God I love Stubbs Momuso XD His personality is the best!

As Sand sits still inside the bar, a strange man, toolkits were strapped to his arms, a cog as pendant to his necklace, he is hidden under his old cloak with drawings of plans and architecture. The old man murmurs to himself then suddenly cast his sights towards Sand shouting with his hoarse voice, "The Grid! The Grid! The Grid!" then passed out.

Just some food for thought, you may consider getting a couple of skeletons to use as 'permanent' turret gunners as they don't need to eat or sleep and can stand sentinel eternally.

Another great episode. Good to see those sweet new fotifications. As for the equipment woes, here are some solid choices: ARMOUR: Dustcoat (Blueprints can be bought in Scraphouse near Black Desert City or in Tech Hunter shops / library in Black Scratch) - THE workhorse body armour - great coverage, no skill penalties, minor bonuses to eg. stealth, and protection from both Acid and Burning (those satellite lasers in Venge); Requires leather crafting bench. Crab Helmet (blueprints can be stolen from various Crab Smithies in Crab Raider villages along Greenbeach and Stobe's Garden; can be bought after allying with the Crabbers by negotiating with the Crab Queen) - The ultimate headgear in the game (excluding mods), best used on melee fighters because of its penalty to perception. Requires heavy armor smithy. Somewhat difficult to get at this point of the game, since the various tribes inhabiting the region are tough as nails - best to send a lone thief, who can sneak past the local thugs / steppe pirates / cultists / rebels / crazed murderbots / rabid apes / giant enemy crabs. Samurai Clothpants - THE workhorse pants for any wasteland settler; can be manufactured using the Clothing Bench or Leather Armor Crafting Bench; The former is a better choice, since it requires only fabrics. Great coverage, no penalties, quick to manufacture. Iron Hat - looks great, gives a solid bonus to perception, has very decent protection. Excellent choice for ranged units, especially when coupled with Ninja Rags or Difter's Leather Jacket. Blackened Chainmail / Leather Turtleneck - full torso & arm protection, the latter is best suited for newbies , rangers or thieves, given its lack of skill/stat penalties. The drawback? They take ages to manufacture, multiple crafting stations may be required. Ninja Rags - good for turret gunners and crossbowmen. The bonus to crossbows also increases Precision Shooting, a VERY important skill for any ranged character who isn't a lone wolf sniper. WEAPONS: Naginata - best for recruits / workers. Fast, lightweight, has crazy attack range (can hit multiple grouped enemies), +6 to melee attack and +50% dmg against animals. Trains dexterity better than the basic Polearm. Heavy Polearm - aka. The Can Opener; another cutting polearm weapon (for DEX training), this one has a very nice bonus against armours, +25% dmg against animals, + 4 to melee attack. A solid choice for more seasoned recruits facing better armored foes. Desert Sabre - aka. the Spider Killer; has some great bonuses against desert & swamp fauna, no skill penalties; Looks bada$$. Foreign Sabre + Jitte - These 2 weapons give huge bonuses to melee defence, excellent for melee tanks in block mode or for combat medics; The Jitte also works like a charm as an offhand parrying weapon for crossbowmen/turret gunners. RESOURCES & ARMOR SMITHING Since the only resource you cannot produce locally in basically unlimited quantities is Leather (due to Animal Skin requirements), it would be practical to focus on Fabrics (req. Hemp), Armor Plating (req. Iron Ore) and Chainmail Sheets (req. Steel Bars) production that'll give you access to Clothing, Heavy/Medium metal armors and Chainmail armors. Manufacturing stations for the last 2 components train Armor Smithing - you can basically assign like 4 Scorchlanders to produce them, and with enough supplies and storage containers they can level up each of them to 80 in Armour Smithing before long (and that will allow you to mass-produce Specialist grade armor right off the bat). Also, you can sell Armor Plating and Chainmail Sheets for HUGE profits - sth like 45 armor plates can net you 25K Cats in Squin. Hope these tips help a bit. :] Cheers, Doc

Some history time for you people and Rycon. The reason why the Shek are demanding food for tribute is , that their kingdom is in ruins after the battle with the Holy Nation. There was once a King of the Shek his name was King Shager. As he and his people thought that they could get only honour in battle they fought the Holy Nation which seemed like suicide, because the odds of them wining was slim and the population of the two battling sides were in favour of the Holy Nation. As King Shager wanted to lead a devastating suicide attack against the Holy Nation Bayan the adviser of the current leader Estata stepped in and prosteted his command. Shager was furious, and finaly Estata stepped in and they fought, in the end Estata was victorious. Shager's last words were: "Finish me, I'll die a warrior than live a coward", and Estata killed him. Estata tried to rebuild the Shek Kingdom , but they didnt have the green land they lost after they fought the Holy Nation, that's why the Shek Kingdom don't want Cats, they don't want you to work for them, they only want ressources to feed their people. They are racist towards strangers (flatskins) but only because they had their land taken from them. If you try to grow food near to the citys you will see , that there is only very little water (even less than in the Sandcastle), and that there is not growing anything expect cacti (you can still grow Wheatstraw there , but its way harder than in the Sandcastle), that's why they take a lot of food, it seems harsh but it's because of the Shek the land isn't overrun by the spider hordes to the south or the racist Holy Nation to the north. TL:DR pay their tribute ;)

Really interesting character that Stubbs. Great mix of humor and taking himself too seriously. Even if it's a long way to go with episodes, that man deserves his own shirt!

Hey ryncon, when the shek comes to demand their tribute you can get all of the food on the barrels and put on Garry, because they don’t see Garry’s inventory

I bought the game because my curiosity got the better of me after binge-watching you're let's roleplay up to this point. Tried to make a base in Squin cause the Shek seemed like cool bros, but one thing led to another and now I'm currently on the run after I waited too long in the general store without realizing my timer was still going at full speed and... I ended up killing the shopkeeper while I was trying to break through the door to get out. After that got knocked out by the guards, managed to unlock my cage, and was miraculously saved by the dust bandits of all people as for some reason they decided to charge the gates and I made my escape. All in all, it was pretty fun.

Rycon, I loved the intro! I do think it's time to start properly arming everyone and getting them trained up as warriors. The Legion needs to strengthen in order to better survive.

Losing both legs has it's benefits. Specifically, if you equip two scout legs you can get the characters running speed very high.

A long V shape leading to the gate is the best defense I've found so far with 3 towers on each side of the V. Even then turret gunners can be so buggy building a base is always risky until your dudes can melee any attacks you might get. Base building is one of the last things I usually do just because it ties your hands so much if your team isn't big and strong enough yet. Great series though my dude still to this day all of this great content you made here has really helped my brain relax through some pretty rough times. If it hasn't been said enough already ty for making this series Rycon you are truly awesome.

You should have taken the majority of your food out of storage when you saw that they were coming..Next time put as much stored food as possible on your people and pack animals as you can ...Never leave large quantities food in storage if you are not ready to fight them..They don't care if they leave you with nothing to feed your people!!..LOL

I like this version of Sandpit much better, Nice work! It's unfortunate that you cant build a stub wall without the fence on either side of the middle gate. Would be nice if the harpoon turret crews could just run along the wall to the inner Murder hole. That would be a most useful mod indeed.

What an intense episode, and with quite the cliffhanger ahead. I think even the folks here who want you to give in to the Shek Kingdom's tribute demands in the next episode won't deny that they've basically acted like a group of bandits by bullying the Sandpit out of their food. Life is hard enough in the desert without needing to worry about extortion from a group that was supposed to be a shield from the Holy Nation. I can't say what will happen next, but whatever the choice, there will be consequences. Give in to the demands? The Sandpit will be hurting for food once a week, and the Shek will keep bullying it out of the settlement. Refuse the demands? Maybe the enemy of your enemy is not quite your friend after all. The Shek Kingdom could turn hostile, and there will certainly be merciless raids. It's times like this that we must ask ourselves... what would the smartest person in the group say... Well Hobbs, what do you thin- STUBS MOMUSO!

Poor Stubs, people judge him for being the first to fall but he is the one who goes all out in a fight being probably the only one without decent armor

Im only 20 minutes in but to address the Shek Tributes, dont piss them off. You're not ready to take on the Shek Kingdom, they will trash sands poor group. Even if you defeat several of their raids, they'll send a large contingent of heavily armored extremley skilled hundred guardians. I know sand and park have seen how powerful hundred guardians are many times. When a shek tribute is on its way, move all your food to a chest or storage boxes. They'll arrive, see your food store is empty and consider it as your settlement being out of food and they'll leave without a problem. They'll only take food if you have it in your food store. Just dont tell them no, or they will destroy your outpost.

FYI. You can hire tech hunters as base defenders/body guards as well and you can hire more than one group at a time.

The arrows above the structures you place changes the level of structure. You can build less advanced versions of buildings or manufacturing facilities with it.

Perhaps you could organize the new squads by both job and defense role? Higher turret skills working in the iron district get called Iron Fist, and the guys working the farms with good turret skills could get called Leaf Fist. Second set of squads for folks from those districts who you want near the gates so they can rush down and go full melee. Then you wouldn't have to sort through everybody and try to remember who you want in the key positions every time you get attacked. You could get super organized and actual form those squads in the order you want them lined up on the wall, so that the squad is ordered by descending weapon skill.

You obtain ancient science books, AI cores, and engineering research primarily by raiding ancient ruins. However, there is one location where you can buy them. Not gonna spoil it though.

Have one of your member train for turret. And if you really want to make Stubbs Momuso an icon. Make him go out and train him By letting hungry bandit fight him to improve his skills in combat & beating him down and get back up for toughness. Then if you think he is strong enough. Make him go hunt spiders and collect trophies and sell them for food.

As much as i love these games you roleplay, (i have played them) i have a hard time replayin them. The build up takes soooo much time I rarely play twice in fact. I mea twice up to the advanced part of the game.

Lookup 'bastion fort' on Wikipedia. Its a method of fort construction used from the time of gun powder that leaves no spots infront of a fort that cant be shot at from inside. Plus there symmetry is a delight to the eye. I know its a bit late but it might help for next time your building one

I built a base in this exact location today not even knowing that this is the exact same spot you built your base in I was watching the video and I was thinking this looked a lot like my location and you opened the map and I was in shock:(), your base is a lot bigger than mine and I only have around 20-25 people

regarding the shek tribute, there are only two ways out of that afaik if you dont want to move your outpost to somewhere else. either decline it, but this will ensure a war with them, and they will send their "hundred guardians", stronger as krals choosen. the other option is to get your reputation with them to 100, which isnt easy either. Edit: You could try to load all you food on gary and send him to the waystation shortly before the shek tribute collectors arrive and just let him chill there ehile they search your base. I am not shure if you get bad reputation if they find no food though. you played quite a "civil" playthrough until now, and I think its time to focus on military aspects more, as many others pointed out on the last vid. maybe have a training group and get their stats up by fighting bandits near the hub. rotate through so that everyone gets training. use your self made equipment instead of selling it. I know its super grindy and will take a lot of your attention away from the sandpit. but its the only way to get to a point where you can defend yourself against bullies. hiring mercenaries and having the turrets will certeinly help at the moment, but it won't be enough in long terms. you dont want to rely on mercenaries in the long run.

Should have had everyone you can fill their backpacks full of food. before you agreed to give them the food. I don't think they would have known that you guys had that much on you.

The walls are better, and will probably fend off the Kral, perhaps worse (if they're anything like the Holy Nation that sends stronger and larger groups over time). Some feedback though... - The outer gate. Pro's: it keeps enemy concentrated, so that weak turreters should hit something even if they miss; delays the enemy. Con: they can get up and crawl away/escape out of reach of the turreters (like the ranged guy); you have to manually either open the gate when needed, or let them destroy it, and manually repair it each time. The goal is entirely sustainable automated defenses. - You overreacted by pulling everyone off their jobs (understandable though, to test out after the last encounter). If your defenses are well designed however, you should be able to assign dedicated turret jobs (they should automatically feed themselves and return), and essentially forget about almost any attack. Even high boss level ones. No need to completely interrupt your industry. That's the goal at least.

My suggestions; pick up the action. I love the base building but you need more money and man power. I suggest another raid to free slaves. the Slaves start pretty strong and you need more soldiers. You need to start recruiting more soldiers to defend and start making more arms and Armour.

I know im late to this but your walls weren't built because you probably don't own them. Walls built too far from your main "buildings" arent part of your outpost anymore.
