It's weird how small a navy Denmark-Norway starts with considering it was the only one in Europe big enough to challenge Britain during the Napoleonic Wars.

Since sweden are always beating denmark, it's time to see denmark turning the tables lol

If you set group formation to line you can freely stretch their formation, makes it easier to deploy as you aren't constantly forming and disbanding groups

*-1700 - 1702-* Denmark was apart of a Triple coalition whose intentions were to weaken the Swedish Empire. Russia, Poland, Denmark. Before Denmark saw the south as a threat but as Sweden grew stronger at the time of the 30 years war, their views changed. Once war was declared Poland dropped out and only Russia and Denmark Joined in. Sweden attacked Danish trade and Copenhagen was being harassed by the nearby Swedish batteries and Ships on the swedish main no more than a few miles away. Britain played attention to the conflict in the North and joined in on the Swedish side, but it is unknown if England and Sweden are Allied. Denmark and Russia are at war with Sweden. Realizing this, Prussia offered an Alliance with the Danish and Denmark accepted. Poland kept asking to renew the Alliance and they keep getting denied until they decided to pay a sum of money. Sweden attacks Oslo but was defeated by the Norwegian garrison, but then Britain came and attacked. The battle was breif, the Scottish clansmen, mostly made of Macdonald, and Campbells who disliked eachother within the ranks charged and broke the garrison. But when General Carlsson came they were shot to dust along with the British army at the 3rd battle of Oslo. The British fleet continued to blockade Danish ports though. Carlsson knew there needs to be a speedy end to the war. He already knew out of intelligence that Charles XII was far too busy with Russia so the road to Stockholm is open. Carlsson ravaged the countryside living off the land. The Swedish winter did not stop him. Charles was forced to protect the capital. He forced Marched all the way to the North during winter suffering attrition. Many of his Caroleans, famed for their brutal tactics froze. 30,000 arrives at the 2 big lakes in the middle of Sweden the Vänern and the Vättern frozen. By that time the Danish captured Linköping. He received word that Charles is a few miles away and Oslo is at risk. Carlsson chose to switch capitals and defeated a swedish army outside the capital at Norrköping, Nyoköping and Tystberga. Before bombarding the capital and destroying many of the defending galleys and ships in the surrounding lakes and rivers. Many of them running into the nearby jagged rick islands and sinking.

Even court land and the united provinces has a bigger Navy but historically the Danes had the biggest Baltic fleet that's why Britain always sided with Sweden so they had a reason to attack and capture the danish fleet and ships in order to ensure they ruled the sea

Sweden and Denmark both get a bonus to cav unit sizes. Not exactly sure why though, no historical reason that I know of. Maybe just so they get something special.

@TheRiflemanUK that crossing between Denmark and Sweden bugs sometimes. I've been able to fix it before by just moving my troops in Copenhagen out of the town towards the crossing. It seems to be a problem if they're garrisoned and you try to move them, you probably could have moved them the entire time after you knocked that ship out of the port. The only way I know of from my playing Sweden to stop a crossing there is if you put a ship litterally on top of the yellow crossing line.

Currently holding 80% of North America and all 80% of the Caribbean, also using DarthMod. Just a question, I would like like to become the United States, I have tried starting a rebellion to no avail. Can you change government types in DM?

@TheRiflemanUK messing around in empire again. When playing darthmod custom, and running factions like Denmark, do you get any unique or special units? One of my biggest turn offs of empire is the lack of units and diversity with some factions.

Are you using the custom campaign on Darthmod? Not Early or Late? Because I have the all factions mod but I cany use Denmark on my early campaign, and if I use them on Late the fog of war is really annoying.

I bought this game a few days ago, I absolutely love it. I am norwegian irl, and it is a bit annoying that the only nordic power I can play as is Sweden. How can I play as denmark and other minor factions?

Its weird to see a British person playing as Denmark in Empire. I aren't really a fan of the British since they destroyed our Fleet for no apparent reason other then stopping it from falling into French hands, which would never have happend. We spend hundreds of years building our navy for the british to just snoop in and take it all, thats why i hate Britain.
