I love the farmer's market videos! The variety of vendors and all the different things they sell. Watching you sell out or almost sell out is always great and to watch your interactions with customers.
Pete, you are a man of many talents. I’ve learned a lot from watching you. For instance the story about precious Peanut with his health issues. You explained things in a way that could be understood. I also love it when you just walk around and share your animals with us while you do your daily chores. I enjoy it all!!
I again am totally blown away by your “like to view” ratio - at my viewing you had over 4000 likes to just over 15,000 views. You just don’t see that type of positive feedback here on RU-vid very often at all - speaks volumes.
Pete, you are a great story teller and that makes your channel very interesting. Yes, we would love to hear the stories of people but know people become shy when you turn on your camera. Please continue your efforts to tell people's stories. Everyone has a story to tell if they can be encouraged to share some tidbits for a few moments.
Your market day videos always leave me feeling hopeful about the rural American life. Some traditions just don't die out no matter what political nonsense is currently going on---folks gotta eat, pick up needed home goods, and to browse. It's what we do---probably a lot like stress relieving, eh? Thanks for another heart warming video, Pete.
Do what makes YOU happy Pete, the success of your channel is because of how passionate you are about what you do on the farm and with your family . If you don't enjoy doing the restoration videos, then don't! Will they be missed, absolutely! But a burned out Pete isn't a fun one to live with for your family or for us to watch. thanks for all the education through these videos Pete!
Not sure what you are going for in terms of audio when you were mentioning your microphone. If you are looking to capture the whole “ambiance” of the farmers market i would say you did a pretty good job. Either way, great video.
Hi Brendan, thanks! I would like to capture both the ambiance and the conversations with customers. I think a combination of omnidirectional and lapel mics will do it.
Great video. I appreciate how you tucked that hat back under as i was before picking it up. Little kindnesses like that make me appreciate your content more.
I’ve just realised what you call rutabaga we know it as Swede in the Uk , lovely roasted then mashed with Butter and lots of black pepper absolutely delicious , and we also mix it with carrot for our roast dinners
Pete!!! Robins jumping around in the backyard...... Daffodils sprouting up here and there...... The Phillies starting up on Friday.... ......and now Pete & Hillary are back at the Farmer's Market!! How I love the signs of Spring's arrival! Please keep up the "good" work. Rich from PA.
I loved this video! In another life, I used to sell artisan soaps and other handmade items at a farmers' market in a small Pennsylvania town. I don't miss the mad weekly rush to get products ready for market, but I miss the connection with the growers and artists, as well as the customer interaction. Your video today brought back all those great memories!
The most beautiful thing in the market is you who make the effort to eat and drink good food and drink because you are diligent and wonderful farmers. Greetings to you and your family. Stay well
I really enjoy and appreciate your well rounded videos Pete! From the grasses in to field, to the animals you raise, your equipment maintenance, and selling your goods. You by far have the most thorough and complete videos about what a small farm is and where it sells. Anytime someone asks me about farm to table, supporting local, or even what is local produced, I point them to you first, and another channel that discusses more midwest farming farming although they sell less locally.
Hey. So my opinion...I rather enjoy all your videos about your farm. Especially like listening to your opinions on life and business. I understand your apprehension on the machine videos but it's nice to see someone going through processes like that even while making some mistakes. Keep up the good work. Look forward to whatever you put out there.
Pete, just a note to tell you how much I enjoy every segment of your videos. I find them all so entertaining and informative. It's very difficult to put into words what you , your family, your way of defining each episode means to your audience. You and Hilary have something special. Bob
hey pete. just wanted to say that every since i came across your channel you continue to bring so much positivity, humor, and motivation. i am glad you had such a good day on the first day at the farmer market season. as i am writing this comment, i am currently watching your newest video upload today which i was the first to like and view when you had posted it 33 seconds ago when i got the notification. With that said I have been keeping up with each video since I came across your page, Keep up the good work. Your videos are so educational, inspirational, uplifting, and encouraging. If only more people were like you and your family the world would be a better place!
Pete it appears that this market is a great asset to your farm business ,it looks like a great setup and draws a large crowd buyers I'm glad to see you did so well great video.
Great video! Your farmers market is so much different than any I'm familiar with. The venders seem to be friendly folks and the buyers are polite and talkative and appreciate what all the venders have to offer. I'm glad you had a good and maybe added some new customers and also renew old ones .
I really enjoy seeing what all is at the market. thank you for showing super glad to see you have loyal customers and are able to continuously busy while at the market.
Maybe ask the other farmers if you could visit and do an interview at their farm. Set up an appointment. That way they can mentally prepare to be on camera. Get a quick 10-cent tour and then get into the meat of the interview. I LOVE learning about other farmers' stories of how they got started, WHY they are farming, and some of the challenges they've overcome. That would be awesome content for your channel!!!
i Love watching you at the farmer's market! farmer's market means it is Spring time! Love watching your Awesome videos! i Love going to the farmer's market when ever i can. :) :)
I love your Farmer’s Market videos, love the interaction with the people, seeing people buying locally grown/made products, seeing other people’s booths, etc.
Pete, maybe the farmers that are camera shy could provide still photos that would illustrate their stories (Ken Burns!). So much enjoy watching your channel and the thoughtful eloquence you bring to all you portray.
Awesome video Pete and thanks for sharing. I agree, what a blessing to be in a small town and thanks for the reminder of what normal looks like for those of us in the big city. Again thank you!
Wow! great market Pete, glad you sold out on your Eggs, and meats that you brought. I loved the cutting boards. i dabble in wood projects. and my wife loved the hats. she is the craftsperson in the family, crocheting, needlepoint ,etc we have an outside market here in Western Ma. at a local mall parking lot. that we go to each week when it starts and we do grow few things our selves Cukes, tomatos, rubarb, peas, etc. small beds around the house nothing too big. so we still need to improve our green thumbs. but its fun and we know what we're eating. What scares me the most is the "out of country stuff we see at the major markets. I shutter to think of how some of that is produced etc. but its a sign of the times we are now dependent on off shore producers of everything to line the pockets of the sellars who bring that stuff in. American made is a thing of the past I'm afraid. I would love to see it turn around but I fear my life will be long gone and that will not happen in it's time. thanks for sharing love it. ECF
What a fun place to shop , just the building alone is a great feeling now add in all the vendors and shoppers... that what we need more of is that good safe feeling of good people all around, thanks again!
Any time you sell out and don’t have to bring stuff home. That’s an awesome day. Oh ya Hillary said those eggs you dropped are going to cost you big time. It’s so great to see farmers market doing well and you can actually see the customers faces. Thanks Pete
Very nice episode pete. The market must be a very rewarding element of your farming operation. Meeting the customers brings it full circle. Looking forward to more content. Thanks for sharing.
Ithaca was a destination my father used to bring us kids every "Third Thursday" of September, where, at Cornell University, they used to host a big "Experiment Station" of fruit. My dad had a vineyard and small orchard where he knew every hill of grapes by variety number and type! We walked Watkins Glen many times over the years! Didnt realize your farmers market was in Ithaca! Gotta get back and walk the Glen before I get too old!! Thanks again for the delightful episode at the market. Love your idea of interviewing other merchants. Hope it works out.
