Today we learned that Keith is not great at reading family trees, but most importantly we learned to never take any information for granted and instead to always reread everything twice or even more times.

Interesting, you can tell how this was inspired by Obra Dinn, but it's more self-contained and linear than Obra Dinn is (each scenario has one well-defined mystery and also has all clues you need to solve it). I'm not sure if it's "better" than Obra Dinn, but it's definitely more streamlined. Also: 32:51 Apparently "badhir" (बधिर) means "deaf" in Hindi. 33:08 Simhasana Dvatrimsika (or Singhasan Battisi) is a collection of Indian folk tales, and that title means "thirty-two tales of the throne".

This is a game where, after finishing, I went looking to see if people I watch have also played it. This is the third time I've seen someone read "My late sister" and thought that's a form of address. "Dear dead woman..." Though the last time was a group of three people working together who All made that mistake, so that's 5 people total.

For those wondering how the story thorough the parts connect: In the prologue, the esquire named "Albert Cloudsley" and the doctor "Oberon Geller", found the golden idol and the doctor was killed for it in 1742. Now years later, in the part 1, we see that it's been passed on to the now dead "Sebastian Cloudsley" who died via falling from a horse in 1786. From the family tree in part 2, we see that Sebastian is the son of Albert. But note that Sebastian was researching spontaneous combustion via a book and also writing a letter on the desk, where he was ready to share his research on spontaneous combustion using the golden idol. That is expanded into what the document "Willard Wright" has in the 2nd scenario about how to use the spontaneous combustion who uses it kill "James Pear", one of the servants using the glyphs. Also "Edmund Cloudsley", is somehow eerily interested in the whole scenario. Hope this helps everyone, as there as many subtle things we can see as we keep going in the scenarios.

P. Battley kinda deserved it tbh. It got to me the first time I came across this character he's the type to always expect a quick and giant gain in everything without ever putting his effort to anything. A giant debt and numerous bets speak for themselves hahah

This game really reminds me of Do Not Feed The Monkeys with how we pluck keywords out of the environment, but, weirdly, I haven't seen anyone else mention DNFTM. Everyone just compares this game to Obra Dinn.

Thank you for the video! :) I learned that using pointillism for shading and texture is called stippling, but that's in comic books so maybe digital is different.

yea - its a specific term for using less (non-mixing) colours in a pattern to simulate more - knitting term 'dither scarf' comes up when searching for it too!

Dithering is specific to pixels. It's called that because the better-looking schemes for it sort of wander around instead of emphasizing the grid. Stippling is pen and ink, and pointillism is painting. The "comic" shading Marrow says he's experimenting with, the regularly-spaced round dots designed for printing, is halftone. Halftone used to be achieved by screening photos, which was done optically through an actual mesh screen, but then there were also sheets of halftone available for cutting up or rub-on transfer. Now, of course, it's just another computer effect, because today's printers are capable of near-microscopic dithering for smooth color.

7:20 Were they vignettes or tableaux? Bit confused on the accuracy of that definition. Both are ways to portray an instance, but a tableau is always a 3D freezeframe during action, while a vignette is almost a meme (in this sense).

The two words you missed in the second area was just the title Spontaneous Combustion. I think the reason you didn’t find it was because you thought the underline was just there to show it was a title Edit: Oops didn’t watch all the way through

A monkey's paw is a metaphor based on a short story about the item granting a wish in a way that negates its benefit. Like you wish for lots of money, then your entire family dies in an accident and you inherit/get a big settlement.
