You know it's an old video when STAR_ is actually playing as STAR_ and not something wacky like 'ham sandwich' or 'PenguinOnAHouseboat' or even 'FestivusVonRumtickle'.
@@farkrits Nah it can kill up to Pyros and Demos too if you make use of a guaranteed crit exploit for the wrap assassin that is well-known among Scout mains nowadays. Keep in mind critical-hit wrap assassin balls do 45 base damage instead of the usual 15. That paired with 40 damage worth of bleed will make it deal 85 damage on its own. Pair that with the cleaver which will deal 50 damage base and 40 damage bleed (90 damage) you will get 175 damage total, which is enough to take out all 7/9 classes provided they can't reach a healthkit, and it practically insta-kills light classes with how quickly the bleed will add up from 95 base damage. If you want the closest thing possible to the sheer power output of the old combo, this is your go-to. Keep in mind the exploit only works on random-crit enabled servers.
+UnknownAnon I have been subscribed to him for years and used to watch these videos when they were new, too. He feels more genuine and sounds like he's actually having fun, the more recent tf2 videos feel like he was forced to make them and just ends up being self-ironic or taking it too seriously. But I still enjoy all the videos he makes. This is naturally just my opinion.
+UnknownAnon The current ones are very good, with a lot of editing and stuff, there's just not enough of them in my opinion. I like the old videos enough to wish he would still come up with live commentaries from time to time.
This is the first time i've seen one of your videos. I love how you post the stuff you miss as well. Fun and entertaining gameplay for everyone to watch. Thank you for posting!
" maybe we should just hang back and let our balls recharge, you're supposed to be super safe when doing this type of stuff " *fuck, that was beautiful star, it is a goal of mine to just let lines like that out with a poker face so good you cant even tell if they noticed*
Cleaver-Scattergun combo is BY FAR my favourite combo, because you can stay fairly far off and hit someone with the cleaver, and then go in closer and finish them off with the Scattergun. Especially with the fact that the cleaver inflicts bleed damage for 6 seconds AFTER inflicting 55-57 damage at any range. They compliment each other like the Rocket Jumper and the Market Gardener :P
I am an amazing stuncleaver scout. A good strategy to getting hits with the cleaver is to either (a) throw the cleaver instantly after hitting the ball, which means that if you miss with the ball you miss with the cleaver, or (b), to hit with the ball first, then wait a second, and then throw it. Most players stunned pick a direction and run in it, so if they run forward, you just throw in front of them. If they run back, throw a cleaver behind them.
STAR_, i want to see u use the babyfaces blaster and the guillotine, and the wrap assassin. use the extra speed to get right up in peoples faces and make them bleed! (then run away!) like so he sees it please!!!!! i use this loadout, and i think that it is very good! PLEASE STAR_!
What the actual fuck. I've been rewatching old star videos recently, and when the medic that starts healing you at 2:12, I was so confused when "Lightpaws" came up on the screen. That's my boyfriend. We met six years ago. I remember watching this video back 8 years ago when it first came out. What a fucking coincidence.
Tips for newbs: As scout, I miss alot and I've noticed that I do much better with a primary with a high clip size. So if you are having trouble, go Baby Face's Blaster, Short Stop, or even the stock shotgun.
So many opportunities where you didn't have to use the sandman and just the guillotine would've been enough. That's why I switched off the Sandman bat almost immediatly, because you tend to miss way more Guillotines when people are stunned and aware of you then at a moment when they're not aware of you at all. Your scattergun does the rest.
hey Francis Dapanas , ive downloaded his hud and navigated to his resource/ui folder, but what file(s) do i copy and where do i put it in my steam files?
i work pretty well with those, just you need to get used to having painfully small clip and have habit to launch sandman balls and most likely to stun your target.
FUCK THE WHOLE GOOGLE If it's so lame, why does STAR_ count the Pocket Pistol as one of the most useful, and in quite a few of his recent Scout vids he uses the Force-A-Nature.
"It may look like I'm dying and not accomplishing anything but I am having fun dying, that's what really counts." Ster getting really deep with his words.
actualy, i´ve did some research and you´ve almost got the perfect scout wep set. according to tf2 forums and tf2 wiki, how to get the best loadout for scout is only equip the soda popper with your sandman and the flying guillotine. just charge up your hype with the soda popper, ude the sandman when hype active, hit an enemy and use quickly the flying guillotine. et voila monsieur (what i learned in french class)
You know, using strange weapons you don't usually use is a good way to get good at them. For example: I was going to buy a strange pistol for my scout, but I was using a strange guillotine at the time and decided to stick with it after not being able to afford the pistol. 368 kills later and I'm gunshot briding the crap out of anyone who dares join the other team with the sandman + cleaver combo. So if you're struggling with a class, get a strange. It helps a lot.
Myawesomebox The placebo effect even comes to play with the new killstreak weapons. Mainly I'm playing heavy and I'm pretty good at it but my new killstreak minigun made me change my playing style alot. I'm switching alot between agressive and defensive playing only to save the streak on my gun. That makes you faster at looking at and judging a situation. Streaks over 20 are kind of common for me now.
