Let's Repair - TI84 LCD Swap 

Because $$$ and the "throw-away-and-buy-a-new-one" nature of our consumerism society. I've had to resort to 3D printing for some replacement parts such as the battery door, backup battery door, feet (which I had to model), and currently looking for and testing good models for the slide covers to get these repaired and ready for resale. I still wouldn't mind finding the OEM for the LCDs for both TI83 and TI84 models as I have bout 15 84s that need a new screen. I've got a few for-parts calcs I'll harvest from, but I've only got so many. I've got a TI84C SE with a cracked screen I'm waiting to find a good donor to have a fix video on that one.

In this case it took 3x the work as the first donor screen had corrosion that ate through the LCD legs so I had use another donor calculator.

Maybe small batches of 2 or 3 as long as I have a donor calc for the screen either on my stock or, preferably, provided by the user. I've only been able to replace a TI83 and TI84 series. I've tried a TI89 Titanium, but the adhesive is too strong, so the side LCD cable was damaged in the process. Not sure what I would charge yet as I currently fix and resell.

I've had to use donor calcs with dead boards for these kind of repairs. Unfortunately TI has the parts on lockdown and I have not been able to find any replacement LCDs to drop in for these unless you have contacts with the manufacturing warehouse where these are assembled in and can get them from the OEM. The part number on the screens that I've swapped out lead nowhere as well.

I wonder if it is possible to find a manufacturer that can create a almost replica screen on Ali baba or some other big company.
