Thank you for watching! Sorry this video was very build heavy. I'll get better at it. If anyone has any suggestions on where I should go that would be helpful! If not, I will probably go get that Farmer's daughter's necklace that was stolen next video.

Ah settlement building - the thing people complain about in FO4 90% of the time, and yet spend 90% of their time doing 😆
@edmartin875
@edmartin875 8 месяцев назад
Not me. I build only the basic needs for 20 settlers with 100 defense. After that they are mostly on their own unless I am near, not especially busy, and willing to go help them. Sanctuary takes longer than most as they need a settlement NOW and I have few resources at that point in the game. But then, I have been known to ignore Concord all together until I have Sanctuary like I want it.

You'll have to find the VATS control.. since you aren't a first person shooter person. VATS allows you to slow down time and lock on to targets. Look in your controls for the VATS button.

I'd say to hold off on Diamond city for now. Downtown Boston can be rough if you're not well equipped. Do some missions around your settlements first. Get a few levels, build up some resources.

Yeah you can only have one companion at a time. Your actions will either improve their view of you or lessen it. If they really like you you get a free perk. Dogmeat doesn't provide a perk, but he has other abilities that other companions do not, and if you invest certain perks to make him more useful in combat and buff yourself when you travel with him. Just to note: you can equip certain clothing items on Dogmeat (like welding goggles and a bandana). Seeing as you don't use fast travel, know that you drain Fusion Cores faster when you run in power armor. You can break down weapons and armor you aren't using (or give them to your settlers) and safely drop all your junk in the Workshop. You can even get a perk that lets all your settlements share the pool of resources. Your settlers need at least one bit of ammo for the weapon they are using. Otherwise they will use their fists or anything else around that is handy. Settlement building takes a bit of getting used to - there are a lot of options (and yes you should be able to rotate the pieces.) Just note that you don't get back the same resources when you scrap - you always lose a little. I'd recommend playing around with it off-camera but after you get the hang of it I wouldn't mind seeing you build settlements or adding things. And yes - settlement building can get VERY involved if you want to dive deep into it. If not, you can just stick to setting up the basics of food, water, beds and defense. For powering lights - I think you need a wall connector or something like that which will power all small lights in an area. Edit: Regarding raider attacks: you might occasionally get a message that one of your settlements are being raided. Where you don't fast travel it may be impossible to get there in time to help with the defense. The raiders might bust some stuff up but I don't ever remember having setters die from an attack. Either you will have to repair the stuff or the settlers will if there is junk available. The higher your defense, the less often your settlement is attacked.

I have been playing FALLOUT 4 for many years and now do it in 'survival mode'....it's a matter of personal preference..you can play as first person shooter or a third person shooter.....as long as you figure out how to aim in each case.....also learn how to use VATS, it helps in aiming significantly, the numbers shown in VATS are percentage chance of hitting the target part.....in the early phase in sanctuary....follow sturges' instructions....don't discard excess weapons...they can be sold to vendors for caps....do a thorough search of the buildings in Sanctuary.....there's quite a bit of junk that you can scrap, as well as some weapons, etc.....Preston will give you quite a few missions to help other settlements...no need to do them immediately.....concentrate initially on setting up sanctuary as a home base, and meeting Sturges' needs.....

VATS is a targeting system that makes aiming unnecessary. Hit LB to activate VATS when near enemies. Then hit RB to select number of shots, then RT to shoot. You can change body part aimed at with LS (iirc) and change enemy aimed at with RS (or vice versa). You also can target multiple enemies with one VATS round by targeting first one, tap RB, nudge RS, target second one, tap RB, etc. Keep an eye on chance to hit percentage. Obviously you don’t want to waste ammo on a 0% chance to hit. You probably want to target body part with highest % (usually anything over 50% is fine, but higher is better obviously). The number of shots you can do in VATS is dependent on your AP (action points), which is dependent on your Agility points in SPECIAL. VATS is an excellent way to check for enemies nearby when you are wandering the wasteland. Stay in sneak and tap LB every so often. If anything is nearby VATS will target them. Also, VATS will help prevent you shooting friendly NPCs. Enemies show in red, friends in green. I really hope nobody comments any spoilers, it’s really cool seeing you play a totally blind playthrough 😊 Explore, search every location thoroughly, gather most all junk (deposit at Santuary workshop to clear inventory). Read all terminals, holotapes, etc. Take the Locksmith and Hacker perks.

*Honestly, who's never seen a 2 headed cow? *Settlers can't do anything without you in this game but shoot at the raiders that come to take their tatters, if you take all the ammunition from them... * Settlement sandboxing can be fun for hours, but for gameplay videos, it can be a bit dull. Again, it is good to do to learn some mechanics and, more importantly, what sort of things you want to prioritize picking up in the world. I'd definitely recommend getting well versed in Sanctuary and everything within its borders. * Personally, I'd do the quests given to you for now and explore what you come across along the way. The areas quests send you to are generally level appropriate and will help you cope with what lies beyond. You don't need to commit yourself to anything until you gain a bit more perspective on what is going on in the world. Just know you will need to solicit help at some point. * Vault-Tech Assisted Targeting System = VATS * The recording is quite choppy. Maybe reduce the broadcast quality? * You're doing a great job thus far, missing a bit on the observation end, but there's a lot going on for ya atm 👍

1) Yes, you explored the molerat cave but missed about half the loot. Likely because you don't yet know what everything looks like or what is important and what is not. 2) When an NPC uses your Power Armor they will not use any power from the fusion core. But they will also not want to get out of the Power Armor. 3) You really need to learn to cook the dead animals you keep killing. When cooked they make good food that heals your Health Points and frequently has other attributes. Don't go getting queasy. This is a game and your character is the one in a survival situation, not you personally. 4) Beds need a roof over them. All the houses still standing in Sanctuary has at least one bedroom or other rooms where you can put beds. At other settlements you have to put up a building to house the beds. 5) Excess food and water will automatically be stored each day in the workshop. The more food and water stored there the more it will draw attackers to the settlement. 6) Look at the bottom of your screen. You will see a letter under that line. The letters will be N, E, S, and W. This will tell you which direction you are facing. The main river is on the South side of Sanctuary. There is a small lake to the East and a stream to the North which wraps around on the West side to connects back to the Southside river. Both the River and stream come out of the lake and since they rejoin that makes Sanctuary an island. It's a small island so you should never get lost on it. Explore the island off camera if you want, to become familiar with it. 7) You can't clear any land for a garden so you just plant among the weeds. You can get tatos at TenPines Bluff and tatos and melons at Abernathy Farm. Just find them and pick what you want. You can get corn and carrots at the Slog. Grey Garden has mutfruit, and a little corn, tatoes, carrots, melons, and gourds. Finch Farm also has a mix of about 3 veggies. County crossing has mutfruit, Oberland station has Tatos. Warwick has a small mix with plenty mutfruit. 8) Each Mutfruit plant produces 1 daily ration. All others produce 1/2 daily ration per plant. I usually plant 6 of each veggie at each settlement giving them 6 rations of mutfruit and 3 rations of each of the other veggies, but if you want you can get all your food needs with one type of veggie. A settler has to be assigned to care for the crops. One settler will tend enough plants for 6 rations each day, so you will want to keep count when planting and assigning workers. One veggie I haven't mentioned is Razorgrain. It's pretty scarce but if you start growing it you can have it at every settlement after a while. Finch Farm has some but once you pick them the plants never grow any more. Marcy usually assigns herself to be the first one to work in the garden in Sanctuary. 9) There are wild crops to be found all over the commonwealth. They cannot be planted, but periodically respawn. They can be used in crafting or eaten (with a small rad gain) but their primary value is in Survival mode. Likewise flowers and blossums can be used in crafting. Run around in the water and you will pick up rads. 10) Preston will try to get you to be the leader of the Minutemen which means you will be doing all the work necessary to build them up. 11) The farther south you go the harder it will be, since you are such a low level and you will be fighting enemies of a higher level. 12) You haven't got aiming down pat yet. When you cover up the target with the barrel of your gun you will be shooting over their head. When manually aiming in this game the post in the middle of your gunsights is the important part. Your aimpoint should be just over that post, not hidden by the post or too far under the target. It's hard to see because of the recoil but the bullethole should be touching the top of the post in the center of your gunsights. If you don't get better you will be running out of 10mm bullets and have to change to a pipe weapon which is not as good. 13) Also you have been running around with 1 bullet in your gun which means after one shot you will have to reload. It is better to have a fully loaded gun before getting into a fight.

They aren't cheats, they will make your game run smoother and keep it from freezing or crashing to desktop as often. The resources you get from junk helps with gun mods when using the Weapon smith and getting building materials, they're also used to repair Power Armor parts. Be mindful of your weight limit, though lol. This is the struggle of many players, what and how much to carry, it can make a person nuttier than squirrel turds lol. As for where you should go... I would recommend doing at least 3-4 side quests before heading into Diamond City. It's a good place to get more items so I wouldn't wait too long before getting there. Taking things at a brisk pace is always good cause you want to get used to the feeling of the game. However, when you get to Diamond city I would definitely recommend doing as many side quests as possible. Just be mindful of the difficulty. Also. don't forget about your V.A.T.S, it's a nifty targeting system that helps display how accurate your shots will be depending on the body part you shoot. Since your using Xbox it should activate by pressing the LB button. Also, and I'm pretty sure you know this by now, but lowering your weapon you need to press and hold the X button. Hope you continue to have a lot of fun with Fallout 4. Take care, Krista.

Settlements come under your control after accessing the workbench. There are plenty out there and once under your control they provide safe storage IF you make a container for yourself. Settlers will access the local workbench for the things they need and deposit things they don't (ie excess food and water). The amount of goodies in the workbench bad guys want is factored in to how likely they are to come and take it by force. You get 1/2 the build cost refunded when you scrap something.

You want to make a cabinet to drop off all your extra stuff. I know you don't like the power armor but it increases defense, you can carry more, and you cannot take fall damage. To repair the armor pieces you must go to the yellow workbench near where you made all of the beds. Move the armor close enough to it so you can work on it. At least so you know where it's at and you can put away the equipment you can't repair yet. If you continue on to diamond City you're bound to find a lot of other quests along the way. Along with a lot of battling. You can equip melee weapons in this game as well. I can't tell if the frame rate issue is just my video or if it's actually your gameplay but you might be better off trying to get used to the melee mechanic. V.a.t.s is a system that automatically targets things. It uses stamina or 'ap' to use it.

Hello again Krista, I see you are taking the post nuclear Farm Ville life. 😂 Tips: use the Matrix bullet time System or the Voltec Assisted Targeting System or V.A.T.S for short. It’s one of the coolest game mechanics that Bathesda created. Where you can slow down time and shoot different body parts as well as targets for the desired affect, like crippling, lower the enemy accuracy, maximum damage and critical hits for extra damage, once u have fill in the Crit-meter. Play around with it and you’ll see your enemies drop-dead the next second, in no time, literally!!. 😂😂 And it affected by agility for more points, perception for more accuracy, and luck 🍀 to fill your critical meter.. The 44 pistol You’ll find it east of the sanctuary, north east of the red rocket, just follow to where the red rocket is pointing, you’ll find a yellow square box and a dead body the 44 pistol is there. A powerful combat shotgun + Harden Sniper rifle Go to Skylanes Flight 1981 The location is in a straight line east of the red rocket, is really low level area so should fine, and if are lucky/( u have high luck) you can find some great weapon mods there as well. Is a little far, it’s about 5 times as far as from sanctuary to the red rocket. Laser Pistol Is just a bit west of the Skylanes Flight 1981 On overpass, on the road there, you’ll find some friendly raiders that may have said Hi hot lead, if they are not dead, you have to say Hi back at them with your hot lead. If you are level 5 or more you should be fine. The Fat Man Go to the Robotics disposal ground And is north is of the Red Rocket Continue going north east past where you find the 44 Pistol and at end of the map you’ll find the Infamous Fat Man weapon on top of a rusted car, and you find 1 ammunition by right side of the entrance in between the metal fence and some tires, this weapon is great to save the game and play with it, to see the beauty in action it can do. Have fun!!, and enjoy playing the game. Post apocalyptic Two headed Cowgurl!! 🎉🎉

I suggest that you gather lots of materials & resources to build up your settlement with some defenses to help protect the occupants. Try to work on getting your defense number for the settlement to 100 or better. Also add some entertainment to the settlement like weight lifting bench or poly horse for gymnastics. I had kept 5 extra beds over the settlement population at all of my settlements when I played. Use your settlement map to circle your settlements with turrets of all sorts as you gain the knowledge.
@rofyle
@rofyle 11 месяцев назад
1. You can't rely on power armor early on in the game, because they require fusion cores that have extremely limited battery time. Eventually you will find more fusion cores, but that comes much later. 2. You MUST fast travel a lot in this game. You simply do not have any other option. This isn't Skyrim. You cannot put off defending your settlements when they come under attack. Your response is timed. Fail to arrive at a settlement in time to defend it, and you will lose that settlement. I'm just trying to save you the heartbreak of spending six hours building up a settlement only to then later lose it in five minutes because you thought you could put it off to finish a quest or walk back. Ain't no horses or running cars in this game, and the clock is ticking. 3. One of the most important perks to get early on in order to make your life 1000% easier is the perk LOCAL LEADER found under the Charisma column. Level 1 of this perk allows you to establish supply lines between your settlements and to assign one settler from each settlement to act as courier. After you unlock this perk and assign a settler, all the junk you dump into the workstation of your starting settlement will become immediately available in the workstations of all other connected settlements. Fail to activate this perk and you will spend fifty hours doing nothing but searching for specific pieces of junk and then carrying every piece to each settlement one at a time. 4. Intelligence is the #1 most important perk, because the greater your intelligence is, the higher the value of points you earn. Wasn't it good of Bethesda to let you dump all those points they gave you at the start of the game into useless perks like Luck and Strength and Charisma, while ignoring the fact that Intelligence is the only one that matters? This game is so unbalanced it's ridiculous. 5. The music is good. Seriously, when you're not having to deal with all the settlements and factions crap, when you're just out exploring and not having to dig around for junk, the game can be pretty fun. It has its moments. It's just too bad it's so bogged down with stupid, lazy writing and unbalanced mechanics.
@tigger62
@tigger62 11 месяцев назад
#2 is wrong. If you don’t return to help defend a settlement, it will sustain damage but you won’t lose it. #4 Game balance regarding stats is subjective. Depends on your play style and what you enjoy, not necessarily maxing out experience with high intelligence.

To Improve movement and aiming, practice while you're walking around. I'd suggest just using 1st person view.

I thought it was my PC for some reason but I checked the skyrim playthrough and some others and this is not happening, are all the episodes as laggy as the first two?

Fast travel works Only when you've discovered a new location Thus you can, example go from the rocket fuel service station to Sanctuary in 1 click and vice versa best for bases and towns The clue to activating the link is when the game gives a bells sound and your awarded points Another issue you seem to be having is rotating objects such as beds furniture OK on the PlayStation it's a dab on the controller keys L1 & L2 I think and the placement becomes 2nd nature Imagine placing a machine gun the wrong way? Yes I have done this often but as soon as a second or 2 later I have rotated it to face the enemy There is a bug with moving your pals and that is getting them manually through doors to scout ahead or around the corner and on the lower level they take a lot of flack and they end up sitting down! I also have a similar issue with my selected companions in battle in Far Cry New Dawn and the going is slow. Have to quick save often. Once you've worked out the right companion puzzle for the battle/situation you can move on quite quickly like selecting the right club for golf

Stop taking your settlers ammo and money

Why ? If they want to live in a settlement I built, it's gonna cost them. And I'm a good guy compared to most players. However, I don't take anything from them until I am outfitting them with good weapons and armor.

@@edmartin875 if your a good person then you wouldn't take their caps. They maybe come to your settlement, but when you go to your workbench you have crops , components and caps that they made for you in there

Remember he was in Cryo until he was kidnapped. When you finally meet him, he is elderly. But not 200 years elderly.

Krista, don't waste stimpaks on your companions, girl. This isn't Skyrim. None of your companions can die. Not even the dog. Why even make the dog whine and act hurt if it can't die, you ask? Because duh, that's Bethesda. So, did you notice that it's now your job to rebuild everyone's settlement? The woman who just woke up from a 200 year sleep, whose baby has been kidnapped, whose husband has been killed, who knows nothing about this hostile, alien world she finds herself in, yet it's now her job to go rebuild all the homes and defenses for these lazybone, good for nuthin settlers? Just like it's now your job to go find this doofus's locket while he sits back with his two headed cow and whines about raiders. God, I hate this game. Creetosis has over six hours of video explaining everything that is wrong with this game, and he's only on part 2 of 6. 😂

Everything about the weapons and how they work is wrong! It’s sad ! And it doesn’t help that the game has game braking glitches.

It's not her job to do any of that. All of that is entirely optional. She can go find her baby and then choose to engage with those systems after. Or ignore them outright. The main quest only slightly touches on the settlement building system to facilitate getting to her destination and it can be ignored outright with zero consequence. Or engaged with only after the SS has completed her main goal of finding her son. Stop mixing up optional theme park mechanics with Story and narrative. The settlement building system is not mandatory unless you want to go a very specific route for the ending and even then you'll only be diving into it long after you've found your son and got revenge for your husband, which makes sense. And this getting back item A or Killing enemies for random NPC B is present in every RPG quest ever made. Only morons conflate optional mechanics with story/narrative and use it to criticize the game.

Folders and Burnt mags weigh nothing and can be sold for 1 cap each. Burnt books weight 1.0 and are worth zero caps.
