The Megara revenge tour is officially on. Not just for not winning Benidorm last year (tbf, Blanca got absolutely robbed in Liverpool), but they sent this exact song to compete in Benidorm this year & it got rejected & that's how they ended up in San Marino. The final line in the song basically says "if you don't love me, someone else will" & oh, what a tasty coincidence that is, given that context. (Also, extremely funny that an act that competed in UVPSM last year won Benidorm this year & an act that competed in Benidorm last year won UVPSM this year) Also, cool little detail: one of the dancers is the singer's girlfriend & I'm so fucking jealous. It must be cool af to be able to do that. Anyway, I LOVE Megara. I was sad they didn't win Benidorm last year, I was pissed they got rejected this year, but WE ON, BABY!! Go get San Marino's best result ever, guys!!

Ellos cuidan todos los detalles. En San Marino había solamente dos o tres tomas. Con la realización sueca, va a mejorar mucho. Ya lo hicieron en Benidorm el año pasado. En las preparties de Madrid y Barcelona lo vamos a pasar muy bien. Espero que Televisión Española les ayude también aquí, para tener mejor realización y lo pidan luego a la televisión sueca.
Last year Megara was contender in Benidorm fest. They got 4° place. Nebulossa was contender una voice per San Marino. This year they both have won the contest 11:11 🦊🦊🦊 MegaZorra!!!

@@javierxhr Qué sí. También era mi favorita el año pasado. Pero eso no quita para quitarle valor a Blanca Paloma. Nadie esperaba 5 ptos. Estuvimos 5° en apuestas toda la temporada. Los tops nos dejaban mínimo en el Top10 y mira 17. Es muy fácil hablar a posteriori. Pero también tenemos que valorar que fue el Benidorm fest el que los dio a conocer y mira lo lejos que están llegando...
They are Spanish, this song wasn't selected fot Benidorm Fest, so they went to San Marino. By the way, they took part of Benidorm Fest in 2023 with Arcadia. They are great. You can also watch the fun music video on RU-vid. We'll se what happens.
Dos artistas españoles juntos en Eurovisión, por tercera vez en la historia y con caminos cruzados. Nebulossa lo intentó en 2023 en San Marino y no pudo ser, y este año gana el Benidorm Fest. Megara se metió en la final española del año pasado y ganó Blanca Paloma. No fueron elegidos este año entre los 16 mejores, pero lucharon en San Marino, contra todo tipo de problemas, incluso de voz, pasaron por carambola en semifinales y lo han conseguido, cantando en español, y frente a italianos de mucho nivel, como Loredana Berte, que venía del San Remo.
This reminds me quite a lot of Ireland's entry this year, though I think Megara pulls it off much better (ignoring the poor quality from that audio mix). Haven't heard this pop-rock sound for a while, it was very common back in the noughties and early tens especially in teen movies (St Trinians, Wild Child, Snogging, etc), so I think it's going to strike some nostalgia in some people even if they don't immediately realise where that familiarity is from. Very quirky too, and at the same time intriguing lol. I think it would be appreciated even more when a better quality version is available though, because it's hard to hear everything as the mic wasn't picking it all up and I don't want to hold that against the band. This is also very TikTok friendly though.
Love it. Seems a bit unfair to me as I've been listening their music since last year and 11:11 is probably the weakest song they have. Even then, they made their way up to my top 3 this year. They're not only making it to the finals, but they're probably giving a big surprise in the results.
For the third year in a row San Marino is one of my least favorite songs. I would say this is better than last two years but thats only becayse those songs were really bad. This is just kinda meh for me. Also weird seeing San Marino sending a song in Spanish

It talks about how they weren't accepted at the Benidorm Festival and they show up to another festival "so they can jump all night." It is impossible for her to appear alone without her group because they are a group that has been together for years and are like a family. The singer would never go on stage without her family.

Apparently, all the Spanish singers who do not manage to go to Eurovision representing Spain, try in San Marino. Last year, Nebulosa, the group that is going to represent Spain this year with the song ZORRA, tried it in San Marino with the song ANOCHE.
Dunno what the band's connection to the name is, but Megara is a name in Greek mythology, she was Heracles's wife (she's Meg in the Disney movie). In the original stories she becomes Herc's wife after he saves her father, but then the goddess Hera makes Herc go crazy and he murders his and Megara's children and has to do the 12 labours to atone for this. In some versions of the story he also murders Megara while crazy and in others they decide they have to split up (or Hera'll just keep doing her thing) and she marries Herc's nephew instead.
