Patrick is a doll. He says just the right thing and looked so handsome! No one could make those shirts look better. He was such a good sport. Funny too. The whole package.
That was really sweet! It's really good of you to sew for your husband, and it's really good of him to participate in your video. You know I'm always here for the colour content, so if Patrick's happy to turn up for a colour analysis I'd happily watch it. I've been tempted to throw different colours at my partner to determine his season, but I'd don't think he'd have the patience for it, so he'd be a moving target. 😅 Also, I'd like to see a Q&A video!
Hey!! It was so fun having him in it too! Thinking it could be fun to film teaching him how to use my machine someday too. I’d have to do a bit of thrifting and digging around for some drapes, but I think it would be fun, and he sounds intrigued enough! Haha Both of our wardrobes consist of pretty much all muted colors, and I suspect he’s muted too. He does look really good in black though, so I’m thinking I’m going to have to find some winter drapes. He looks good in most things to me though, so maybe that’s all it is! 😂 I’ll try to figure out where to post for the Q&A!
@@madewithrach Ha ha, it will be interesting to see if you can evaluate him with an objective eye then You're not on Instagram, are you? RU-vidrs often used question boxes on Instagram to solicit questions for RU-vid videos. There's also the RU-vid Community tab where you could post an invitation for questions, I think. It's not something I'm that familiar with, but I think it's an option.
Such a great video! Thanks for sharing so many of the steps. I have been wanting to make a McCall's bowling shirt for at least one of my sons who are fairly tall as well. I wasn't familiar with this pattern but I've heard great things about Wardrobe by Me. Thanks for introducing me to this pattern! Loved the ending/reveal. So cute and funny.
Thanks so much! It really is a great pattern, and the instructions were so good! I plan on making Patrick so many shirts with it. I’m sure your son will love his shirt too!
This is super impressive! I'm very new to sewing, but would absolutely love to be able to sew clothes for my husband someday, as he really struggles to find clothes that fit him perfectly in the shops. Loving your videos though.
Thank you so much!! You really should! It’s so fun to be able to make him shirts that feel a little special, and being able to adjust the fit is amazing! Once you feel ready to tackle a project like this, I highly recommend this pattern since the instructions are so great. You’d be surprised what you’re able to make with some really good instructions as long as you have the basics down! It usually seems way harder than it actually is!
@@madewithrach It truly sounds like a fantastic idea! Let's hope this is the year that I tackle a bit bigger project like this... Next step that I need to learn is how to use an overlocker though.
You motivated me to sew my husband a shirt as well. I’ve never sewed a man shirt and after a short search I found out something: there are shirts with Joke and without. Are the shirts without Joke the so called “Aloha shirt” and are more casual? Which kind of cut is better for a plain linen fabric? What would like hear how other friends think 🤔
Love the video! Our "boys" have the same taste for shirts ahahah it's funny I also make a lot for him 😊 the end was super funny because my boyfriend don't like video neither photos but if I make something to him I want to show to other people ahahah I showed him the end part with your husband and he feels really relatable ahahah 😅
Haha Yeah Patrick was a pretty good sport about it! I’ll definitely be including him in more of my videos, so he’ll just have to get more used to being on camera! ☺️
It makes it SO much easier! Mine came in a little baggy with my machine along with a few other dood-dads. It has little measuring marks on it, so you can make sure they’re all the same size, and it keeps the fabric pressed down and straight. Game changer! Thanks for watching!
I was about to say the same, the yellow/mustard is so cool but the blue one looked so much better on him! Everything looked cohesive whereas the mustard just slightly washed him out! But both look so good! I’m a newb to sewing so been binge watching your videos as I’m an autumn too so have loved watching you choose your clothing carefully based on this
