So glad to hear. Remember to play around with the velocity curve settings as it makes a huge different in the response and tone of the library. Thanks again for the kind support. All the best.
Julien, sorry to hear you are having trouble. The piano sound you hear is coming directly from my interface into the stream, also no additional EQ or processing is being applied. The issue is most likely due to your keyboard controller and it’s velocity scaling. Your controller might have a few velocity profiles you can check and see the differences each one makes. You can also adjust the velocity dynamic range and curve in the Austrian Grand settings, so I would experiment with those settings to see what happens. I would start at the extremes so you can hear the effect it has, then go back and dial in what feels the best. I hope that gives you at least a starting point. Thanks for watching. Joyfully🎹
Clever way to multi-thread a non multi-thread VST! Can be done in other DAWs with the right MIDI plugins of course. I've watched your reviews of Hammers & Waves and you know what - I prefer the Austrian Grand. To each their own huh?
Gary, yeah, I am still surprised that the UVI Workstation has still not been updated to work with multi-core processors as of yet. Regarding your Hammers and Waves comparison, well to be honest pianos don't get much nicer than the Bösendorfer 280vc ;^). The VSL Synchron 280vc is one of my favorite piano libraries as well, due to the detail and mic perspective options. I am very glad to see that UVI unbundled the Austrian Grand, as you mentioned it is a fabulous sounding piano library. Thanks so much for watching and the kind support. All the best.
@@PraiseTracks Pianoteq has been my goto for many years and will continue, but alas they don't have an Imperial. H&W was just a bit too icy in the upper mids for my tastes and I don't need more effects or any more EPs - but it IS fantastic, none the less. Question: do you know if you get a lower CPU hit with UVI's Austrian if you lower the polyphony and.. anything else...?
Hi Simeon, first of all many thanks for your fantastic videos. How would compare the UVI key suit pianos and the Pianoteq 8 pianos in playability, response, etc? I like so much the sound and details of the UVI pianos but had no chance yet to play and feel them. What would you purchase if you had a single choice?
Pianoteq 8 depending on the package you get can be a very powerful instrument as it gives you so many ways to adjust the properties of the individual physical models. When you are taking about individual sampled pianos, each one is like a very highly detailed snapshot of an instrument captured in a particular recording space. The limits of physical modeling extend into capturing sone of the nonlinear ways that a physical space is perceived, whereas the sampled instrument captures the room that is now part of the instrument itself. I will see if I can get a few more thoughts together, so stay tuned. Thanks for the kind support and talk with you again soon. Joyfully!
@@PraiseTracks Thank you for your detailed reply! Yeah I have been testing Pianoteq 8 for a while and it's so cool (of course the limitations a bit confusing :) but nice that has the option to try) Now UVI provides 50% discount for Key Suite Bundle so I was thinking on purchasing of that package, however - hearing as you are playing on Austrian Grand is awesome and the piano sound quality is outstanding - I don't know how the key feel is compared to Pianoteq (responseness, touch - note relationship, latency, etc) BTW: I own an SL88 Grand too, so it's a bonus that you're using this keyboard too :)
My birthday is the 31, and the year is 1927, 94 year old, happy to you Simeon, from Canada. We owned a Bosendorfer before the war when the Soviet solgers took it out to the yard and fed horses from it. Could yopu do a favor and tell me what are you using as a foot volume control?
Wow, that is incredible, I could not imagine walking through something like that. I am so glad that you are still keeping on and wish you the best of blessings for your birthday and the year that lies ahead. Since I am using the SL88 Grans I am able to connect their SLPD3 which has all of the piano pedals that occupy the universal pedal input which is great. For my expression/volume pedal, I am currently using the Yamaha FC7, but would love to try one of the Studiologic pedals as for some reason the FC7 does not seem to go all the way down to 0, and it also has the spring loaded adjustment where you can set it to a certain level and then push beyond it to full volume (like kicking in an afterburner). Again prayers of blessing for your birthday and so glad to have you a part of the channel. All the best.
Happy Birthday Simeon!! Wishing you a joyous and Blessed day and year ahead!! Beautiful review today, sorry I missed it live. God Bless you and God Bless America!! ♥
HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY SIR. Hope your day is the best ever. Always appreciate your videos and reviews of things - especially the pianos because you play so very well, and finding these great piano libraries is special. Have a great day. I DO have a question for you that I'll try to find your contact info and message you about. THANKS as always for great content.
So glad you enjoyed watching. So when I found out that the library was based on the 280vc, things made a lot more sense. Thanks so much for watching. All the best.
Every demo is a killer music lesson. That's kind of bad for library creators, you make EVERYTHING sound good... it ain't the brush, it's the painter! ;)
Happy Birthday to... us! I was, also, born on May 29th. As a bonus, I'm a '57 model (1957). I really enjoy your reviews and your beautiful playing. Keep up the good work. You are salt and light on RU-vid. Blessings!
I already have enough pianos, but I really enjoy listening to the audio track of your playing. Great job Simeon, also happy birthday, even though it's already a few days through.
Elad, it is my pleasure, it is like trying to tell a bird 🦅 not to fly or 🎤 . I am so grateful to be able to share my blessings with all of you. I so appreciate your continuously kind support. All the best.
It is always my pleasure. Thanks so much for your continued kind support and best wishes. I am praying the coming year will be an amazing one for all of us. All the best.
That is a great question and one that I am constantly trying to answer. A lot of it depends on what you are looking for as far as tone, dynamics, etc. Stay tuned as I am working on trying to put something together 📺 Thanks so much for watching and the kind support.
Hi Simeon, thank you very much for this great video and send you many many wishes for your birthday! I particularly appreciate to hear your notes of music today, 5/29, because in my case it’s not a good day… lost my mother just on 5/29 ten years ago, and my rememberings are so sad about that, as you can imagine. I’m a keyb./pianist too, even not at a professional level. I’m grateful for your playing and for the emotion that you make me feel; even if you are only demoing your way of speaking and your delicate playing hit my heart, so I wish to thank you for this, your intimate harmonies and so elegant style made me live this day in a better way. A big hug from Italy, and all the best for your life and music!
Roberto, I am sorry to hear of your mom's passing, it is indeed something very difficult to deal with as I too lost my mother to ALS in 2005. I would find myself wanting to call her to pray for me regarding something and realized that was not possible as in the past. I then heard that still small voice that reminded me; "she taught you how to pray, and now you have to just do it". I am so grateful that the video was comforting for you, it is one of the greatest gifts to know that what you are doing is helping to encourage others and bringing them some sort of strength and comfort to deal with the challenges life throws at us daily. Thanks again for your vey kind words of support. Wishing you all the best.
