Tom is the secret anchor of the group. Everyone else is wonderful in Board Game Club, don't get me wrong, but he's the quiet, stoic leader of the group. (please don't ever leave Tom!)
Maybe we should break out the "how many fucks does Daniel Bryan give" machine and rename it in honour of Tom. My guess is it reads Tom gives zero fucks right now.
Contrary to what Sullivan (the artist formerly known as "Adam") said, this might be one of my favourite episodes of BGC. The bits were on point and I couldn't stop laughing!
@@mattsugrim7132 Each night the townsfolk secretly vote for 1 person. The person with the most votes is The Sullivan. You're drunk this round and may get the wrong information.
@@mattsugrim7132 The Sullivan is not a role but an affliction like drunk or poisoned. The Sullivan must reveal their role whenever they are asked or they will be killed straight away.
@@tarnim80 ok that makes more sense. I've watched the BOTC series, but I feel like if I do get the game I'd understand the roles and afflictions a bit more.
Tom is so hilarious. Between this and seeing his work as a storyteller I think he has the best comedic timing and delivery. "When the bits stop, the winning starts."
@@mentalbreakproductions6993 Yes I do too. However I believe they are about to move onto the 3rd level of the game, which is by far the most complex for players apparently... So it would depend on how familiar Maanuv is with Blood on the Clocktower, specifically that 3rd version of the rules. Fingers crossed though!
it is kinda funny to think that WT tried to convince its audience for almost an entire year that Mr. Davis is their top heel character, while Adam 'The Sullivan' Blampied using the real heel cheating tactics over on NRB. First Dobbins or Bobbins, now this... what a dastardly person he is, boo this man!
Did you not see his heel turn on name redacted when he superkicked that poor eternal child-man: Jack The Jobber (not man-child, nah child-man, it's reverse)
Funny does not need to be cohesive. You all just playing games is the delight. Could not stop laughing. The funny bit is trying to stick to a bit you can’t. But when someone finally remembers it’s funny. Well done. Worst part of the episode is no Lauri.
True. Funny can be an awesome gang getting together and honestly having fun with and enjoying each others company. That is the vibe I get from this crew.
I agree with that. BGC has over 30 episodes now and every episode is just everyone having a good time. Also, the vibe that these episodes have is just minimal competition, just a group of friends having a fun time and making great content doing so.
Gotta love how Maanuv specifically asked if there are bonus points at the end of the round, only to be f*cked over by bonus points at then end of the round.
You know, I learned something today... The Sullivan broke Laurie's most important BGC streak because he probably wanted to be the only person in every episode. BBBBB shoots on meatloaf (which he has somehow never tried) after workshopping a bit about Meatloaf. We also found out that Maanuv grew up as a French orphan with BBBBB and fish in your lungs was somehow not uncommon. Congratulations to Tom and welcome to BGC Maanuv!
Brooke could have convinced Tom to give her the 25 by using the leverage from the picture from telestrations. Also, welcome maanuv to this brilliant carousel of lunacy that is BGC. May it continue forever
Also... To prove to The Sullivan how good this episode of BGC was I'm removing my thumbs up from all other videos except this one! It was hilarious stuff, Sullivan.
23:31 -I know and love this game. I watched the rules and the play and the whole ridiculous 5 thing and kept thinking to myself, “Uh guys. Guys? There’s in an important bit I think you forgo....there it is.”
i want friends like this, my friend group are all toms and not everyone can be tom in one group.we all just sit their in admittedly comfortable silence but silence none the less makes dnd a ball ache
I thought Jon had a really smart point during the game too - "I thought this would be a bit dry". He is right, the idea of trying to avoid collecting cards unless they formed part of a run doesn't sound intrinsically amusing, but it does create a great environment for wheedling, cajoling and just plain schadenfreude! It might be interesting to see a video on their first anniversary of people giving thoughts about games they've been introduced too in Board Game Club, or maybe as a video about what different people want to get out of games and how different games satisfy that
@@ishoottheyscore8970 for real, I never got why people would play this and had no intention to myself, but after seeing this video, I totally get it, and might even give it a spin myself.
@@richardshort2001 It's pretty cheap (£12 RRP in the UK) if you have to buy it, but trying it on BGA with friends on a Skype/Whatsapp/whatever would work too. I do recommend it - it's one of those games you can take to a restaurant to kill time while waiting for food. Just wish I could figure out where my copy is, I have a horrible feeling I lent it to someone...
Not ironically saying this; Great episode. If anything the one detractor was the self-awareness about the bits. I didn't mind the bits at all (genuinely), I didn't mind the rules slip up (I felt bad for Adam.), but at least a good fifth of the episode was trying to be self-aware about how the bits would land instead of just having a good time and rapport. It didn't take away from it in a serious way, but I would have happily watched B5 dance for all that time instead. Also, you're all awesome thank you for the great content.
Finally caught up with this whole series. Absolutely brilliant, I don't know what I'm going to do now. Wait for the weekly uploads I guess. Tom Burgess is pure gold. 'When the bits stop, the winning starts' had me rolling.
I really like No Thanks. It might not be as inherently bit-generating as the social deduction games (unless you are the NRB crew, of course :D ), but it's one of those games that's easy enough to teach and quick enough to play that you can get just about anyone in on it. Perfect for evenings with relatives who normally don't play board games! Welcome to Board Game Club, Maanuv!
What I like is that it is a 'background' game. It has enough meat to it to be fun to play, but it also leaves people space to talk any old nonsense over the top. I think if they did a video playing 6 nimmt or Lucky Numbers or Can't Stop you'd get a similarly 'devolved' conversation
Oui s'il te plaît ....More shenanigans please! I thought it would be dull without Blair or Laurie turns out TOM makes all the difference 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣. Thanks for the content 👍
I'm so glad that I came back to watch this! Normally this gets me through the end of my workday on Fridays but I was on vacation when this was released. Such good comedy in this one.
No, I won't be Sully. We can't be changing names. It will confuse the fanbase. - Man who was officially known as "Plumpy" for the better part of a year.
It's a minor thing, but I prefer the publisher before amigo where the cards where a solid body of colour that gradually changed, so it's part way between Adam's physical copy, and the version shown on BoardGameArena. Have to say, I now want to play games with Brooke and Sully - I love couples who are happy to go for each other's throats in a game rather than try and help each other! Please keep those two in games together Also, amused that you forgot the fact that chips are a bonus at the end of the game - it was so funny watching the 5 starting to grow in to such a bonus for the players!
I liked this before the talk about liking it began and I hardly ever like RU-vid videos anymore. I don't know what it says about me that you all think it would bomb but it's probably my favourite episode ever and has me crying out for ab NRB Podcast......?
