From a horse rider, recommend learning at a school. Riding different horse every weeks teaches you how to ride them all and all the different quirks of a horse if you get your own you’ll only learn how to ride just that one horse. I think riding riding schools makes you an overall better rider and more well rounded 🥰🥰 If you do buy your own, hope you enjoy the exciting time ahead of you ❤❤❤

Hey Molly, I’ve been an equestrian all my life and loaned plenty of horses. I too started in a riding school and there’s no shame in being a beginner! The industry can be tough in places, but you just have to find your horsey ‘people’ in the same way you mentioned you’re so used to being surrounded by lovely people that viewing the horse was a bit of a shock. There are PLENTY of equestrians that will uplift and support you in your riding journey! I hope you can find the right horse for you. ❤ I would really recommend doing the BHS stage 1 qualification if you want to feel a bit more confident in yourself and your ability to care for and ride a horse.

Maybe you should look into sharing a horse. Owning a horse requires so much time and if I am honest I don't think you have the time as a mom and with your job. The horse would end up being ridden by other people anyway because it needs exercise every day. So by sharing, you can get an idea of owning a horse slowly 😊

As a fellow equestrian who started riding properly as an adult I would highly recommend loaning a horse first! The horse world can be very bitchy but I wonder if maybe the person was worried you weren’t right for each other. Horses are very sensitive animals and some less forgiving than others if they sense you aren’t experienced or confident. And just because you ride them for the first time and they are ok it could be a whole different story when they move and are in an environment they don’t know. I’m sorry she made you uncomfortable but I hope it was meant for the right reasons. And wasn’t meant to be. I would carry on enjoying your lessons and look for a local loan or share so you can connect and bond with one horse! I absolutely love that you enjoy horses and riding it is honestly the best thing in the world ❤ good luck with your horsey journey and make sure you bring us along ❤

I’m sorry Molly that you had such a rubbish experience horse wise! It’s an absolutely amazing lifestyle to have (more than just a hobby!) they are pure therapy regardless of what you choose to do with them. I hope you find your heart horse in the new year! I also got a giant keloid on the front and back of my helix piercing, in the end I had to have an operation and they cut it off the front and back and then stitched my ear back together🫠 had to have a bandage wrapped around my head for 5 days to keep the pressure and the bruise was insane😬 this was about 9 years ago or so now and I still get a slight, uncomfortable pain if I sleep on my right side - it’s so not worth it, I stick to tattoos now😅😅

I also horse ride and completely agree, it is a therapy! The moment I get to the horses, every single thought I have in my mind; disappears. Such special animals ❤ & also being a mum, it’s my “me” time xxxx

I’ve had the same problems with my piercings in those places - studs are SO much better in these places although not as cute So you could use a stud daily and then for occasions swap it for a ring

I honestly feel for you, i can just see in your eyes that you are going through it. I whatever it is, always remember that you are honestly a great person and a great mother, you are beautiful inside and out. I had the same issue with piercings, and I ended up getting another one. The lady told me not to use products that had any alcohol or hydrogen peroxide in them (I was always given those). She said it actually slows down the healing process; simply use salt water. That was an actual game-changer. I've never had any problems again.

From an equestrian girl, keep riding at the school and get to your best. There’s so much more than just the riding part it’s a life style! Horse people will judge you but a lot of the time it’s because they know what that horse needs. I’d honestly keep riding another year, maybe look at loaning first, then buy one. You wanna walk in looking 100%, ask all the right questions & then you’ll be fine :)

Love this, and I can 100% confirm as a horse rider having your own horse is a completely different experience to just having lessons. I’ve been lucky enough to have 2 of my own and I wouldn’t change a minute if it, yes it’s hard work, yes it time consuming and expensive but honestly it’s the best feeling in the world - I’m retraining my exracehorse Nancy Noodle over on my channel and love sharing our journey🧡 Don’t let your experience on that viewing get you down, it’s a tough world and everyone seems to have an opinion no matter how advanced you are so try not to take it personally.
