Let's Make a Deal - Big Deal $10,648

No, the new episodes are better! Truth!

You can tell watching the old Let's Make a Deal episodes that they wanted people to WIN. Zonks were uncommon, there were multiple cars offered every episode in completely achievable games, and they gave away two out of the three doors in the Big Deal. Now there are three or four zonks an episode, shitty deals all around, and only one trader gets to go to the Big Deal. They seriously need to give new-era Let's Make a Deal the budget for The Price is Right and let them go to town. Lower-end cars on games stacked in the player's favor, $40,000+ cars in regular games (not the Big Deal), two out of three cars in the Big Deal, one something like a Hyundia or Kia, the other a Lexus, and if the Super Deal is brought back, needs to be $100,000 (remember, they had a $20,000 Super Deal back when these aired, in the mid-70's, and inflation has brought the value of that money up five to six fold!)

I don't hate the new ones, they just don't have anywhere close to the charm. There are WAY too many zonks, and the prizes just seem generic without someone like Jay talking about them. Just like "a new TV" and coach tickets instead of first class etc, and not having multiple big deal contestants just isn't the same. It's like the other commenter said, the old ones wanted to give away the prizes, the new one seems cheap and finding any way to zonk you.

$10,500.00 for that Eldorado. THAT was expensive then. Imagine today...it would be closer to $100K or more... And the Monte Carlo back then was a classic.
