My Husband before he Passed Away, use to have A Sour Dough Starter! He would fix Sour Dough Pancakes, they Were Delicious! Good Receipe, thanks for Sharing Ms. Josie!❤️🙏🙏
I remember Amish going around in the late 80's too, and mine was given me in a plastic bag. I don't remember how long I had it but the bread was soooo good.😀
We had that back in the late 70s. Mom had gotten it started and then had to go out of town for a few weeks. I was a teenager and didn't cook. Well, when it was time to do something with it, I pulled out the recipe for the the coffee cake (it was called Herman) and made it. I guess it was beginner's luck because it was delicious. I still have that recipe.
I remember Herman! I was going through my late mother's recipe collection and she had saved the local newspaper food section featuring recipes using the Herman starter.
I remember receiving friendship starter bread when I was first married. It made the best bread ever! Thank you for sharing the recipe - I can't wait to make it again. :)
A neighbor gave me some starter and a loaf years ago. We passed it back n forth for a couple months until we got tired of it. It is delicious and moist. I usually make a quick bread and add sour cream and get results that are close.
I still make this today and put my 3 extra starters in the freezer so I can bake the bread anytime. I use all flavors of pudding, not just the vanilla.
Thanks so much for sharing this starter recipe. I used to make it when the children were growing up. If I didn't have anyone to share my starters with, I'd either bake extra loaves or freeze in individual quart size bags. Once you take it out, you treat it like day 1 and feed as your recipe states. PLEASE, share Amish Friendship bread recipe soon. 😋 🥰
Ok I missed this video apparently two weeks ago so I was confused on starter watching the second video today(two weeks later). Excited to do this! Thx Josie. God bless you and your beautiful growing family.
I love the unique flavor of sourdough bread and pancakes. I hope all is well with you and your family 🙏 ☺ I hope you have a great Easter weekend 🐰 ♥ ☺ dear Josie
I've made this bread exactly the way you do yours (it's super delicious, I added bananas and walnuts to mine) but I was gifted a starter bag and never started my own. My question is on day 10 after I make my bread can I separate the other 4 cups (the 4 i would normally share) and make bread out of that the same day by following the same instructions?
I read your instructions and I have a question. What i i do then with the starter I bake one cup of bread? start the process again and then bake? I'm confused at the result. Can I just bake and give loaves away?
