When I watch your videos, you always feel like the big brother I never had. Someone to look upto and feel inspired. I never had a role model, I think I do now. I have started my first term of MS in Comp Science in Aus. Last few weeks have been really hectic and havent yet got any accommodation to stay in this new city. And I am so far away from home. Some times it gets really lonely and I watch your videos to remind myself why I am here and what sacrifices I need to make to become 'someone' in life. Thank you Quantum boy for being the brother I never had!

Wow, I’m just thinking how I found this channel by searching “PhD at Harvard.” I watched your “Day in the life” video. Expected to see work. I did. However, seeing this side of your channel is another reason why I’m starting to aspire to a PhD at Harvard. Open up more life and opportunities. There may be some things that only Harvard can provide. We’ll see. 💕
This piece is meaningful and informative but not in the way it intended. There is something revealing here about the contrast between appreciation of the genuine joys of life and weird materialistic fantasizing. It shows a piece of the American psyche that I detest, that we so often appreciate these joys and, rather than question why we let some wealthy people have them and others not, wonder how we can become one of those wealthy people. We assume that these joys represent the end goal of a meritocratic system, rather than what they actually are, a freedom which we should extend to as many as we can. And we can’t do that, we can’t make the world a better place, by all chasing our own American dreams. “I’m putting my money in the stock market, so that one day I can drive a car in the parade, just like those Wall Street guys” Trying to live a good life through attaining wealth is okay, but when that fantasizing replaces political action it becomes harmful. Because, to fantasize about being one of those Wall Street guys is to on some level accept that the system that allowed them to be there did so because they deserve it more than others. And when you orient your life around reaching the top of that system, you stop questioning whether it should exist. We must be more critical of systems than this. Try to live a good life, but don’t try to live out an American Dream, it’s just a lie that empowers the wealthy and keeps the poor from asking too many questions.
Idk if I can get in Harvard or Cambridge or any excellent college outside my country ,because where I live it's nearly impossible But your videos give me hope And drive to keep going. Thank you
