Kira first came out as the dolls of the world Oriental Barbie, but I do have the tropical Milo from my childhood and I LOVED her! She was my favorite face mold as a kid! She's also been named Nia, Dana, Nikki, Becky...so many names! I have UCOB clothing (for myself) but no dolls or doll clothing. I hope to find them at a flea market or thrift store someday (where I buy most of my Barbies). Thanks for the video and for showing the clothing pieces individually. ☺️

Thank you so much for watching and for the clarification! This is such a pretty Barbie face, I think Mattel has been using it in the playline recently and it's so great to see it again! :)

I am so glad that you did this video, because the doll I mentioned is definitely the Kira face Mold. I can't tell you what she was wearing when I got her back in the 90's, but she had held up so well..and that hair..amazing! And I have been wanting to rebody her, but wasn't sure..so now you are giving me ideas! I did get her in Texas and it seemed at the time "Hispanic" came to mind, but I wasn't sure. I think many cultures are always trying to find a Barbie that matches their culture and this doll does give a lot to being of Hispanic or Asian which wasn't happening all that often during the 90's. My Kira or Nico is in a bride's maid dress. And I am still shocked that spots haven't showed up on her bendable legs yet. Like you, I generally get a Barbie on sale.

It's so interesting that you mention this! Back in the 90s when I started collecting, I had a friend who got her niece a Kira doll because the doll had dark hair like her niece. My friend, her niece, and I are all white, but out of all the dolls in the line, my friend thought Kira most resembled her niece, even after I explained that Kira was supposed to be Asian. So I think you are right, people are often trying to find dolls that look like them. It's a very interesting topic for sure!

I love the Benetton dolls! If I find one at Savers I’d scoop it up. I’m trying to limit my collection to the late 70s Barbies until the early 90s. When I was at Savers in Newington last Saturday I picked up Loving You Barbie and Fashion Jeans Barbie. I was so surprised that both dolls had their original clothes still on. I know that Savers have older naked Barbies in the bags but I can’t identify a doll just by looking at her face lol. I also saw 1985 Tropical Fun Miko there as well. She was wearing her original bathing suit. Being that I was already purchasing 2 dolls that day I put her back. Which now, after watching this video I wish I’d grabbed her lol!!! Anyway, I was at Savers on Tuesday and she was gone.

I know some people can identify Barbies just by their eye paint and stuff like that but I can't do it either! I don't have a good enough memory for one thing lol Thrifting is so hit or miss but I guess that's what makes it fun lol I went to the Goodwill in Middletown for the first time ever this weekend and they didn't have any Barbies so now I know I never have to go there again lol

Thank you! 😊 It was a fun clothing line back in the day for sure! I keep hoping I will find Teresa and Christie from this line at a thrift shop - fingers crossed :)

I’ve never had good luck at Good Will finding Barbies around here. I’ve been to several in the state and have come out empty handed.
