Mods you could use is 256 recruit limit mod, you got to the squad member ceiling here. Also one to consider is " reactive world" it does make the world react more to your actions. Armor types you should look for is : Drifter leather jacket it gives you a 1.1 x crossbow modifier, for crossbowmen Leather turtleneck, it covers the entire torso of the wearer , perfect as basic shirts for you crew. Its light armor, so it doesnt give any negative stats. Blacked Chainmail, its pretty much the best armor shirt in the entire game, when you get the chance to get the blueprint take it. It covers the entire torso as well. When you visit new towns make sure to vist the Shinobi thieves, they have a ton of half price items, its worth the trip. For next time you get attacked, give your best turret guys the job as a turret guard. Give the lowest priority, when attacked just switch it up, you wont have to manually attack them. There is also an option to make them more likely to shoot faster. Also you have to be pretty careful with that crossbow on the roof, your people are not the most precise shots so they can hit your teammates insanely hard. You know, for your bar, you could check the box to open your camp to the public then build a few of the stalls that let you sell goods to NPC's. You could get an actual working bar in your city.

he is a hive soldier drone. i think those are typically better at fighting.

It's still possible to improve the defenses at the main gate. If you intend on expanding you could take into account what you have learned. I would try building walls from scratch around the existing settlement and build in a complete circle. Then add in a Sally port area where you can shoot from all sides when they are inside. You can even make it a 3 Gate system. I know of a Castle in Europe (Germany or Austria) that has a whopping 12!!!! Gatehouses.

If I may offer some personal experience about the places you're in / going to though... 1. Go to your Map and click the Faction folder, you will see to the right side in "Upcoming Events" what type of visitors you're supposed to expect and how long it'll take until they spawn. But as you correctly surmised it is very well possible that they get killed / injured moving towards you (depending from where they spawn and have to move through). 2. Sand is headed towards The Crater, and I hope for his sake that his 76 Athletics will be enough to outrun the beasts that lurk within. If not, well...he might very well never be seen again. Prepare yourself. 3. Clownsteady and everything in the Southwest is belonging to the United Cities - which means you need to be avoiding all those Nobles inside and especially those that are roaming outside. The ones you can encounter in the wilds are always geared with an Eagle's Cross and have a band of 6 Empire hooded Noble bodyguards around them, wearing heavy Samurai armor and Nodachis of High or better quality. At your current state of the game, please do not engage them unless you want your people to find an untimely end (or being dragged into Slavery). And while being at the topic of UC, don't make them your enemies, for the Raid of the Band of Bones you had to endure is but a mild gust of wind compared to the Typhoon of what the UC will be sending towards you if you get on their bad side. If you can, train some of your people in the use of Crossbows, and train them well. You will find it to be a lifesaver (unless, well, the aiming is off...)

Here's a few little tips, hope they help you :D 1) put some food in Gary's backpack. He'll eat that first if he's too far away from the trough and it'll keep him eating the foods you want him to eat. 2) Assigning the turrets as a job and turning jobs on will keep them on the turrets. Also try fixing the navmesh to make sure that's not the problem.

Your series has been out for 3 yrs now, and I knew from one of your other videos that you eventually figured out the crossbow/harpoon firing arcs. It was just a matter of time and whether one of the upcoming episodes was where you would sort out your defenses. :D Every time you commented on your crossbows not firing previously, I was like aargh, but I bided my time and kept watching! Looks like patience paid off, and it's all good now. :D Really enjoying this series!

@rycon : i noticed a lot of your characters dont use any main weapon. this is fine against unarmored targets but against metal armor you might want something that doesnt get -30% armor penetration like the katana (i personally recommend hackers like long cleavers (+30%ap )). and feed that poor garry, jesus ! XDXDXD oh and crater = danger ;) (i mean it, that place is vicious)

You might want to start with some strength training. Iron ore is good for that. For toughness, send your characters alone into a hungry bandit mob, set the rest to passive and hold and see if he is playing dead (get up in that case for a bonus).As for turrets, select it as a job and choose the AI-Setting where they will attack anything that might look hostile. I usually give scorchlanders and hivers cutting weapons or crossbows, shek get big weapons / hackers and greenlanders are fine with anything.

My theory about Crater is that it's the site of a massive thermonuclear explosion, or some super weapon, maybe what caused the first extinction. I think the dirt is glass from the intense heat maybe. "The Grid" is clearly man-made or skeleton-made. Maybe it was a massive factory or something similar that made it a primary target in a war. Edit: also, it's funny, I thought Riddly was a Flotsam Ninja, since I encountered her with them. I had no idea she was able to generate anywhere else! That's really cool. Kenshi always surprises me.

I love Dogmeat so much, she's such an MVP. IMO mature bonedogs are OP. I literally killed a whole HN squad with just three. They oneshot the servants and I just juked the paladins until they died.

Awesome stuff. So I was playing and found a huge dome for sale north of Shark in Mudtown. With semi self sustaining industry and materials. Maybe the hivers could try establish more for the Legion of Dreamers. Haha. Love watching the stories unfold.

You need to rename "Rehmen" to "Gimli" him beeing a dwarf and all.

Garry is staying close to Green because he understands how long range weapons work. :)

oh thank goodness he fixed that sallyport lol. I'm still a pretty new player and that was bugging me so much. Now he just need(ed) to fix that "fish tail" and integrate that whole area.

Neglected to add that if you try an idea like that ten you can remove the inner walls or keep them or rebuild them. It's up to you.

You can go into your Faction menu and see who is attacking you and when they are attacking so you can prepare better for incoming battles.

Rycon i think you need more beds for situations like that attack and maybe expand the walls out to give you more building space.
