Me too I'm going to be 69 this month and I have been rocking with the legend Al Green since I was 18 and college and to be honest I still play something of his everyday and one of my first albums was living for you and I still play it on the regular😊😊😊😊 have a blessed day
When l was a kid growing up in south central Mississippi in the mid 1960s we didn’t have a local black radio station. So to listen to black music on the radio, we had two options: one was leaving the radio on late at night to receive the radio signal from Memphis R&B AM radio WDIA. It was only clear late at night. And two, on Sunday mornings, we would call the local white pop radio station and request that they play a black R&B and Soul song. One on the songs we requested the most was one of Al Green’s early songs ‘Back Up This Train’. I always include that song on any old skool playlist l create.
