@@antitheist3206, @Gloria Mangold You guys are *seriously* misremembering the comic. No, Doc Scratch isn't so frail as to die by a broom. In one of the first times we see him he is attacked by Spades Slick beating him with a solid iron horse hitcher, to which he is completely unphased, and he then proceeds to bend the iron hitcher into a pretzel with ease. The reason he was seemingly "killed" by the broom was that he can only die the moment his goal is accomplished so that Lord English can emerge from him, the broom beating is just a gag based on the timing of Hussie's arrival. Secondly, no, his powers are not outclassed by everyone in the comic. He has First Guardian powers ffs, the very same powers that made Bec Noir a threat to the entire main cast of characters and reality itself for almost the entire length of the comic. He can teleport seemingly with no distance limit (for instance, teleporting the young Handmaiden thousands of light years to the Condesce's ship instantaneously), cause shit to explode with deadly force at will (how Vriska lost her eye and arm) and apparently do crazy shit like tie people's lives directly to a universe, making him indirectly able to destroy entire universes by himself (as is the case with Snowman.) It's not that he "isn't a god, just simply an omniscient being," it's that he, as the exact quote you're referencing actually states, "has power and knowledge *far exceeding* a god." He is indestructible, all-knowing, and omnipotent.

Not quite. Scatch knew all along he was going to win this chess match. He knew every pieces' moves before they were played. However, in focusing on that, he can't see the forest for the trees. He knows his queen shall go to E6, but not that it would be in the waffle grid. He knew the exact ending positions of all the pieces, but not that they spelled hors. The only way to best scratch, is to beat him at the game he doesn't think he's playing.

Zion's World I use GIMP 2.0. It's free and generally easier to use than PS, though it does lack some features. Still a good program for an amateur like myself.

doc scratch is misreading ah's simple hijinks as mind games, he ends up winning, but in his victory, he realises he placed the pieces on a doodle of the word 'hors' hussie made on the board. he won, but he played into hussie's hands

Spoilers ofc Doc Scratch is playing a game of chess with Andrew Hussie. Hussie does seeminly random things like replacing all the pieces with a horse themed chess set and putting a plate of food on the board which Doc Scratch believes to be Hussie trying to play mind games and mocking his omnscience. In actuality Hussie just wanted to get rid of a bunch of horse items and to eat his breakfast for dinner. Doc Scratch has a bit of a mental breakdown but eventually wins the chess game. Hussie however has the last laugh because even though the final move allowed Doc Scratch to win the remaining pieces spell out the word HORS. Im not sure if having the word HORS on Doc's head is supposed to be that it was also now written on his head or he just couldn't stop thinking about it. Hope that makes sense!

The word "hors" on his face could mean that even though he's pseudo-omniscient, he's just a "hors" - a chess piece - in Hussie's game.

Basically, Scratch is playing chess against Hussie. Hussie on the other hand is doing the most ridiculous things instead of playing the game. Scratch on the other hand is trying to put meaning to everything, but fails when Andrew scribbles “HORS” on the chess set.
