Thanks Grisha for sharing some of your background with us, and keeping the highest standards of Flamenco playing alive in the footsteps of Paco de Lucia. It's clear that very hard work, being 5' 9" tall, having a very talented parent to teach you, and humility is a great combination for success.

Good man Grisha - 70s kids rule! Thanks for telling us about yourself... i really appreciate your lessons - they have helped me change my approach to practice... im the opposite to you i have been playing electric guitar for years but since i bought a flameco guitar I am hooked. The techniques are a great challenge and you teach them really clearly.

Grisha, it's great to hear your talk, you never changed bro. Top 3 most humble people I met in my life (I cannot remember the other two). I took some private lesson at the New England conservatory sometime in 2009 back when I thought I had what it takes to play flamenco. He taught me a bulerias and a soleares and showed me how to play Paco Peña Rumbeando la Milonga. He played (If I remember correctly) a limited edition Martin with a sound port that used to make the upright piano in the room hum with resonance. Grisha introduced me to Thai tea at a neighboring restaurant. He recounted the story with Paco and he often talked about his dad's positive influence. It was the highlight of my short-lived musical "career" to listen and learn from him. I hope to see you in concert sometime soon.

Wow, what a humble man you are, Grisha. You're a phenomenal guitarist. And also it always seems funny to me that people think that someone was born being good at something... You had to work a lot and practice and more likely say NOto many things to get where you are: this is the message everyone should be giving, in my opinion, so thank you for that. Keep doing this videos, I subscribed!

Grisha, often I've seen you play live and it's a huge blessing. Once, at one of Eliot's parties, back when you were still quite shy, it seemed, you were totally off the hook that night, dumping your heart in your guitar, in a zone. I had a digital recorder hooked up in the front room where you sat alone playing while everybody else was exercising Stephan's new guitars elsewhere. After about four hours, when the party was breaking up, I went in to recover my recording, but when I picked up the machine the cord fell out and I lost it all in a flat second! I nearly burst into tears right there. But the best is often that way, unreproducible, I've learned. Fortunately I have the bootleg recording of your Senior Recital which I totally LOVE-- and have worn out several CD's of it. These many words are just my way of thanking you, saying how much I admire you as a human, yes, but as The Maestro--Paco's legacy in the flesh. Thanks for these videos; they're wonderful--and the rare guitars are spectacular! I'm so glad you stuck with flamenco where, IMO, you reign supreme. Stay well and happy. Carla

Hi Grisha! I've been a fan of yours for quite a few years and I totally respect you as a person and guitarist. Paco de Lucia changed me like that, when I first heard him, rock guitar became secondary. I saw him in concert in 2012 and I also got his autograph. I also saw Vicente Amigo here in Savannah GA. I hope you come here one day!! I was fortunate to see Ana Vidovic in concert and I met her afterwards. I am one of those because it is more than about speed and technique...He is not just playing guitar, he is playing flamenco...It is about softness, sweetness, passion, anger, pain...Lots of feelings...When one plays flamenco too fast evenly most of the time these feelings cannot come through accordingly in different expressions, ....Paco de Lucia played fast, slow, soft, strong, with lots of feeling...The part of feeling is not so evident here...That is what I perceived and I consider him to be very good...As a matter of fact he is the only non-Spanish I like so far throughout my life...
