I think Starlight looks pretty faithful to the season 4.

Have you considered using a brown wash instead of a black one for slapchop minis with a lot of skin? While black is good for showing extra contrast on stronger colors, for fleshly colors the combination of the strong contrast and combining cool and warm colors leads to the unappealing look you mention. Might be worth experimenting with.

Oh that could work... I will have to try for flesh... Because I have tested dark vs brown wash on other minis and what differen in how they came out

Have you tried only drybrushing vertically for your slapchops? It looks more like you're trying to smoosh the brush into everything, instead of letting it only hit the raised areas. Could be the reason your skin and other flat panels had some splotches.

Oh yeah I have done that simple vertical dry brushing in the past but I have many others do this technique of rotation dry brushing and I wanted to test it out

Interesting. I'm experimenting with Speedpaints 2.0, and to be honest, I don't think any of the "flesh" tones really work for skin. They always look splotchy and uneven, which may be ok for monsters and grimdark creatures, but not for regular humans, superheroes, etc. What surprisingly works well is the metals. Also, the various browns for leather, pouches, belts, etc are good.

Specially with slap chop the skin speed paints are not great. But I do agree that the metallic and browns are great with this method

Guy I gotta tell ya. I enjoy watching your videos and I think your a talented painter, but.......enough already with begging army painter for some free stuff. Stop referring to yourself as a "youtuber" like it's some sort of attained status, your embarrassing yourself. And I'm not saying this to troll you. I genuinely like your work but I cringe for you when I hear you pleading for free stuff. Trust me, when you reach the point that your on Army Painters radar you'll start getting things sent to you.

I completely respect that... and will always shoot for the stars... but I will try and keep the begging for free stuff to a minimum... thanks for the kind words about my work though.
