I laughed, oh, so much when the Wickless Baron said "Well, this has been fun." after that huge enhancements. Timed so perfectly one would think it was scripted.
24:20 "This should just say Reform, right?" No. Reform is a very specific keyword which literally only brings the unit back with +5 Attack, +5 Health, 0 Cost, and 1 Burnout.
'As this is the official release, content seen here may quite possibly be indicative of the final design, gameplay or polish of the game' Uh Rhaps, you dropped this! :p
Jesus christ man you are such a breath of fresh air compared to the EGGMAN himself (NorthernLion) Also the "Well this was fun" killed me while you were getting 75x buffs
1:10:32 "Well this has been fun!" Mr. Moneybags knows what's up 😂 A great run these 2 clans works extremely well together although Umbra's Morsels seem like they'd be good with any clan.
I appreciate your commitment to explaining mechanics to the viewers. I have watched the dev stream (and also played Magic the Gathering) so I knew what trample was and all the other mechanics as well, but definitively not everyone has, and this sort of explanation is why your channel is so accessible to people who haven't played these games.
In the penultimate battle, I dont think you gave enough credit to how much the "enemy units gain dazed 1 upon entering the top floor' artifact helped you. it kept the sweeping enemy units from defeating your morsels, or from giving you even more ember drain, and I think that was really useful in that battle, and helped keep you alive
Full release hype! Discovered you with your first Monster Train video and am now binging your STS content. Choo choo goes the hype train for the Monster Train series!
All aboard the hype {Monster} Train! Choo-choo! Game seems amazing with a lot of repeatability and crazy combos. Can't wait until the 21st. Thank you Rhaps! Keep it up mate!
Just fyi Rhaps Reform isn't random by base. I'm not sure if you knew that already it's just the way you responded to some cards made me think you weren't understanding the actual value of those cards. If it doesn't say Reform Random units. It isn't random.
@@RhapsodyPlays also formless child says return and not reform because reform enhances the returned unit with +5/+5, 0-cost and burnout 1 while formless child does not and only enhances the unit with 50 attack.
Dude, I saw the title and rushed to my computer thinking this was available now. Kind of salty, but healed by the fact I get to watch you play this again.
Hey Rhaps, when you talked about getting a whole lot of emberdrain from the emberwings, doesn't emberdrain only work if the unit it is placed on is alive? In which case, the morsels that got hit wouldn't contribute to the emberdrain stacks.
I'm very tempted to continue watching your Monster Train series but I want to experience the full release myself. Thanks for the beta series tho, Rhaps!
24:20 No it shouldn't say reform because reform gives +5 damage and burnout 1 to the returned unit, the Formless child is only supposed to "revive" it and give +50 damage. 1:16:20 Also this card effectively makes you seraph the Chaste now.
Morsels coming back with extra stats is pretty good, it's basically drawing an extra card(s) every turn depending on how deep you go. It means you can leverage capacity upgrade for more room to feed morsels to big umbra guys instead of getting the draw upgrade. With 2 or 3 bonus free morsels every turn you can feed your engines of destruction very well.
I'm only 5 minutes in, so this might very well get covered allready in this here video --- BUT: The Rector Flicker with *Reform* on resolve would/should work great with a low morsel/imp deck that either only generates very strong morsels very rarely (basicly like you're doing right now, creating a +5/+5 morsel with a 2 mana spell) or a single imp (let's say a rage imp, or a ember imp) that you then can replay every single turn into infinity. P.S.: Or you set up a "kill" floor with the champ and a play floor where your power goes. that way you only feed your champ low numbers of very powerfull morsels/imps and have him bring them back over and over and the weaker once go into the play floor.
By the way rhapsody if you are wondering about lifesteal I noticed during the run that it does not decrease per turn but it will decrease per hit it seems.
I even think if the unit is full health it will not spend the charge of lifesteal either. But it's something I kinda saw in a stream, haven't surely tested it yet!
Love your content rhaps keep it up, I even got undermine because of you and I love the game can't wait for it to be finished ^^ this game is cool as heck
24:16 What you're missing with formless child is actually a fairly important distinction: "reform" will return a unit, and give it a stack of burnout. This makes reform good with units that already have burnout because it extends their timer before death. But it also makes reform very bad with cross-clan interactions, because if you reform a strong unit, it becomes a strong unit that only lives for one turn. Formless child is the opposite, because it does not give burnout. You don't want to trigger it on a burnout 1 draff or a burnout 2 dreg because you're not increasing their longevity, but you *do* want to use it on an animus of will to suddenly have a 53x3 attacker.
OMG! That part where Rhaps completely forgets how X cost cards work!!! @52:00 ish How....how....how is that even possible? You know full well how X cost cards work. I got so confused as to how he got so confused.
You might not wanna do this at the start, but it will definitely become helpful later: You can hold right mouse button, to increase animation speed even more.
Your champion and the money dude both had extinguish effects, so that would have doubled their efficacy, but overall you're right that wouldn't have had much influence on the run
I think you need to focus on getting a third floor up more often especially after the other 2 are running, its just wasted real estate. You're skipping turns when you could use the worst unit in the game, with enough morsels (that you aren't playing) you could make it protect that floor a lot better than just letting your turns go by with an empty floor. Also emberdrain doesn't apply if your unit is dead so you can use your entombed explosives, they will die, do their damage and lose their emberdrain.
By the way, you can refresh options in shops now, with the newer build you have. So you could have refreshed multiple times with all the money you had to find multi strike
I think the card you were thinking of is genetic algorithm for defect and I was thinking of searing blows and that other one that increase by 8 when you attack with it.
23:33 if you put Entombed Explosive on top floor your pyre wouldn't have took damage cause it does 35 damage to the front unit. The unit had 40hp, it would've died.
You have to tell me here if that was just the stars aligning... Or if morsels, eaten, gorge, etc. need to be nerfed, because there is no way that is balanced.
I may be wrong but in the beta, wasn't the blue crystal capacity and the yellow card draw? I mean it makes sense to switch them since the capacity symbols are yellow but still
Great video! So excited to see the full release run of this game. Been following since Beta and I look forward to playing it myself! Take THAT, Algorithm! A Life, a comment and a subscribe!
I've began to realize you don't need to care about initial unit space in morsal harvest deck. If your morsels spawn passively every turn, your either going to be at max capacity or unit capped (which I don't think should be a thing, but understand it as a balancing aspect).
