The anti slip surface is one of the most important features on IDF tanks. Today I am going to show you how to make super realistic anti slip surface on IDF Merkava 2d from Takom 2133 set in 1/35 scale. I show you also different options to use Modellers World sand and AK Interactive product. There are also Modelclub metal tracks and Quick Wheel 3d printed wheels. Enjoy!

Awesome to see how fast your channel is growing, Lukasz! Your hard work is paying off. Hang on… on second thought, your tedious work is paying off! It’s also great to see you really go to town on taking chunks out of the rubber road wheels. I was a tank driver for a few years, and they really get beaten up after a few weeks of use. Most modellers chip, scratch, fade and beat up everything else on their models, making them look years old, but the wheels look pristine. Dirty, but pristine. Anyway congratulations, and thank you!

Great choice. The anti-slip is essential for a realistic finish on modern IDF tanks.

Mengs merkavas are top class! The 4 with Trophy was amazing the antislip done on it out the box and them separate drive sprockets and idlers in the wee baggy look 3D printed! Not sure if they are but there absolutely stunning!

Hi Lukasz, you have given me some confidence to go back to my Merkava and re-try applying the texture, I found the AK glue dried too fast, and I thought the sand looked to corse, but then it could be my own fault, I look forward to the next episode, take care and keep safe my good friend, best regards to you and your family, greetings from Australia.

No, I didnt. Ive just made a lot of them and after that some experience helps me to create the models you can see here. I think it works the same like as with the other guys who make some kind of art. :)

I Wasn't a fan of the merkerva tank before, might just have to pick up a takom kit now 😉! Hopefully you daily life hasn't changed much with recent event's Lukasz! Canada is a long way away from Europe..take care

Hi, just found your channel and its great, i saw you had trouble lining up the track pins on the masterclub tracks, i use an old airbrush needle to line up the holes and then put the pin in, i hope this helps you the next time!

I wonder what could be a replacement tool for that AK bottle that 'blows' the sand particles. It's a very good tool, and smart too, since you get to control how much you put on the tank. Great content!

Well, it will be hard to find because it has small nozzle with a tube. But it will be easier to order this AK product :)

Brilliant work on the non-slip coating, can you tell me what glue you used to mix with the acrylic paint colour when applying your non stick coating?

I suppose you think about Pigment Cement from Modellers World. :) cClose to PVA but not the same.

Kurr zapial! Ale to bedzie pomocne przy budowie Merkavy. Uzywalem produktu VMS przy Merkava 2B i musze przyznac ze efekt sie kompletnie nie umywa do Twojego. Twoj jest o wiele bardziej realistyczny.
