These instruments can be difficult to perform live, but can sound really good when layed out as a composition with midi and strategically placed keyswitches. Great review!

I actually do play guitar, but I find that the VI guitar parts sound better in my mixes.

Same here. Plus I can have a track done with a VI by the time I can get my guitar tuned perfect enough to record, the mic set up, and the levels set.

I’m investigating virtual guitars and the Ujam instruments sound good, but I also have several that came in NI Komplete 14. Capabilities are similar, but the Ujam instruments seem a little easier to use - but buying them individually or even in a bundle is more expensive. What’s your opinion on Ujam versus NI Komplete? And what’s the most cost effective way to acquire 5 or 6 of the Ujam virtual guitars?

Actually no, as all you really need are enough keys to voice the chords and change styles. You could even trigger the style variations from drum trigger pads that you might find on some of the smaller controllers. Thanks for watching.

@@PraiseTracks Ok, I've always thought we need at least 49 keys but I only hv an Arturia Keystep 37. I have Amber and Silk but haven't touched them for a season so wondering if I should get Amber2. I wonder how a midi guitar can be set up to play Amber2? I just bought the Jamstik studio. I know it's a weird question since with a guitar controller, you could just play the guitar like a guitar (although the Amber and Amber2 would session in ways I could never play - haha)

It’s all in triggering chord voicings, whether on a keyboard or other controller. Amber will detect the chord based on the input it receives.

Hi Simeon, great sounding library. I now wrote this comment three times but after a few minutes there disappeared. I want to tell you about a maybe interesting RU-vid channel of Maik Schott. He makes incredible realistic sound patches and phrases for the Korg wavestate and the native version of big hits of the past because you sometimes do some nice chord progressions with library’s I thought that be something for you? I don’t want to embedded his RU-vid channel link here because of the automatic deleting of my last comments within the link. Maybe that’s the reason?

Can you play your own guitar - or something else - - into Amber and just use the effects?

Unfortunately, no, the Finisher effects are hard wired into the instrument. UJAM does however feature several stand alone Finisher styled effects plugins which take a similar approach to the Amber effects but you have a little more fine control over the sound. Thanks for watching.
