When you said She's the Man is so quoteable, my brain automatically thought of "WHEN MY EYES ARE CLOSED I CAN SEE YOU FOR WHAT YOU REALLY ARE WHICH IS UGHLY!"
The editing on this video is SO GOOD. Its also not on this list but a definte God Tier of mine is Ice Princess, Casey living out my unrealistic fantasy of being a natural at ice-skating was everything to 10-year-old me! Also iconic secondary characters✨
So fun fact about Wild Child: It was written by Lucy Dahl who is Roald Dahl’s daughter. The film was based on her experience of going to boarding school where she was expelled after starting an accidental fire at 15. That school is Abbot’s Hill School which is where I go to and there’s a rumour that Wild Child was supposed to be filmed there but the school declined. (Also you can definitely see the resemblance between Abbot’s Hill and Abbey Mount)
An amazing thing about Aquamarine is how the actors are actually close to the age they are portraying, and emma and jojo are not sexualised. I remember it as being the first movie were I actually felt like I related to the girls I saw on tv
Just wanted to say THANK YOU, you saved my weekend movie marathon because NOW I HAVE A WHOLE LIST OF THE 2000s MASTERPIECES. That's it. And: Thank you one more time.
For the most part, I completely agree with your rankings. I feel like this was a time to be alive! These kinds of movies were EVERYWHERE and it was so exciting to look forward to a new one coming out all the time. I wish they were just as popular today for kids. I mean, there is Lara Jean, but we need moooore, you know? Anyway, thanks for the video, so much fun to watch ☺️
aw i'm so glad you liked it!! these are my favourite videos to make :) i completely agree, i also think a lot of movies take themselves too seriously these days, i just want some cute outfits and female friendship they don't have to be perfect people!
completely agree. i appreciate the artistry and drama of things like euphoria etc. but damn i feel like the tweens and teens today don’t get to have this sort of film made for them nearly as much as they should. booksmart was like a life revelation. we want more !!!!!!
Okay so putting “A Cinderella story: once a upon a song”, straight down to the last category is disgraceful. The songs, the costumes ahh they are immaculate. One of my favourite childhood movies✨😭
If you ever do a Part 2, I would love to see where you would put “The Clique” and “Legally Blondes” 😂 also, do any of the “Step Up” movies count as teen movies?
@@JENuaryGirl04 I love Legally Blonde too! But the movie I was referring to was the sequel/spinoff which was called Legally Blonde. It starred those twin British blonde girls from The Suite Life. It was aigh, buuuuuut it definitely couldn't compete with the original :)
I loved this! So nostalgic. I wish you had more though I feel like there’s so many you missed: clueless, she’s all that, 10 things I hate about you, picture this, bend it like Beckham, get a clue, cow belles
I read ALL of the books in the "Angus, Thongs and [Perfect] Snogging" series in high school. Georgia's teen-angst ridden self-centered inner monologue would make me laugh out loud. It's very British in its humor, the author would even include a Glossary of terms to help us understand the slang. The movie makes a solid attempt, but is just no where near as funny, and just doesn't capture the same experience as I got from reading the books. Le sigh.
I’m British and I’m currently reading the Angus thongs series and yesss, I don’t know how I can watch the movie now knowing that the books are so much juicier ! But the actress who plays Georgia is exactly like how you’d imagine her, imo. I kind of just use the movie as imagery in my head for the book, and imagine the actors playing our storylines from the book of you get me
i absolutely love this video!!! this genre of movies is genuinely my favorite thing in the entire world & is exactly what i grew up on!! i will forever love these movies & agree with every single one of your god tier choices! honestly even all the rankings i agree with! i’d only move confessions & aquamarine to god tier. overall i absolutely loved this video & your whole personality/energy & will definitely be watching more of your videos bc we seem to have the same taste & opinions!! 💗💗💗
It’s so funny what movies stick with different people, The Perfect Man is one of my favorite movies because it reminded me so much of my family and my mom and is such a silly feel good movie! The scene Hilary does with Heather Locklear on the pier always makes me so emotional🩷
A cinderella story….. truly iconic - my favorite - no one can change my mind! Hilary Duff was my childhood and this movie was so quotable and pure GOLD
Every single thing you said in this video was so brilliant and clever. I seriously could not stop laughing! You've just got another subscriber, and I'm so excited to see more of your videos!!! :)
FIRED UP - oh my god i can’t believe it’s on this list!!!!!! Literally my favorite movie of all time, i can pretty much quote it word for word and not many people i know have even heard of it 😭❤️
i was born on 08 and growing up with two sisters that grew up in the same eras these movies debuted is literally such a blessing, if it wasn't for my sisters then i wouldn't have developed such a great taste for 2000s teen movies. I've definitely got to see the movies that i've never watched before, and I've been looking for some good ones and this video really helped. Ty!!
this is the first video of your's i have seen, but ive been cackling the entire time. our sense of humor 🤝... the editing, the clips, your comments, the ABSOLUTE TRUTH you laid out... incredible amazing beautiful show stopping xoxo
Have been looking forward to watch this video since emma mcguien mentioned it in her ranking amanda bynes roles video and it did not dissapoint I love your tier ranking and pop culture videos so much Please keep on doing them
Love this list! I adore so many of these movies, they’re definitely comfort movies. I grew up reading “Angus Thongs & Full Frontal snogging”. I loved the diary narrative and the humor! It always had me laughing but I didn’t realize they made it into a movie until recently, so I definitely need to track it down and watch it! As questionable as the dance audition scene is, I love Save the Last Dance. When it comes to interracial relationships, it is so easy to think “who cares what people think? It’s our relationship” but this movie did a good job portraying it’s not always that easy, when the people closest to you are also saying the same thing and judging the person you love for the wrong reasons. But great video! I’m wanting to go and have a marathon of these movies!
I love this video. 2000’s girly teen movies is one of my favorite genres!! However, “Another Cinderella Story” is better than “A Cinderella Story”. I love both movies so much, but I grew up with the Selena Gomez one.
I don't know how popular it was in England, but a Walk to Remember was my FAVORITE movie in like the 6th grade. It had Mandy Moore and Shane West. I also LOVED Ella Enchanted. I may have come out in the late 90s but I also loved"10 things I hate about you", "She's all that", and "Never been Kissed" (When I feel like a frump I still tell my husband I feel like Joshie Grossie)
I had a smile on my face this entire video 1) because of your amazing comedic energy and 2) because of all the nostalgia and how much I agree with your rankings, literally everything you said I felt about each movie too 🤣🥺
Please do another ranking of 2000s iconic movies, including kelly cadet, get a clue, stuck in the suburbs, our lips are sealed, zenon the zequel, zenon z3, etc
Omg its been so long since i havent thought about these movies but i just realized that they did literally raised me. I loved watching them and theh where so iconic to me, watching this helped me process that part about my past and even how i see relatilnships and female friendship. Loved this so much 💞. Also blake Lively has the best nose job on the world
This was the PERFECT tier list. I was gonna be ready to battle if John Tucker didn't make God Tier, so KUDOS to having impeccable taste. FIRED UP had a fair ranking, but is so underrated. The comedy was unlike any other Male driven Teen Sex Comedy of the time, with the way that it incorporated intricate dialog opposed to gross out humor and the friendship chemistry between the two leads was ELECTRIC. I couldn't imagine anyone else nailing their speed in delivery. It's a shame that it came out during the oversaturation era of American Pie Wannabes.
Thank you so much for appreciating both!! Fired Up is the only boy centred movie that made the list because they were just THAT good. You’re right about their chemistry, it honestly felt like they’d been besties for years
I agree with this list so much, we need a part two because one of my favorite films from the 2000s, Stick It was not included! I would consider it moderately fetch! Great video :)
LOOOOOVED Hilary! But also love Lindsay 🫠😂 Cinderella Story is my ultimate #1… I love these videos of yours, they make me feel not so silly for absolutely still adoring these type of movies/shows 🥰
I love Judy Greer i think she’s so beautiful I also saw her in jarassic world on June 20th and I told my mom that is the girl from 13 going on 30. I think she is amazing.
i grew up with a lot of health issues and for whatever reason, i’d watch the lizzie mcguire movie every time i was sick, still do to this day as a 22 year old with a big girl job. truly my ultimate comfort movie!
Now I wanna marathon all these films. 2019 New Year's Eve I watched sleepover while home alone bc I didn't want to go out & party was a great night My fave things for movies if they were made in Australia my sister, dad & I will try spot Aussie actors & see how many are in the film. I find it funny in Aquamarine she's moving to Australia but they filmed the whole thing in QLD😂😂 Omg growing up and still now I don't understand the America schooling system with junior high & all that so I've always been like oh yeah they're probably like a grade above. Then find out like sleepover she's meant to be like 13/14 & the dude is 17 I was like oh right that's a thing.
Yesss omg I went on a whole rant about the movie being filmed in Aus and all the Aussie actors hahaha when she’s supposed to be “moving to aus” but realised non Australians might not care. I really want to try and visit the locations on the Gold Coast 😂
I like your commentary! Mean Girls, Bring It On, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, She’s The Man, and Princess Diaries are top tier for me, as well. I had such a crush on Gordo! Interestingly, I don’t remember the movie Sleepover at all. I do remember Aquamarine, but I don’t remember it being very popular. A Walk to Remember, Bend it Like Beckham, Miss Congeniality, Legally Blonde, and 10 Things I Hate About You are some more of my favs from that era. Also Twilight, but you might not consider it part of this same genre.
I did not watch most of these movies but you talking about the plot made me realize that modern slice of life anime are just 2000s American movies. The tropes, the stereotypical characters, the shopping montages and the power of friendship are just all too similar.
Came here to say Alex Pettyfer had me in a choke hold, I woulda done anything for that man 😂 also love that the sharks and jets bring it on was so high on the list cause it lives in my mind rent free
The Princess Diaries books were my young selfs obsession, and I was DEVASTATED when I saw the princess diaries 2, because they didn't use the source material at all. But the first movie is an absolute classic, and as a British gal, one of my favourite glimpses into the American schooling system.
@@AllySheehan not even slightly! Meg Cabot wrote 11 books where Mia and Micheal date throughout, apart from when she won’t have sex with her so thinks it’s better if they break up and he moves to Japan (yes it really happens) 🤦♀️ and they get married in the last book, which is the fast forward to being an adult. The first 10 books is just here at school! Damn. I didn’t realise how much of this I had suppressed until this moment 🤣
