I have been trying to understand the difference between ing and present continuous in Thai การ กำลัง and Myanmar language တာ ရတာ, I haven't been able to understand until I watched this. Then I am sure Lao has them too ການ ກຳລັງ ការ កំពុង การ กำลัง ການ ກຳລັງ ရတာ တာ The ing verb turns into a noun. I like "cooking". Which means I am not doing cooking as I speak. Then the other ing. I am cooking. Which suddenly makes more sense. ខ្ញុំកំពុងធ្វើម្ហូប អរគុណករូ

Aakon bong 🙏🏻 If I can make a wish for a future video. Can you please say something about the language in the old classic khmer songs? You already teach a lot about formal/informal way of saying things, which is great, but if I ask khmer friends about meaning of words in songs it’s just different words from what I learned already. It would be super nice if you could walk us through the lyrics of an old and classic khmer song ❤️

I had to look it up too; ger·und /ˈjerənd/ Learn to pronounce nounGRAMMAR a form that is derived from a verb but that functions as a noun, in English ending in -ing, e.g., asking in do you mind my asking you?. Definitions from Oxford Languages

Noeng luag.......kae graoy. Is it necessary to say noeng if you have said kae graoy?

How do I discern if a verb gets Gaa or gom bpung? Is it just something that has to be learned for each individual verb or is there some easier way to know which verbs get which prefix?
@Dara-TheKhmerLesson
@Dara-TheKhmerLesson 3 года назад
You can notice with Verb To Be (am/is/are). Without Verb Tobe you can use Gaa but if with Verb Tobe, you have to see if it is Pre. Continue or Future.
