Another great compilation of covers! I prefer Byrne’s Uncanny X-Men covers, but a very close second was his run on Fantastic Four. My least favorite was Byrne’s rendition of Spider-Man.
Glad you enjoyed! Hard to beat Byrne's X-Men. As far as covers go, yes, FF is where he started to flourish. I like his Spider-man. Amazing Spider-Man Annual 12 is one of my all-time favorite covers! Thanks for the comment!!!
I believe that one F cover his renditions of Archie, Veronica and Betty like a 60's style. Love your channel and how about a Mike Zack or Pat Broderick video if you haven't already done it
Yes, I agree that Byrne was going for an Archie vibe for sure! Thanks for the kind words and suggestions! Zeck is in the works and Broderick is one of the unsung artists who doesn't get nearly enough praise. I'd love to shine a little light on his work! Thanks for the comment!!!
Byrne was THE comic book artist for me too. At his best, I STILL consider him to be the measuring stick by which all others are tested. Thanks for the comment!!!
@@jumu446 Yes! Those are all great suggestions! There are so many good runs out there. I can't wait to get to Bolland and Zeck especially!!! Thanks for the comment!!!
@thecomicsamurai If you haven't done so, genuinely consider the Kaare Andrews Hulk covers, that homage, Where Wikd Things Are, Norman Rockwell, Steranko, and others.
I picked almost all of these issues up from UK newsagemts. I must have skipped the Lana and Lois issue, and, the issues after that because the John Byrne art looked awful. Thanks for the nostalgia.
Yes, this is the period where Byrne's work was going through a transition. He had a style that evolved more than any other in my opinion. I like some of his work better than others. I probably have the strongest feelings about his work than any other artist. Lots of nostalgia here for me too! Thanks for the comment!!!
