Fun fact since you mentioned it, people explaining how their cursed techniques work is an actual thing in the show. How it’s explained is essentially because you are giving the enemy an advantage by explaining how your technique works, your technique in turn becomes more inherently powerful against them, kinda like an equivalent exchange, they gain an advantage so you also gain an advantage. So this means that characters will often explain exactly how their technique works to their opponents in order to give their techniques more power.

Jogo isn't weak by any means. Last episode, Geto said he was about as strong as 8 or 9 Sukuna fingers. At a low estimate. Now, maybe Geto was just being a bit generous. Maybe Jogo is a bit weaker than that. Or maybe he was telling the truth and he's actually a bit stronger than 8 or 9 fingers. Either way, he's one of the strongest curses we've seen. At around nearly half of Sukuna's full power. If anyone else had fought him, it probably would've been game over. But Gojo isn't just anyone else. He said fighting Sukuna with all 20 fingers would be tough but that he was certain he could eventually win. And we see that strength was no bluff. Gojo is so strong that he makes the strong look weak. So yeah. That's nice. Now we have a new curse who is tagging along for the ride. Enter: Mahito.

In the jjk power system, explaining your technique actually gives you a power boost 😂. Its a pact called "revealing one's hand". You get stronger but at the same, you reveal your hand to the opponent.

I don't think it's ever mentioned or explained properly, but I learned recently that the reason why characters explain how their powers is because if their opponents know what's coming, it somehow actually makes their powers stronger than if they simply attacked without first explaining how it works. Don't know how that works, but I do love that the author took a trope that's prevalent in a lot of shounen series where characters monologue during a fight how their abilities work and actually provided a reasonable explanation as to why characters in Jujutsu Kaisen do it. EDIT: The reverse is apparently also true after looking into it a little more. If someone figures out how your power works before it is explained to you, it negates the boost in power and it remains the same. So there's even a reason for characters who either verbally or internally monologue how an opponents power works, because figuring it out makes it weaker.

Jogo isn't weak, he's one of the strongest Cursed Spirits ever, I believe Gojo intentionally called him weak to trigger him, but then again EVERYONE is weak against Gojo.

Other people have already chimed in about how explaining your technique increases your power. A big part of this magic system is the idea of trade-offs or sacrifices being an important pillar of building power. Yeah it's sort of a silly way to deliver information to the audience (if you ever read the manga the author REALLY likes thinking about and explaining aspects of the system and characters' techniques, sometimes to the story's detriment). But as far as in-story reasons for Anime exposition, it's probably one of the better ones I've seen.

What's cool in this show by explaining your ability makes it stronger. That's good to remember because in the current season, the villain says during the fight he won't be petty and explain his quirk because then it won't be fun
