With me being super new to the fragrance world I haven’t heard of all the different categories. But, I really enjoyed this video 😊 p.s: the edit you had when you called the fragrance sexy,and when you listed all the Notes for ‘Civet’ were funny 😂 Some of these perfumes sound interesting so I’ll have to check them out.

IFRA doesn't make laws, nor is oakmoss illegal. IFRA give guidelines with the justification certain materials cause allergens in people which usually isn't true. IFRA mostly restricts usage of materials so they can profit off the replacement materials.

Great video, Amina! 😍😍😍 I love chypres too. I have a weird recommendation for you - Lady Stetson. It's so cheap and you have to look at the bottom shelf of your drugstore or walmart perfume section 😂 but it's such a legit lovely chypre!

OMG Camille...guys... you MUST try Francesca fragrances. I know folks are tired of me talking about them but damn... they're good. And judging by the fragrances I've seen you talk about, Bianchi fragrances will be right up your alley for sure.
Just discovered your channel and subscribed! Love your taste and presentation style. Totally with you on Chypre-Siam too-It’s been on my wishlist for over a year since sampling and you inspired me to just buy a bottle already! It was the standout from Rogue’s line for me, and also my favorite Chypre to date. I also have a travel sprayer of Civet, but going to part ways with it-agreed on the sour and powdery notes that can be off putting. And although I was intrigued for a long time, my Mitsouko also has to go-while the dry down is great, I don’t enjoy the opening and life’s too short to wait for the dry down!

Ahhh ok, yeah I feel like Civet could be a bit challenging to wear but not in the expected way based on the name. I do love how it evolves though. just not a fan of that powder in part of the wear. You're going to get rid of Mitsouko??? Noooo... lol! Have you tried the other versions? edt? parfum? I'm really curious about them and would like to see how they differ. @@experiencingfragranceswith7409 so excited to receive Chypre-Siam-should be here in a couple days. Civet was a favorite of mine from Zoologist, but I just don’t agree with it anymore, sadly. For Mitsouko, I have the EDP, but have heard nice things about the other formulas as well.
Chypre fragrances were definitely not my style when I started my fragrance journey. Now I'm starting to love them as I'm loving oakmoss more and more. I tried Antaeus after your review video and I really enjoyed it. 😊 Rogue perfumery is definitely a brand that I want to try ! 😍
Yeah, I can see how chypres can be one to learn to love. Yasss to trying Anteaus. It's one that will forever be in my collection! Oh, and I highly, highly recommend sampling Rogue Perfumery, especially if you like vintage style scents.
Ruth sent me a bunch of Amouage and my favs were Memoir Woman and also Interlude Woman....but the Men’s version of interlude is even better! Great taste!

I love Civet by Zoologists. I’ve completed my sample and am looking to make a full bottle purchase! Also, Memoir Woman by Amouage is my favorite Amouage that I own. It’s definitely not for everyone but it is one of my favorites.
Civet really did catch me by surprise. I thought it would be super animalic. I do love animalics but I love the direction of Civet. Very unique. Yes, I agree with you on Memoir..not for everyone but its stunning. Thank you so much for watching!

Yep chypre can be challenging. I have vintage one by Rochas that I almost threw away, until I started learning about the genre of perfumes and understand its historical value in perfumery. So now I am trying to train my nose with it.
Yeah, I can see how it can be challenging. Ooohhh, Thank goodness your didnt throw the Rochas away! I would recommend sampling a few others since there are so many differently kinds of chypres out there. you might find one that you really enjoy.

Thank you Nattz! 💜 Yeah some can have a pretty prominent lavender note which can be challenging if you're not a fan. Have you tried Chypre Palatin? I have a feeling you'd enjoy that one.

Chypres are an amazing category provided you find your ideal type. Although a classic style of perfumery, I quite like it. My favorite currently is chypre-Siam and mousse illuminnee from rogue perfumery.
Absolutely! There are so many sub categories that I think anyone could find one they love. I need to try Mousse Illuminnee. I'm very curious about Fougere L'Aube and Flora & Fauna. Such a nice house

Hey Valerie!!! Ok so there are a few stores in the galleria to smell some good stuff! Neiman Marcus has a lot of luxury like Roja, Maison Lancome, HOS, MFK, etc. I believe Saks is where you wanna go if you want to try out some Chanel exclusif or Maison Christian Dior (I picked up my Coromandel from there). They also carry the special Gucci line (Highly recommend checking out), Penhaligon's and By Kilian, sooo many. Make sure you come early... you'll be there a while. lol!
Which Chypre fragrances are more Masculine leaning? I have a decant of Diaghilev and absolutely adore this fragrance. I was considering “Chypre Palatin” as my next fragrance. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
Have you tried Cabochard (leather chypre) by Grès? It's marketed as a woman's perfume but it's an old one that's totally unisex. Go for the 2019 EDP. It's £14 for 100ml and an absolute classic by Bernard Chant.
