understand why I can colorize an audio/midi file, but can't colorize the arranger panel. Probably when you have 8 tracks in your project in Bitwig it is convenient to work in Bitwig, but when there are more and the colors on the tracks are slightly similar, it is very bad. For example, in the mixer, I constantly have to move my mouse cursor up and down to make sure I don't get the wrong track. Also gui markers seem to be convenient, but it would be better if the top could be something like a “color bar” to identify the part of the track and it says what part of the project. I suppose that it is not worth asking for themes for Bitwig, because it is unlikely to ever do, but at least give the opportunity to do what I described above.
its about creativity in sound not about visualizations i guess , and in the mixer try the folders options (grouping them ) it seems you have another workflow (old daw habits)
@@Italliving Thanks for the advice, but it's not about workflow. I wrote that I'm happy with the workflow. It's a matter of how big your monitor is and how far away it is.
@@michail_777 No problem, i have a 58" Curved monitor so i can't complain in any way , but grouping helps a lot as you can select in folders top left so you more focus on the section you need, but its what you prefer of course, cheers and happy producing
