Just bought my first model in 30 years. Watched your Chevelle build. 1 kid still home but my time is freeing up so I'm jumping back in. Thx for the channel!!
Love your collection of kits and die cast cars. Your Skyline is awesome. Fantastic details on the interior. The Renault also looks terrific. My favorite die-cast is your dad's '47 Ford. Has to be one of my favorite Danbury cars. May your dad rest in peace. Thanks for sharing Matt.
Matthew, I've got a big collection of diecast from Franklin and Danbury Mints. One of the members of a diecast site I'm on did a teardown of a damaged model, and found that China had no consistent formula for the metal used in our models. He is a metallurgist by trade, and the pot metal had wild mixtures of metal melted down and then poured into the mold all over the body. Having said that, the common agreement among us collectors is to keep our collections where temperatures are constant. If not, there will be paint damage very soon. Basements and attics are both off limits in most houses. If your shop is not being maintained at constant temperatures year-round, your Dad's cars will see more paint damage. Btw, eBay shows the WIX promotional car is a 1:24. And finally, I definitely enjoy the videos that show your past builds. Keep 'em coming!
Nice video Matthew, thanks for sharing. The diecast cars are exceptional. Ruthie's Mustang looks great. I really like your take on the GT40. I've tried weathering in the past but never got the skill to make them look good. Some builders don't like curb side kits but I think it gives more opportunity to do detailing on the interiors and exterior painting. You did a great job on the Woody. That Renaut is awesome. You really need to make time for building. I know you're busy with a full time job, home maintenance, doing the 3D printing and videos but you're an exceptional builder too. By the way, my Hobby Nut order has shipped and expected later this week. Take care my friend! 👍👍
I have that GTO also, it's 1/24 and was made by Icon. They also made a '66 Ace Wilson Royal Bobcat GTO. Really nice affordable diecasts, I have a bunch by Icons. The '47 is a Tudor
SMER is a Russian model company that repops kits from old molds they buy from Western model companies, like Aurora, Hawk, Heller, etc. They aren't known for quality as the old molds are usually worn out. I've done several SMER aircraft kits.
Yesterday I ordered 50 dollars of your products. I really like them, but I'm hoping to get a sticker. Have a great day, sir. I have an update on the next model contest in Oahu. So far, it looks like October. Would love for you and family to attend.
The Mopar wheels are almost identical to the ones in the Foose Snap Fast Revell kit the green and black painted one and the ones in the Foose '66 Impala are even closer I tried for months to get a full set off EBay before finally getting one then my wife bought me one just because she is a big Chip Foose fan wants to try to make a model of the "Imposter" he built.
