how much a board foot do you charge. I was thinking I might drive up their from st louis mo. I am a hobbyist and I am looking for some about 6" by 10" by 6 foot, and 12" by 18" by 6 foot pieces ,about 10 six foot pieces each of those 2 sizes, maybe some a little bigger.

@@johnbishop5926 I would need cut something like that once the snow goes. I have up to 4" right now cut last summer maybe 8" wide.

I would say definetly try to sell it if you can. I wish I was close enough I would come get it for sure. 2" to 4" thickness is what works best. Most of the carving wood we buy is Kiln dried so it don't warp or crack. Good luck! Hope you find someone keep us posted. Thanks for Watching

What I do is have contact with a couple services and have them hold back a couple of logs from the chipper.

Yeah I think most all bird carvers and roughouts for birds are Tupelo

@@BasswoodCarving i cut down my two biggest basswood trees one was alot taller than my 3 story home the second one almost as big i need to sell them the county cut them down for me since they were inches from the highway into my town.anyone interested let me know i`ll take pictures in a private message if your a serious buyer.i`m located north central iowa.

Try Tupelo thats what most bird carvers use.

Not sure what you mean. It is a softwood and depends on what you want to use it for.
