Welcome to this English lesson about sound! In this free English class I'll teach you words and phrases that you'll need to know to talk about sound in your next English conversation.
In this lesson you'll learn words and phrases like: hearing aid, muffled, volume, turn it up, turn it down, sound effect, sound wave, microphone, speed of sound, speaker, decibel, loud, quiet, listen, hear, and more!

Pitch is measured in hertz and it denotes how high or low a sound is and is mostly known as the frequency of the sound wave. While loudness is measured in decibels and is mostly known as the amplitude of the sound wave. Ultrasound is any sound wave whose frequency is above 20000 hertz / 20 kHz. Teacher Bob, what would be one great way to teach English to a Spanish speaking audience?
@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian
I would start with making sure they know the most common 500 words in both languages.
@squairgg

Can I say?" He is out of ear".
@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian
We would not say that. We would say, "He is losing his hearing." or "He is hard of hearing." or "He has hearing loss." 😎📸🎤
@mirajmustafa9213
@mirajmustafa9213 Год назад
@@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian But my co-worker used to say, pointing at his ear " I'm out of ear" or that is " I'm out here". Probably I didn't get it exactly what he said but he meant i have hearing loss, plz talk louder.
@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian
@@mirajmustafa9213 Hmm. We have a phrase, "Out of earshot." If you are far away and I can't hear you I would say that I'm out of earshot. But if he was saying he had trouble hearing then maybe he was saying it wrong or you misheard him. 😎📸🎤
