I enjoyed your video. Tried the link for Miranda Lamberts video so I could try playing along for practice but it wouldn't run. The others I've found seem slightly different tempo. I liked the one you tried to share best. Do you know of a place I could get the complete song? Thanks again

I was blown away by how quickly you picked it up and could play it back competently and prep the sheet music. I am a complete beginner and I haven't been very good at picking up the guitar at all. Any suggestions for someone that struggles to learn the basics?

Thank you so much! And, thanks for watching! As for suggestions for improving, here are a few: 1. Be patient with yourself. Learning to play the guitar is a lifetime effort. I'm still learning, that's for sure! 2. Play everyday. Make guitar playing part of your lifestyle. Good players play everyday. Notice I'm not saying practice. Just play everyday. 3. Learn songs. If you spend an hour playing, two-thirds of that time should be spent learning, improving or just playing songs. Don't bog down your playing with exercises and scales. They're important and should be studied, but they should not make up the bulk of your time with the guitar. 4. Find friends who also play music, especially people who have more experience than you. Singers, other guitarists, keyboardists....whoever! Play with them! You'll learn so much and stay motivated too. 5. Lastly, find a good teacher. I teach private guitar lessons as my main source of income and although it is clearly self-serving, I can't stress enough how helpful a friendly and knowledgeable teacher can be. Find one who is a better teacher than a player and you'll be a happy student. (I don't mean that she should be a terrible guitar player. She should be an excellent player. I mean that her passion for teaching should outweigh her passion for playing.) Good luck and thanks for the kind words again!

@@EarleWood Thank you, for taking the time, I mean that. A few of the points I didn't know and will now become my new standard, like percentage of lesson/play time and teacher attributes. You have a new subscriber. I have just signed up for a 10-week class but will keep an eye on your channel. Thank you for the hit of inspiration.

Thanks for sharing. If you have a second, I posted a cover of U2. As a fellow music fan, I'd love if you'd check it out. It's on my page. Hope you like it!
